  • Shhhhhhhhity

  • This was a mega fail. Needs to be way more staccato and funky feeling. Listen to the original. Stevie doesn't use any parallel fourths. Also, saying "if a song is in A minor it's actually in C" isn't right, either. A minor is the relative minor of C. This song is in Eb minor. That doesn't mean that it's really in Gb.

  • Superstition is funky. That isn't. Need to get rid of parallel fourths and work on a more acceptable version of the riff.

  • man that's not a way to use the fingers... fail

  • What key are you doing this song in?

    And whats the original key?

  • @spikeingshuffler It's F# I believe. That's the key the original is in, because I played and recorded while listening to the original at the same time.

  • @leshmye Original key is Eb

  • @leshmye

    Isn't it in an Eb-scale?

  • @GenomeSoldierDK Sorry for the confusing comments posted earlier. It's a minor song, beginning with Eb minor. However, as far as a key is concerned, the key should be identified as Gb or F#. For instance, if a song is played in A minor, it's actually in the C key.

  • @leshmye

Ah, thank you very much for clearing that up ! :) You learn something new every day ! :)

  • @GenomeSoldierDK he's wrong. Don't listen- relative major may be Gb but it's still in Eb

  • @leshmye Mate, don't confuse things more. The key signatures are the same, but that doesn't mean that the keys are the same. The song is in E flat minor.

(Chord V - B flat 7, around 0:16 to chord I - E flat minor, around 0:18, suggests the key.) The tune is based around E flat penatonic (all black notes).

  • @leshmye To confuse you both even more, it's actually in Eb Dorian; thats actually Db Major (if you look at it from the first step in the chordprogression of Db major, the next is Eb Minor). This is really the only good answer, because the fourth step would normally be a Ab Minor chord, but is in fact a Ab Major. This can only be found in Eb Dorian (the fith step of Db major, or rather Ionic, is always a major chord) (modern model scales).

  • What key is it?

  • @spikeingshuffler F#, I think.

  • this isn't good

  • Nice one leshmye - sounds better than playing the actual riff on its own on piano - clever and.... simple! :)

  • Thank you!!! :)

  • Flippin 'Eck - Slow down so people can keep up and see what your doing!!! Sounded great when you played it though

  • Was trying to follow the original tempo. LOL!

But u can playback at an adjustable speed using MS Windows Media Player, if u download the video. :)

  • @leshmye

This is great - how do you download the vid into WMP format?

  • @Fizzypop1211 Did you mean WMV? You can use DownloadHelper on Mozilla Firefox to download as FLV, then use Replay to convert it to whatever format you want.

  • @leshmye
