  • the arrival sets up mass effect 3... thats why shephards on earth. hes been charged for destroying a cluster.

  • @kdnladner93 if you don't play the DLC, then that DLC doesn't exist in your Mass Effect universe. Pretty cool right?

  • lol i got a ME3 ad before this vid

  • @viggeksigge Sure you did, buddy.

  • Why do all game trailers these days feel it's a necessity to put dubstep in. I mean I just got a Farcry 3 trailer before this video. What does Farcry have to do with dubstep!

  • @MrJoobafob What does Assassins Creed have to do with dubstep? I'll take a classy keith richards riff any day.

  • All dlc for ME1 and ME2 bring it on

  • wat happens if you never played any of the DLC but is going to play mass effect 3 help?

  • @kdnladner93 lair of the shadow broker is the only dlc with continuity... if you didnt play it there may be consequences involving liara - thats just from what ive heard im not 100% sure

  • Bring on mass effect 3 and that spicy ginger haired femshep. Woooo

  • lol so funny at the end of this go the uranus and start probeing it the ai says "probeing your arnus"

  • I had no idea how easy your squad makes the game until you play alone...

  • @FreeButtSex

    I felt no difference.

  • @fifthgear93 your face felt no difference.

  • @FreeButtSex

    You're just plain stupid.

  • @fifthgear93 Your face is just plain stupid.

  • @FreeButtSex

LOL if you're tying to troll, it's not working.

  • fuck you rayman i will never play that game

  • @597das i wanted to try,but now i can't evensee rayman's face

  • What do you mean dust off my copy of ME2! Still play it...

  • Man this DLC sucked.

  • And the need to go alone is pointless after he picks up the doctor. Why didn't he contact the Normandy afterwards? Why didn't he have Kenson examined for indoctrination after she spoke of coming in contact with Reaper tech? Why did he go to the asteroid alone? How did he magically wake up from sedation after 2 days and why wasn't he restrained to the bed? How can an asteroid destroy a relay but a supernova not? It makes no fucking sense! Plot = shit.

  • No one does that coming out unscathed. Shepard saw it hundreds of times all the indocrinated people. But he just assumes she isnt? Its made a big deal that he has to do this alone, but the need for that ends after he rescues Kensons.

So without a word or status update to the Normandy, he leaves in a shuttle to go directly to the asteroid because... Plot.

He doesn't try to contact them after hearing about the reaper artifact because... Plot.

  • @theNEWMASKSdudexxx Are you too stupid to understand what a coherent plot looks like?

    This dlc did 2 things:

    1) Get money using Bioware's brand name.

    2) Weakly prepare the foundation to ME3's starting events.

Did Shepard really not see the turncoat theme coming? I thought it obvious the moment Hackett told him to go alone and Dr.Kenson started talking about working with a Reaper artifact.

  • Game reviewers have no idea what the fuck their talking about, least of all some payed off organization like IGN. Goof story that makes you look forward to ME3? Do these people even know what the fuck a story is? Did they somehow miss the violation of lore, the rape done to ME1 and ME2's primary plotlines, the forced dialog, the blatant lack of choices-- none of this was noticed?

  • thanks for the info everyone :}

  • @aBananaMonster69 yes but not a big difference just a dialogue at the end

  • @aBananaMonster69 you can play it at anytime after finishing horizon but playing it after the suicide mission is alot better

  • There seems to be flaming going on about Arrival. Was I the only person to love it? Solo mission, destroying the foot soldiers hearing them on the comm going "Shepard is too powerful! We can't stop him!" and destroying a solar system? I'm sorry but Arrival was amazing! LOTSB was better, yes, but Arrival was incredible too.

  • @Nadrim dont worry i loved it too and yeah of course it was just marketing scam but who cares hey i mean in fucking mass effect.

  • do i have to get this dlc in order to play mass effect 3

  • @jamesterfire

    ofc not.

