didn't make myself clear, difficult in comparison to a beetle i mean. a 12 second motor in a bug is like a 13.5 second motor in a ghia. strange but ive seen it.

Ghia is about 150 pounds more than the bug due to the handbuilt bodywork (wider, more seams and filler). They will be slower off the line, but have a better top end with the aerodynamics. 60 foot times get hurt most with the extra weight.

@UnmuffledRyan Not really...They are light, have awesome traction and a huge catalog of aftermarket parts available. I think most of the Ghias I know of are pretty fast...

what type of engine is that? n/a,forcefed.etc.
I used to have a 71'karmann with a 1600cc single carb.fun car.always liked the vw's responsiveness.nice car
