It is fairly easy to see that as the vehicle crosses the sensor placed in the road the yellow light is cut short to red. Once you can see this it becomes very obvious this is how their "magic trick" works.
@mawsea07 lol there's no magic trick. The light goes green, yellow, red in that order every single cycle and unless there's a defect while the red and green times may vary depending on traffic the times of the yellow are a constant.