  • @kylebroflovski123 k, thanks just want to be sure.

  • @jamesterfire lol no way dude

  • @jamesterfire of course not.

  • this was one of my fav dlcs :P

  • Comment removed

  • Can someone tell me if this is good?

  • Its crap. Its a quick cash-in to keep ME players busy while they make Mass Effect 3. Plotholes, stupid dialog and a forced decision at the end which made me wanna hurl my controller at the TV.

Thanks for shit Bioware! You should've stopped with the Liara-dlc which was amazing!

  • @WelcomeGhostsIV hey dont say that, enlighten them instead. I thought this was a really interesting dlc. the more content for mass effect the better.

  • @WelcomeGhostsIV What plotholes? Were you too stupid to pay attention to the story?

  • Lair Of The Shadow Broker?

    Or Arrival and Stolen Memory?

    I need help guys!

  • @B4ndoGor4 Shadow Broker is kind of better if you played ME1. Kasumi gives you a sweet SMG( the best in the game) and a pretty good partner. Arrival is more for if you plan on getting ME3.

  • @B4ndoGor4 what are you using to play it, xbox ps3 or pc? because all the dlc is %50 off on xbox right now for some sale thing

  • @HenryDStowell Im on Xbox, wow thanks I was unaware. I got stolen memory, it was ok just disappointed how you can't really interact with Kusami.

  • @B4ndoGor4 Shadow Broker was by far the best dlc, especially if you romanced Liara in ME1. I had, but since moved on to Tali, and it brought up a lot of heartwarming and heart breaking dialog moments when catching up with Liara. The mission itself is short but very satisfying, and my only real complaint is that the third character in your party is completely ignored, and doesn't even participate in the final battle. Was hoping Liara would have something to say to Tali, whom I brought along xP

  • So is this worth paying 7 bucks for?

  • this dlc wasn't even meant to giv real insight to me3. it was supposed to set the stage for it, which is a big difference. i think that arrival did a good job in showing how sum of the most challenging enemies in me3 r people indoctrinated & sent 2 kill u. maybe innocent civilians will b sent after u & hav 2 choose whether 2 kill them 2 make ur job ez or not 2 do ur job right

  • God how I missed my squad mates. :( And on insanity, this thing is brutal.

  • so is this a bridging dlc or not?

  • @Brownzz07 yes its key to mass effect 3s story

  • I really did feel the lack of team members in this DLC. It truly made me feel lonely in this galaxy without them.

Plus of course without Garrus it was far below my usual stylish way of completing missions

  • @ZerosFangs Lonely I'm Mr Lonely, I have nobody, For my owwnnn. I'm so lonely

  • @ZerosFangs he was to buisy doing some calibrations anyway...

  • Yhea his a badass But he's not invincible

  • Oh you barely noticed the difference don't you now? Try playing on Insanity and then let's see how long you'll last against the horde of enemies that this DLC throws at you, without your squadmates' assistance. Shepard might be a badass, but he's not bulletproof

  • @RedFactionWilliam During the Battle for Object Rho I just spin around in circles firing in the air. I already got the achievement. Also, Sentinel and Infiltrator FTW.

  • Is this the one where u kill 300,000 Batarians and is therefore key to the story?

  • so is the begining of ME3 supposed to be because of this? in the Demo they said he was on trail or something like that. and at the end of this one the Amiral pretty much says to Shepard: Once this mission is over you're going to prison..so is the begiing of ME3 supposed to be because of what happened in this DLC?

  • @1amRy4n No, not prison. The beginning of ME3 is your trial.

  • This is exactly how I feel about this DLC. Word for word.

  • I'm thinking about getting the Arrival DLC, should I?

  • @superwhiteboy619 After some thought, I got it. Mainly because I'm starting to become a Mass Effect fanboy, haha.. But I really love the story, and I care for all the characters etc.. I want the full experience, I've downloaded everything now, and the Arrival DLC is awesome IMO.

