  • Hello Libertylove! It's Art Pepper, Russ Freeman, Leroy Vinnegar and Shelly Manne.

  • Art Pepper , Bud Shank, Coltrane, Parker, Michael Brecker, Cannonball, Coleman Hawkins, Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, Sonny Stitt, Lester Young, Stan Getz

These giants of the saxophone have left us a legacy for which we can all be eternally grateful.

  • Saw Art Pepper live with Tommy Flannagan, Leroy Vinnegar at a place in Hollywood in the mid '60's called Bonesville. After hours place. No cover charge, $1 for a coke. Listen all through the wee hours. Ahhh....man those were some great sets!

  • happy 84th birthday Arthur (Art) Pepper.

    your music lives on

  • 60otaku3: You've got superb taste. Art Pepper's birthday is tomorrow. My uncle and jazz educator Dr. Herb Wong visited Art in San Quentin during one of his prison stints in the 1960s. They dropped off a clarinet.
