  • Is the rumor that SqaureSoft didn't want this song in the game because they thought it sounded too much like a song from an anime and they was scared they were gonna get sued true?

  • @ViolinSnowKid2 I wouldn't be surprised if it were. The similarity is pretty noticeable.

  • must... write... down... for... ocarina...

  • Amazing track. It's a little sad it wasn't in the original release, but whatever. This is still a perfect game.

  • May this prayer find and guide you, may this prayer light your way

And as we are on our journey let your path meet mine one day

Tomorrow may bring the sunshine, tomorrow may bring the rain

But I promise you tomorrow will bring us all home again

When you are lost and lonely, when you don't know what to do

Then the one thing you must remember is how much I love you

    I love you...

  • @SlargTheGnome

    Beautiful!

  • @agueroabc Thanks ^^;

  • *facepalm* this theme WAS in the ds version

  • @zigzagzom It was dummied out of the SNES version. Mitsuda originally wrote it along with the alternate battle theme for the SNES game, but the team never put them anywhere.

  • What I still don't get is why to this day they NEVER took the time to place it ingame. We get a direct port of the game to the DS and they take all that time to add in the use of the stylus, but they couldn't set it up to play the song? What a waste...

  • @Twiztedhyral ..you've not done any of the extra stuff in the DS version, have you?

  • Should have played when scaling a certain mountain to revive a certain character.

  • I nearly cried.

Why? Why wasn't this in the game?

  • You can't help but smile at something like this that plays in a mostly fast paced game... *sigh* I miss when all games were like this, and I'm 13 so that's saying something!

  • this song reminds me of "Castle in the Sky - Carrying you" ♥

  • @LiliumCrystal I love that song, it's so pretty ^^

  • hey, thats the same melody like the beginning music at the RPG "Mondschein", an german RPG...

pretty epic, if you get known to the story of Fynn...

  • How in the fiendlors keep would someone dislike this!?!?!

  • @Eternalclaw Probably because it wasn't in the game and they wanted it to be...

  • I remember I heard one with high quality on the web but I can't remember which website

  • On DS you can unlock the Dimensional Vortex. Go through it and you may encounter this song! ;D

  • Wonderful. Enjoyed the game but this song is too good for remakes, why not use it for fufure games? :) Take care.

  • 1 person can't sing...

  • is this song supposed to be sad?

  • @shadowdanxiv yea i think so, i think it was supposed to be for mountian of woe

  • @shadowdanxiv its sad that this song isn't in the game

  • @animedude752 It is in the DS version

  • @Subzwari1987 i don't have a ds, but thats great that its in the ds version

  • @Subzwari1987 it's still not quite the same tho... lol

  • @animedude752

if you've got the PSX version, it's in the Music Box but most likely only available after you've gotten one of the numerous New Game+ endings.

  • @winxclublover i got the snes version on my computer

  • 1 person can not play chronotrigger

  • @mistaverse How is that possible!!

There is a version for Snes, PlayStation, NintendoDS,

emulated version on PSP and PC...that person must be the most sad of all the world. (i don't think that Magus could be)

  • where can i get a download or mp3 download for this

  • @SNguyen93 ever heard of zamzar? google it

  • This sounds familiar.

  • @Jewdicris It was "borrowed" from the Laputa: Castle in the Sky theme. Chrono Trigger borrowed many elements from Hayao Miyazaki, most notably from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, from the art to the music. I love Chrono and Ghibli films at the same level (:

  • @pablobanila It actually sounds like a Jewish prayer tune I heard. No joke.

  • makes me think of christmas for some reason

  • @reillo9 apart from the snow and the (what i call) remix of christmas theme

  • This ia an amazing piece! Too bad it got dropped from the original Chrono Trigger, it would have been amazing for the Mountain scenes with the pterodactyls.

  • This song is very beautiful. This music almost reminds me Manoria Cathedral, just a little.