  • @AwesomePeow i agreeeeeeee!

  • A covert operation and you just leave Kasumi, that thief that is a master of stealth, on the Normandy? I know they wanted this dlc to stand-alone, but from an in-game logical stand point, it... really doesn't make sense.

  • This review did a really good job of hiding the spoilers. I had it spoiled a day before launch, so I'm not to happy about that. Trust me, you'll want to be surprised by this DLC.

  • Just one complain:

WHY KELLY DIDNT SAID WELCOME BACK OR HUG OR SOMETHING?!?!?! WHY WHYYYYY!?!?!?!?!

Two days lost on that mission, a whole system wiped and nobody said anything, not even Joker.

But that Kelly didnt said anything.... THAT WAS JUST INSULTING!!!!!

    >_<

  • "Shepherd is a badass?" Shepherd is only as badass as you choose him to be, sweetheart.

  • just finished this dlc...it's worth it. now eagerly waiting for ME3.

  • While i'm here i should say IGN does really bad reviews...some are good but they seem to be lacking any good critic skills. I personally wouldn't rate this DLC a 7.0. Maybe a solid 8.0. The fact that they say this is short is beyond me...its a DLC, what do you expect? And the it didn't give a lot away about mass effect 3 because obviously bioware doesn't want to give a lot away yet.

  • @TheBigjohnny84 Shadow broker and overlord were like 3-4 possibly 5 hours each...this is barley 2 its a lack luster story that while its cool to do it, for 7 bucks you might as well just save your money and read the wiki or wait till ME3 I would give this a 4.5 or 5 if only because as the last major DLC to be released it doesn't send off the game with a bang but instead meekly whimpers and slinks away.

  • @LordPenguin7485 I wasn't arguing about how short it was. I totally agree with you, it was short. I was arguing that the fact that IGN said that both the Shadow Broker and The Arrival were short. Yes they were short...but again almost every DLC for almost every game is going to be short. I just didn't like the fact they subtracted points for it being short. You know what i'm saying? Btw...i hated the ending to The Arrival

  • @TheBigjohnny84 Agreed that most DLC is short but like you said it IS DLC I don't expect another 8 or 9 hours, so I see what you mean.

  • I think that the fact that the reviewer is a girl with a sweet voice, people think she is being nicer and more forgiving in her reviewers rather than the other IGN reviewers which is total bs. She's still rating just as harshly as any other IGN member of the team so you guys who have the wool over their heads dont even see it because your too busy fapping off to her voice. IGN is still IGN girl or not and they all agree on particular faults in the game.

  • @ABL36 I actually think IGN has a few good reviewers, it's just that they have a lot of retarded ones .

  • Sooo.....ME3 coming on Holidays right ?? Which means ..... in about 1-2 months ... ;D

  • @AnGrYGrEeKGuY no.... november .... about 8 months ....

  • @adam123456789097531 How do you know that ??? I said it cuz the game have been in deveopment for a long time , are you sure ??? Maybe you mean Skyrim ???

  • @AnGrYGrEeKGuY well holidays means like thanksgiving christmas new years etc which is around November/december and not june/july

  • @AnGrYGrEeKGuY No, November 2011-January 2012. Sorry.

  • Just bring on ME 3!!

  • Curious what effect that this will have on Mass Effect 3? Maybe Hackett will owe you one and you get some sort of bonus. Otherwise, not worth the purchase.

  • @Adashio2 Actually, the ending will reveal how ME3 begins. Basically, things don't go well, so I would buy it.

  • just the fact it has mass effect on it should give it a 10/10

  • @OfficialAtramental Yeah, I only played Oblivion, but even though I have a file for each race, I'm really reluctant to do all of them

  • 560 points heavy risk but the priiiiiiiiiiicce

  • @OfficialAtramental I don't really think you can do multiple playthroughs of a game like elder scrolls

They are just to damn big to redo all over again

  • Kinda stupid how this becomes available after Horizon, would make more sense if it was available after the Suicide Mission

  • @OfficialAtramental My initial comparison was according to the release dates... and how much time was involved... Read the comment before responding... I wans't comparing the games by genre...

