  • Her highest count that I have read was 7 million dollars in one day. Frequency Hopping without going into the science worked something liked this. If an American ship was communicating with another American ship, once they are synchronized the frequency would shift every second so the enemy couldn’t find you, and listen in. This a very, very simplified explanation. This would work in a guided torpedo. It wouldn't be shoot and hope-shoot and blowup. A lower frequency-harder to to find.

  • As we can see here, she is breathtaking and very natural, unlike many actresses who are naturally plain and need a ton of hooker makeup to look beautiful. So lovely in "Comrade X" I watched some weeks ago. And sublime in color in "samson and Delilah" !

    Remarkably intelligent too.

  • "But I had already heard enough to know she wasn't kidding about her inventions." Antheil ,1940

  • while notable female stars where selling bonds with all their makeup and costumes during WWII....

a shy, timid young girl, named Norma Jeane Baker worked in a war-plant... caught the eye of a photographer... and the rest is history

    MARILYN MONROE trashes them all!!!

  • I think Hedy Lamarr is prettier than Marilyn Monroe

  • This video shows that stylists only got in Hedy Lamarr's way. A woman doesn't become more beautiful than Hedy's natural look with her hair parted in the middle and simply combed back on each side.

The two closeups in this video are Hedy at her best. Natural was her best style.

Little wonder she sold so many war bonds. She was living proof that beauty and brains could co-exist.

  • Hedy Lamarr! The most beautiful girl in the world!

  • Funny if Lexixox really thinks that was the peace sign; but is she an amazing beauty!

  • Wow, that's just so nice.

  • Obviously, I was joking. It says it clearly in the video that it's the Churchill sign.

  • She's absolutely darling! I don't even think she was a citizen when this video was taken. She became one in 1953, I believe. But wow, she sure is amazing! So patriotic. And I love how she flashes the peace sign :)

  • Hedy Lamarr was even more beautiful in person then on the screen!

  • It should be noted Hedy Lamarr wasn't an American citizen until 1953 yet she once raised $7,000,000 selling war bonds in a single evening during World War II. She was also a co-inventor of a patented secret communications system later used by the US Navy in long range torpedoes. Her invention forms the basic principle that allows the use of simultaneous multi-channel operation used in modern digital cellular telephone systems. Hedy Lamarr was a remarkable woman and an American patriot.

  • Thank You. Hedy Lamarr was a breathtaking beauty but she indeed did a lot for national defense ( she went on a lot of war bond drives, worked for the Red Cross ,appeared on many radio programs, entertained troops at the Hollywood Canteen...). She was not an aloof beauty alien to reality.

  • i really dont think there is anything she couldnt sell me

  • @theblueangel28 Yeah! She could sell me the moon's reflection in a bowl of water.

  • great!

  • Great Clip!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Eine schoene Frau.
