Well I'll be damned. He's right. Yeah whatever range you're focused on at the start of the recording, that's it. To change focus you pretty much have to start a new recording. Huh. Still, I like my N900. : )
I think its cause the N900 uses a fixed focus video recording, which means when u start the recording it remains in that focus untill u either pause or stop then start recording again, try it out record sumthing far away then pause it and record sumthing close up (keeping the lens pointed at the close up object before un-pausing) I have the N97 32GB and its got infinite focus which sucks cause its always blurry close up :( and not good on faces etc :( N900 is much better phone all round ;)
My €850 Canon EOS 500D doesn't have dynamic focussing either when shooting video. It's a shame on both devices, and It can't be that big of a deal to do - or am I missing something?

That glitch is now fixed in new N8. It have auto focus even with video recording,

I don´t think it is a bug. The video description says fixed focus - and that is what we saw.
I didn´t know there was such a mode. Maybe it will be useful when my N900 arrives (probably before christmas).