  • no its not long but its f***** epic

  • dident they say there was going to be 3 dlcs to bridge the story?

    lotsb 1

    arival 2

why is everybody saying this is the last?

  • @mickeymouse14 wow didnt hear any amounts, but first there ARE possibillities for more, because of how arrival ends, and rockstar also said there would be 3 gta iv dlc packs, there only is 2.

  • @mickeymouse14 Firewalker, bro.

  • @mickeymouse14 You're forgetting Kasumi DLC.

  • @BaBaBubz that wasent one of the stroy briding dlcs, it started with shadow broker and then arival, note that on the Cerberus network, it says another exciting adventure for mass effect, it dosent say anywhere this is the last dlc~

  • Hold on ... you said this isnt the worst dlc ( im assuming story dlc) AND YET you give it the lowest score of them all... WTF

  • I love Bioware they make the very best RPG games and ME3 will be the best ever o and so will dragon age 3

  • @Metalnat28 canadians ftw...

  • honestly i can wait longer for mass effect 3, I hope they don't stress the game

  • @RetardedGuy64000

    Likewise.

As much as i am somewhat impatient for Mass Effect 3, i still could give it a wait for at least two more years. So that the game will be a full flesh robust.

Me personally, think that they're rushing the game ME3 since that it is schedule to come out this year.

    Damn Canadians!!

But, i am still very much faithful that the game will be coherent at best.

  • @metalnat28 Yeah, I sure as hell hope that ME3 isn't rushed like Dragon Age 2 was.

  • @metalnat28 Well it is kind of dissapointing that there using the same engine, always love it when there like "Bam new graphics eh!" But at least with them not having to work on the engine as much will allow them to concentrate on the story, that oh so tasty and delecious story. Woah, I should calm down, I'm gonna make a mess...

  • @FaslifiedHero Well they don't make the Engine, Epic Games does. In the words of Cliffy B,"I get payed for this? Sweet!"

  • @metalnat28 Well from what i heard that when they were on the last stage of making mass effect 2...the Bioware team split up and half of them finished the touches on mass effect while the others began work on mass effect 3...but whether this is true or not Bioware will deliver an amazing game none the less.

  • @metalnat28 bioware are releasing Mass Effect 3 so soon because they want to end the series on the same console generation they started it on so i think that this why its being released so soon

  • @bairdy218

    Ohhhhhh....

Well yeah, you brought a point there too. This definitely can be another reason why it's being release so soon.

  • @metalnat28 Mass Effect 2 got released two years after Mass Effect 1, and I turned out to be great. It doesn’t take long to make a game if you already have the engine, the expertise, the world and so on.

Oh and production on Mass Effect 3 began PRIOR to the release of Mass Effect 2.

  • @metalnat28 Lol your impatient but can wait 2 more years wow. But if you think the game is being rushed go look at the gameinformer preview and you will change your mind.

  • @Blballerboy

    Well duhh!

I am indeed impatient about this game, BUT i will give it a huge sacrifice though on waiting on it as much as i can. It's not that hard to understand really.

  • @Blballerboy What gameinformer has said has nothing to do with the game being rushed. It's only talked about mechanics and so on, which doesn't mean anything in the sense of polish, which is what makes games great: cutting out the rough edges. BioWare did this extremely well, and the reason Dragon Age 2 was so badly received is exactly because of that: They didn't spend enough time refining it.

I personally prefer to wait another 2-3 years and ME3 to be great rather than 10-11 months and its OK.

  • @masterplusmargarita Yeah but you have to realize that at the end of the day Bioware is still a buisness, and buisnesses NEED money, so to continue to make the game for another 2-3 years would cost more then double of what they already spent and wouldnt neccesarily mean more people would buy it so in the end they would lose money. I understand you wanting the game to be perfect and that you have the super ability of extreem patience ,I can see waiting maybe another year but 2-3 is out of pocket.