  • This song sounds fantastic when you first hear it, but it gets old really fast. I can understand why they dropped it for CT. It simply doesn't have the classic longevity of all the other tracks.

  • i can seem me playing through this place

  • i remember someone did an awesome remix of this song..but i dont remember whats it called..i dont think it was called Singing Mountains though...but it was this song into a remix..

  • Sounds more like it's an updated version of FF1 music than CT music... or i could be drunk

  • @indricablurrmyIS

Chrono Trigger Millennial Mountain (Delightful Disco Mix)

  • thank you very much!

  • Where was this song being played? i don't remember ever hearing it before...

  • It was unused in the SNES version, although I don't recall exactly why it wasn't. Although I've been told it was used in a newly added location in the DS version of the game (I might be wrong, though).

  • It was unused in the SNES version because Singing Mountain was not included in that game (it wasn't finished enough to put in).

  • This information is correct. The new DS version has a ice mountain section which has this song being played in it. Alright, can I say this? The new stuff is complete trash.

  • Yes, you're allowed to say Lost Sanctum was awful.

This song is awesome though. Amazing how Chrono Trigger's music was almost folksy in nature, the way it stuck so hard in your head.

  • I second that opinion, the Lost Sanctum was just a bunch of stupid fetch-and-carry missions and those bosses that osmose you after every attack and revive eachother if you don't kill them at the same time were more annoying than RickRoll itself.

On the plus side, seeing how the time travel affected that one location was kind of cool.

  • I actually liked the bosses. But I got so sick of that DAMNED MOUNTAIN. I think I actually bashed my head against something when I was told I'd have to bring the Nu lunch a second time.

  • Yeah, I remember that.

Me: OK Nu! Here's your lunch. Now build the stupid bridge already!

Nu: Still hungry. Want sweet yellow thing

Me: GODDAMN YOU AND YOUR SOULLESS FROWN!

  • @captdeelishus You can say that. As much as I love more content, I really didn't like the Lost Sanctum.

  • That's it. I'm gonna make a video comparing this song with Castle in the Sky sometime this week!

  • They had to cut this out of the first game but they did put it in the game for the nintendo DS. I would buy this game if I were you. It has % new places and a ton of new awsome items.

  • So beautiful...

I´m going to use this song on my RPG Maker game, in the Icicle Montain.

  • Me too, but I'm going to recreate singing mountain as a level ;)

  • Beautiful composition...too bad there wasn't a place for it in the final game, but at least they included it on the soundtrack for us to enjoy.

  • isn't Lucy in the sky a Beatles song?

  • I think you mean ''Shine on you crazy diamond''

  • yes thank you, i had a retard moment.

  • @fourstar7 so is this comment >.>

  • omg it's like castle in the sky

  • Why does this sound like Laputa: Castle in the Sky?

Wait a minute, doesn't Chrono Trigger also have a castle in the sky with doors that can be opened by a pendant? :O

  • Excellent! Wait, this stage was lost? Why?

  • too bad singing mountain was taken out of the game(i think)

  • Hey, mountains don't sing! They don't even talk.

    Unless they're advertising Volvic revive.

  • If the Hills can have Eyes, I think Mountains should have the right to sing.

  • Here here. Especially if they're singing something quite this beautiful.

Don't you love the way so many Chrono Trigger pieces have a music box-sounding accompaniment?

  • YESH!!

  • Listen up. I have played Chrono on SNES and never got in touch with DS version.

How is it possiible that I know that song?

  • It was on the soundtrack...wasn't it?

  • Ever watched the movie "Castle in the Sky"...?

  • This sounds like the Laputa: Castle in the Sky theme. Definitely on the money. Definitely.

  • This song is perfectly epic. The music itself is epic, but the wind makes it perfectly epic.

  • This song is in Chrono Trigger DS, in one of the optional dungeons :D

  • why is this not death peaks theme it whould be perfect!

