I'm sorry i just have to say this... to everyone who thinks "dis shit is better then Sonic 4".... are you friggen retarded? I'll say this is not a bad fan mix and better than anything I could do. But this game is ugly as shit, when actually played the graphics are par with Sonic 3D Blast. The only reason any of you give a shit about this remix is because of all the BS in the background and dead on level design.

Between this and the Streets of Rage Remake, it's clear that the fans do know what they want in their games. I just hope more fans make excellent remakes such as these. Well done.

What's with all the comparing with SEGA's games? This game was made a year before Sonic Generations. And it's a(n incomplete) fan game. SEGA is an entire company and this game's team is just 1 to 3 people.

Having played this,...it's so amazing! Why hasn't Sega grabbed these guys up to do a full port of the game! IT NEEDS TO BE DONE! This is the first time I've been excited about Sonic since the 3rd game came out!
My only gripe with this game is that delay when jumping. I understand that this gets a lot of butt pats for being a fan game, but this was the talented work of a few hard working individuals. Yet bitchy retrofags take credit upon themselves for this, absolutely disgusting and disgraceful...

Sonic Colors and the upcoming Sonic Generations aren't shit the previous ones however are. when Sonic Colors came out you still make it sound like Sega's still doing a bad job when the game actually turned out good.

@Zero771 i admit sonic 06 and black knight were kinda difficult, but sonic unleashed was ok. idk why everyone says it sucks. now sonic heroes and shadow the hedgehog were probably the worst games ever to play. shadow had too many endings, too many missions, and heroes was just about the same. but overall they were still fun to play.
@Cupcom5 The 2d parts are loved by most people. What kills Sonic Unleashed is the night time levels. Those suck and are the whole reason why the game has such bad rep.
@kazatskiyme oh yes, the classics will always be top, which is why im looking forward to sonic generations. i also thought the night time stages in unleashed were awesome. i admit they were hard as hell, but its a whole new twist to me, and that's what fascinates me about sonic unleashed. plus the music for both night and day are awesome.

However, the problem isn't the fun or not fun part of the night levels. The problem is it's too slow for a sonic game, and even that can be excused (for being unique), but it messes things up by making the night time levels take up the majority of the game and severely throwing the pace of. One minute your running super fast through high speed levels, the next your playing an action rpg(sorta), with no transition in between at all.
true, some of the nighttime stages took up most of the game, but you gotta admit the form is cool to play as. i mean, sonic wouldnt have been able to defeat most of the bosses, break through certain walls, and reach higher spots without it. i think sega just wanted to give the werehog form some screen time, since we all know about the day sonic.
@Cupcom5 Yes, which is why I think that if they wanted to go about it this way, they should have just removed the daytime stages, because it's very distracting and annoying to have such a huge change in pace and without any transition (like I said before). The problem is, the sonic fan boys would complain even more about the game then. Actually, I'm not a sonic fan boy and I still find the daytime levels simply mediocre, making it hard for me to convince myself to finish the game.
that's the beauty of it. ^_^ theyre trying something new with it. giving it a different pace for one game only. its really not all that bad. true, the fanboys out there would go pulling there hair out for something so little like this. im not a fangirl either, but i do like sonic. regardless how some of his games are, they are still fun to play. there's gotta be at LEAST something in the game that you might like, isnt there? :( its not a bad game at all.

@Cupcom5 Sonic heroes, loved that game. I found it very easy apart from team chaotix. Man it drove me mad when you missed 1 thing and had to go through the whole level several times before finding out where it was. As for sonic generations, I plan on getting it tomorrow (for PC) and I can't wait. The wii (where I played sonic unleashed) is my little brothers and he doesn't have sonic generations, so yeah. Been a while since a true sonic game has been released for PC (I think Heroes was the last)
i didnt even know they had sonic heroes on pc. i do have sonic 3D Blast for it though. only thing i didnt like about sonic heroes was really the bingo extra mission stage. i couldnt find the last 10 for shit. lol i do hate that too, miss one thing and have to go through all that crap. i was like that with the seashells with team chaotix. turns out it was right at the beginning of the damn stage where u have to rotate the camera to see it.
@Cupcom5 Never really liked the casino levels in any of the sonic games. In the original ones aiming wasn't too hard, but there where too many things that forced you to stop or move slowly, defeating the purpose of it being high speed. In heroes it was a horrible pain to aim on that extra stage. And yes, it was out for PC, but they didn't optimize it for the system, so there was really no difference graphics wise or control wise on it. It was basically a direct port.

To make matters worse, there's a fan game that's being worked on titled Sonic FanRemix which actually has decent graphics and physics that actually work! What's even funnier is that Sonic 4 had a team of at least 100 professional developers with a budget over 1 Million dollars and they make a game that looks even shittier when compared to a game of little-to-no budget made by only 3 people. Yeah, nice going Sega; the company that even its fans can make better games than you can.
Sonic fans are once again saying that this game has redeemed the franchise, just as they have been saying in last 5 years; while others are boycotting Sonic 4 because of Sonic still having green eyes and Robotnik still being called Eggman. As many Sonic fans hoped this would be the triumphant return of the once respected Sonic franchise, the game was a piece of shit. The game had horrible physics, craptastic graphics and every level and boss is a rehash from the first two games.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Coming to terms with understanding that the preceding hundred Sonic games listed here are fantastic, Sega decided to return to their roots in milking a fluke franchise with more sequels. Sonic 4 promised to return to the first side-scrolling Sonic games, the only playable character will be Sonic and it has been confirmed to be available for XBLA, PSN, and WiiWare, though the game is in the style of the classics.