  • @Blballerboy I know what you mean, but look at Bethesda Studios (Creators of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3). They've never taken less than 3 years to make a game, and Morrowind, released in 2002 is still giving them VERY good profits by 2011. BioWare also used to do this (Though not as fast), and the first game they released fast was DA2. Look at how that average-quality game turned out for them. If ME3 is like DA2, BioWare will loose the trust of its consumer base, and thus lose money.

  • @metalnat28 The game would be awesome if it would release this year, but it's pushed back to 2012.. It's for the better, because atm I have three games to buy in November! (MW3, BF3 and Uncharted 3)!

  • @AwesomePeow Atleast they said probably within the first 3 months

  • @pbck15 Yeah! I really want Mass Effect 3! I just bought Arrival for Mass Effect 2, and I'm having a blast! I havn't finished it though.

  • @AwesomePeow Yea im getting it tonight after work

  • @pbck15 Awesome! Do that :)

  • @metalnat28 Seeing how when you really examine the main plot of ME2 and realize its its full of bad retcons, plot holes, inconsistent story telling and stupid plot devices; well, i'm less than hopeful....

  • @FlashlegendSC Plot holes?

  • @Chigokai1080 Yes, plot holes. I won't going to detail here but this guy(smudboy, search) does a very good 1 hour analysis of ME2 story line. Check it out if you wish. Some of its nitpicking and somewhat subjectivebut most of his main points hold validity.

  • @FlashlegendSC I was thinking of something completely different when I read plot holes. I actually agree 100% with what he said and I was thinking a lot of that before I saw it. But it's kind of like a really bad action movie were you don't really care until it's over. Everything in it is REALLY cool and the characters are awesome. They just aren't relevant. Couldn't agree more.

  • @metalnat28 The more they delay a game because they are working on it. The better it gets. Oh and i waited 11 years to starcraft 2.

  • @metalnat28 I totally agree, I think they should really take their time and make everything perfect but who knows. Im sure they had written the story a long time ago and just needed to put everything together. Its being made right now in my city which feels kind of weird, I dont know why

  • @metalnat28 I hate when people insult Canadians. It's not because they're canadian that they'll rush it. It's because it's a game company you *****. And if you don't like ''damn canadians'', then don't buy the game. I am Canadian and proud of it.

  • @TheGamingfan144 WOO! way to be bro! me too!

  • @metalnat28 Bitch.

  • @metalnat28 It's coming out next yr.

  • @metalnat28 ME2 was made about 2 years and 3 months after the release of ME1 and now that ME3 is coming out 2012 march they have 2 years and 2 months from ME2's release to finish it, and as some of the game tips in ME2's loading screens suggest, they have been working on ME3 even before ME2's release.

  • @metalnat28 They didn't exactly rush it they worked on Mass Effect 3 at the same time as ME 2 so I'm not worried

  • @metalnat28 Mass Effect 3 went into production before Mass Effect 1

  • @lucas34511 Lol it makes so much sense right?

  • is it just me or is this DLC far to short

  • Do I get to sex the doctor?

  • 22 people were assumed control of by Harbinger.

  • i don't know...i always cared for my choices and what will happen if i kill one person or something like that, but here when i killed 300000 batarians (they are scumbags but that's not the point) i didn't care about it...and it was really short...shadow broker was a lot better but at the end we got a good preparation for ME 3

  • @RyanKHS06 Yea go for it, the gamespot guys just dont really have a taste for Mass Effect they did after all give the PS3 version an 8.5 LOL. 5 is over reacting. It isn't the best DLC but it is all right and a bit important to play before ME3 if you ask me. So go for it can be done in a little over than an hour.

  • Please EA, bundle the DLC on a disc or something :( .