  • More perfeclty if this is the theme when crono revives, when you see the sun's lights getting blocked by the moon, the tree giving live and marle hugging crono and lucca or marle saying: Crono, do not ever let us do this again...

  • I think it should have been Mount Woe's music, since I don't remember it having any, just wind blowing

  • OMG was this really taken out, i played a emulator for this game so i got to hear it. what a same D: its really good

  • Man, you can tell Uematsu composed this just by the style. Why Sqaure removed this songis beyond me but they shouldn't.

  • I think this was made by yasunori mitsuda instead of nobuo uematsu cause mitsuda lost many of his tracks in progress and perhaps this was one of them

  • I heard that Mitsuda had gotten the flu and his computer crashed at the same time. THat could be his lost tracks.

  • This is the best song out of all of them.

  • Should have been used, when you save Crono, would've had an awesome feeling to it.

  • ... I don't recognize this theme... in my cartrige, there's no song, just blowing wind...

Why haven't I heard this before?

  • because it's unreleased in the game. But it's released on the Chrono Trigger Soundtrack. I'm going to find out why it's not implemented in the game and let you know. I'll gather first hand information. ;)

  • i think they removed this song cause it sounds similar to Laputa Castle in the Sky's theme

    look it up

  • Yo, I went to listen to that song and yes, the melody (the woman's vocal) sounds JUST Like the melody for Singing Mountain.

  • A lot of the mountains and places look EXACTLY the same at the top of their cliffs. For example, Dactyl Nest in 65,000,000 BC, the cliff where you fight Magus in 12000 BC, in 600 AD, the mountain where you get the Masamune. I can't find one in 1000 AD, but Death Peak in 2300 AD is like those.

It's a striking similarity: Go up to the very tops and compare these places.

  • The place where Toma's grave in the present fits those as well.

  • This music is in one of the new dungeons in Chrono Trigger DS

  • in fact this music was out before the remake of PS version.. due to the fact that the SNES cartridge cannot hold so much content at that point of time, so was taken out. i heard this music couple of years back.. this was released with the Original OST of SNES CT. I am a very very big fan of CT, my name Glenn was name after from.. my bunch of friends were all assign as a character of the game lol. I was glenn... and i'm proud of that name.

  • i mad me feel so sad.. its feel like that mountain where your speak to a spekkio on the mountain.. instantly made me feel its that scene.

  • Chrono Trigger always makes me feel sad

  • so true

  • specially when you hear at the bottom of the night

  • good tune. freakin' awesome. can't count how many times i replayed CT ..

  • It does, if you listen carefully like the background for example has the wind blowing hard if you can hear it. What I wonder if Singing Mountain is Death Peak from the future since Singing Mountain is in Ayla's time. Since it's covered in snow.

  • I never thought about that. I think it is Death Peak. It must be.

I guess the only way we'll find out it's true purpose is when Chrono Trigger DS comes out.

  • OH damn...sorry, it's only been 10 years since i've played the damn game.

I didn't make it my life.

  • well if you don't play it 4 10 years then

    YOU HAVE GOOD MEMORY

  • It is not Death Peak. This one comes from 65,000,000 B.C. Called Singing Mountain.

  • Thanks, I sort of figured that part out on my own thanks to the chronopendium.

    :]

  • I'm not saying it's the tune that plays in the background for Death Peak. I'm saying that Death Peak is Singing Mountain in the Future. Since this is from the past.

  • that brings an interesting question. Could the Dactly Nest, the masamune mountain, and Death Peak be one in the same?

  • Death Peak is probably Lavos' shell.

Notice that it's in approximately the same place as Lavos' impact, as well as the same area where he came from in 1999.

  • hmm...good point. Never noticed that

  • No.

  • No. Death Peak is a result of Lavos' emergence. Singing Mountain exists in another dimension altogether, as it's located within the Dimensional Vortex.