@Zero771 i admit sonic 06 and black knight were kinda difficult, but sonic unleashed was ok. idk why everyone says it sucks. now sonic heroes and shadow the hedgehog were probably the worst games ever to play. shadow had too many endings, too many missions, and heroes was just about the same. but overall they were still fun to play.

@kazatskiyme oh yes, the classics will always be top, which is why im looking forward to sonic generations. i also thought the night time stages in unleashed were awesome. i admit they were hard as hell, but its a whole new twist to me, and that's what fascinates me about sonic unleashed. plus the music for both night and day are awesome.

However, the problem isn't the fun or not fun part of the night levels. The problem is it's too slow for a sonic game, and even that can be excused (for being unique), but it messes things up by making the night time levels take up the majority of the game and severely throwing the pace of. One minute your running super fast through high speed levels, the next your playing an action rpg(sorta), with no transition in between at all.

true, some of the nighttime stages took up most of the game, but you gotta admit the form is cool to play as. i mean, sonic wouldnt have been able to defeat most of the bosses, break through certain walls, and reach higher spots without it. i think sega just wanted to give the werehog form some screen time, since we all know about the day sonic.

@Cupcom5 Yes, which is why I think that if they wanted to go about it this way, they should have just removed the daytime stages, because it's very distracting and annoying to have such a huge change in pace and without any transition (like I said before). The problem is, the sonic fan boys would complain even more about the game then. Actually, I'm not a sonic fan boy and I still find the daytime levels simply mediocre, making it hard for me to convince myself to finish the game.

that's the beauty of it. ^_^ theyre trying something new with it. giving it a different pace for one game only. its really not all that bad. true, the fanboys out there would go pulling there hair out for something so little like this. im not a fangirl either, but i do like sonic. regardless how some of his games are, they are still fun to play. there's gotta be at LEAST something in the game that you might like, isnt there? :( its not a bad game at all.

@Cupcom5 Yes, but like I said, I actually found it very easy. Then again I find nearly all modern games WAY too easy. (Ah the days when dying meant you had to start the game from the beginning; sonic games included :) )

@Cupcom5 Sonic heroes, loved that game. I found it very easy apart from team chaotix. Man it drove me mad when you missed 1 thing and had to go through the whole level several times before finding out where it was. As for sonic generations, I plan on getting it tomorrow (for PC) and I can't wait. The wii (where I played sonic unleashed) is my little brothers and he doesn't have sonic generations, so yeah. Been a while since a true sonic game has been released for PC (I think Heroes was the last)

i didnt even know they had sonic heroes on pc. i do have sonic 3D Blast for it though. only thing i didnt like about sonic heroes was really the bingo extra mission stage. i couldnt find the last 10 for shit. lol i do hate that too, miss one thing and have to go through all that crap. i was like that with the seashells with team chaotix. turns out it was right at the beginning of the damn stage where u have to rotate the camera to see it.

@Cupcom5 Never really liked the casino levels in any of the sonic games. In the original ones aiming wasn't too hard, but there where too many things that forced you to stop or move slowly, defeating the purpose of it being high speed. In heroes it was a horrible pain to aim on that extra stage. And yes, it was out for PC, but they didn't optimize it for the system, so there was really no difference graphics wise or control wise on it. It was basically a direct port.

i downloaded the Mac version because i have a MacBook, but when i go to play it, it has a bright flashy yellow color masking the whole screen, i can hardly see it, and has a very static movement. don't know if maybe cause i need an actual desktop mac to get better results. need some help on this one...

To make matters worse, there's a fan game that's being worked on titled Sonic FanRemix which actually has decent graphics and physics that actually work! What's even funnier is that Sonic 4 had a team of at least 100 professional developers with a budget over 1 Million dollars and they make a game that looks even shittier when compared to a game of little-to-no budget made by only 3 people. Yeah, nice going Sega; the company that even its fans can make better games than you can.

Sonic fans are once again saying that this game has redeemed the franchise, just as they have been saying in last 5 years; while others are boycotting Sonic 4 because of Sonic still having green eyes and Robotnik still being called Eggman. As many Sonic fans hoped this would be the triumphant return of the once respected Sonic franchise, the game was a piece of shit. The game had horrible physics, craptastic graphics and every level and boss is a rehash from the first two games.

Sonic 4 promised to return to the first side-scrolling Sonic games, the only playable character will be Sonic and it has been confirmed to be available for XBLA, PSN, and WiiWare, though the game is in the style of the classics.

But at least I can avoid confusing Personal Tastes with Facts, so I admit the classic series and this fangame is far superior in Essence at least, maybe not in programming. Also, I agree that not everything by Sonic Team is crap, but you also must agree that every little thing by DIMPS is crap.