  • fangirl's audio orgasm

  • @SBWaffelmann Good one and I agree! Activision (or Treyarch) make the most boring games. Seems to me, there investing too much time in their Call of Duty franchise, that there other titles are suffering. They should put COD on the shelf for a few years and focus on other titles.

  • Yeah I was meh on the DLC, it was better than Pinnacle Station for ME1 and better than witch hunt for DAO, but it wasn't spectacular some good moments but just something missing. I think having it at 480 points instead of 560 would have made a lot more sense. Worth getting if your a ME 2 addict like myself, and finally seeing Admiral Hackett is cool.

  • gamer girls... rare

  • This DLC get closer to Mass Effect 3 game . :D

  • IF THIS IS WHAT IGN CALLS A REVIEW, THEY ARE ALL A BUNCH OF MORONS!!

  • @shinkuu91 If you say that again I will tear you limb from limb

  • This DLC was kind of a let down to me, i mean, after playing the lair of the shadow broker, which was totally awesome, and hearing about arrival, which meant reaper involvement and closer ties to mass effect 3 i was totally expecting it to be much longer and way more fun, but it ended too quick and barely had any story or dialogue features. In short, it was decent time pass but nothing great tho the ending with the mass relay was kinda cool

  • @shinkuu91 if they are crap than why are you watching a review for one of their games? i mean surely if u didnt like them than you wouldnt bother watching this...

  • @shinkuu91 So is your comment.

  • @shinkuu91 Bioware is the best studio out there IMO. Do you prefere treyarch or what? Bioware is on foot with Valve and Blizzard.

  • @Persason Bioware, Valve, Blizzard and the unforgetable Bethesda. love 'em all. might be missing some like Team ICO, or Squaresoft with Final Fantasies, but those are the ones i remember atm.

  • @ayato5200

    bethesda>>>bioware

    fallout 3>>>mass effect(series)

for my opinion, even though bioware is a talented developer,it is inferior to comparing such as bethesda or valve,...not counting to overrated treyarch/activision here,...

    sry bad english,....

  • @tmrgroup

Bioware and Bethesda are my top two, but personally, I couldn't get myself to love Fallout like Mass Effect.

Valve... well, Half-Life 2 is amazing, and Portal is probably the most unique game I've ever played, but L4D/TF2 weren't AWESOME. Just good.

Fallout's story was nothing next to Mass Effect, and its combat always felt clunky. I definitely love Elder Scrolls (much more than fallout), but for me, Bioware's success rate is higher. Never once has Bioware let me down.

  • @shinkuu91 bioware is much, much,MUCH better than all activision developer/titles,....

  • please release ME3 in 2012!! Don't RUSH IT!!!

  • screw this dlc i didnt need more motivation for me3 already pre ordered thumbs up if this your case oh and im getting collectors edition

  • @dogeatdog53196 screw you and your thumbs up.

  • man, this DLC sort of sucked.

on the ps3 atleast, there were major frame rate issues and the entire thing only lasted me an hour and a half.

  • @angryrantingguy Well I didn't get frame rate issues (Ps3 too), but it was pretty short. But I was comparing it to Lair of the Shadow Broker, which was amazing.

  • @oglocgeeks2nd what class did you play? I played vanguard and it frame jumped/skipped like crazy whenever I used charge

  • @angryrantingguy Oh I played Soldier. I had Slam as a power, didn't lag for me when using it.

  • @XmXFLUXmX2 If by fiasco, your referring to the healthy profit being made on th....ya know...why am I speaking to you? Your a "racist" and your stupid.

  • @bebomac5 Lol, you don't even know that "you're" is the proper term to use when addressing someone and not "your" yet you call me stupid. Nice try jackass. QQ more

Btw, if you don't remember the Bioware [Dragon Age 2] censorship event that was reported by a lot of gaming media, or if you haven't seen the Metacritic reviews, I suggest you look them up.