  • That was just a sidequest...it was originally for a seperate dungeon in Prehistory that was removed because it didn't add much to the plot. Or something to that effect.

  • yes but the wind could also represent a canyon like atmosphere, or a prehistoric era. its been a year since ive clocked it :O, i dont have that big of a memory

  • my favorite song and it got cut out >.> the techno remix is just insaneeeee

  • This would be a really good song for "Chrono Trigger: Prophet's Guile" Seeing Magus as he cries to be finally back home. =)

I haven't seen the vid but it should be in there for a scene like that.

  • Oh yeah, it's not Magus who cries but the kid Janus in him who was lost a long time from home. : P

  • They cut this? Really? Wow. By the gods, Chrono Trigger is an amazing game.

  • How could they cut this from the game? I hope it's on DS...

  • Well I know the DS version is supposed to have extra content, so hopefully this is in the DS version.

  • This dungeon is from the prehistoric age and is practically complete, it was cut out last second and so this has a strong chance of appearing in the DS version.

  • This was originally Aylas sidequest in 65 mil b.c. but it got cut.

  • What was this sidequest supposed to be like?

  • I don't know. They never finished it. If it was anything as good as the music though I would have loved it

  • It sounds like a replacement for the "holy" theme (IE Sun Keep).

  • mabey chrono trigger ds well have this song and its dungeon in it- that would be sweet

  • well, it's supposed to have a new dungeon in it. Adding a dungeon that already has its music and some plans (and programing, IIRC) in the game.

  • This was supposed to play during the scene where they revive Crono on the mountain, I think.

  • it was supposed to be somwehere in 65000000BC i think

  • Perhaps they were thinking about doing a peak like the one in 2300 a.d, it might also explain the box, but not the fire ability of Marle =P

  • possibly the remains of lavos's attack in 12,000

B.C like death peak was made in 1999.a.d

  • this just makes me smile.... especially :36

  • I got this mental image of Frog walking along the Denardo(?) Mountains, where he got the Masamune, reminiscing on his life. Pretty Good Music.

  • I Dont Remember This Atall, Someone Help Me Out Here

  • This song wasn't actually used in any of the parts of the released game. However, it did go with an area that wasn't finished, and the song was already completed. There's also a second battle song

  • Cheers, They Should Have Put It In, More Content Means More Chrono Trigger :D

  • fo sho. i also think they shouldve put in the second batte theme. its really good. none the less the PS chrono trigger made me happy

  • Search For Tyran Castle.

  • They could have placed this song in Death Peak were Chrono comes back to life again.

  • they also couldve put it in the mountain where you get the masamune

  • It could have worked for Death Peak.

  • I heard that they would have also used this song on Mount Woe.

  • A shame this song never made it to the final game. I would've loved to play through the maze it accompanies as well.

  • this song has SO many freaking keys and similarities to the ending song to the movie " castle in the sky " maybe that's why they removed it?

  • You´re right absolutezrow! I checked nad they´re almost same!

  • *and xDxD

  • Lol, so does Rickroll and Robo's theme

  • SAME SONG.

  • I had this poster, too. It's funny to see how wrong everything is in the image.

  • Its just the box illustration. You never fight Yakra in the snow either

  • but isnt that monster the boss called Heckran (something like that), the one that gets in defensive stance and counter-attacks with Water2...?

  • lol yeah, thats who I meant. my bad. But you still don't fight him in the snow. You fight him in a cave

  • Hmm, maybe there was gonna be a quest involving wearing warmer clothes in Antiquity...like Tales of Eternia did with Mount Celsius.

  • Why is marle throwing fire? im preety sure her element was Ice...is it a fire arrow? perhaps? anyway i love this game and that song. thanks for bringing up the memories.

  • i don't remember this song....

  • It's from an unused area, the Singing Mountain, that was gonna be in 65,000,000 BC.

Try searching for images of it on Google or somethin.

  • Is this the music from the secret place on Chrono Trigger?
