  • devil worshiper

  • 1969 was funky year !

  • wow....i think i just read in one of the top comments that lady gaga is an excellent musician and songwriter.....for my own humble opinion, freakin' Sir Elton John is an excellent musician and songwriter, Janis Joplin with one of the best voices in the history was an awesome artist.....i mean lady gaga knows how to play really good the piano, but i don't think i can feel anything when i hear her songs....the only thing i see there is money and record-deals.....

  • 6 to 10 seconds she looks so sexy!!!!

  • Tight band.

  • Elle a l'air en furie!

  • cjvchile23 i hope u get ass kicked whole ure life u retard

  • @mariabbb1964 looks like you're doing a pretty good job of that devil worshipper!

  • @sharonfromtanana Shut The F*ck Up Troll. You Can't Spell Either.

  • @nana78748 you. and i'll bet my ass i'm smarter than you are!

  • @nana78748 you-spelled-fuck-wrong

  • @paul1x1 no i didn't. i don't swear much actually.

  • @nana78748 well-now-you-know-how-to-spell-it-try-to-work-it-into-a-sentence

  • 1 Person tried too hard.

  • Hippo birdies two ewes! RIP Janis!

  • gorgeous!!!

  • There's nothing fake about Janis. Plenty fack about about Dick Cavett though. What a pussy.

  • No gimmics, just raw talent, and still famous today.

  • She lived her life the way she sang..or the other way around. She gave it her all...a brilliant shooting star. Oh..I always loved her outfits, too...looks like she forgoes the makeup at times as well...what a gal!

  • Janis never held anything back when she performed. She was enjoying the music just as much as the audience. It's too bad her friends didn't take better care of her.

  • How beautiful!

  • Happy 69th birthday Janis!

  • the original lady and queen of rock

  • I was able to see Janis Joplin live and i will never forget that EVER!

  • MORE COWBELL! haha sorry i had to.

  • @mrsmojorisin92 never too much cowbell

  • 1.38 : the bass-man agrees!

  • I wonder where music would have gone for women if we had not lost Janis... :(

  • @riodv amy winehouse?

  • Don't diss talented people! Lady Gaga can actually sing live and writes her songs.People may not like her theatrics or her personality(Me being one them) but don't diss her for not having any talent. But of course Lady Gaga's talent doesn't hold a candle to Janis Joplin's :)

    R.I.P Janis

  • and she ain't lip synching.

  • I'm sure that in fews years (and I'm very kind with her), nobody'll remind Lady Gaga. Even, Janis, a lot of people remembers her and in 2011, I'm always moved when I listen to her singing. For me, the best female singer of the world !

  • ...Who is Lady Gaga.......?? Things were waaay better back when special effects was just a couple colored spotlights....and burning your guitar was like....way out there...

  • dont know why people hav to mentin Lady Gaga and Janis Joplin in the same sentence as though one replaces the other.... They are 2 totally different entertainers man....

Love the groove, do what makes you happy and dont hurt no-one

  • I am seeing a lot of comments here about how Lady Gaga doesn't compare to Janis Joplin. You know what? Lady Gaga would be the first one to say how Janis has influenced her and paved the way for her stardom. I am old enough to remember how Janis was run down for her appearance and lifestyle, let alone her singing, and the same thing has happened to Lady Gaga. But as Janis did back in her era, Lady Gaga keeps on keeping on, and doesn't let anyone distract her. Kudos to both of these ladies!

  • @GonzGunner I agree 100%. Lady Gaga has shown massive respect to artists like Lennon and Joplin, who were so groundbreaking. I would bet anything that Janis would have loved Gaga.

  • @ricotinez i bet not, because janis was about "real". gaga is ALMOST as plastic as it gets

  • @Ukabumba Don't get hung up on all the costumes and makeup. Remember that in 1967, there were people who thought Jimi Hendrix was a gimmick because he set his guitars on fire. They missed out on one of the greatest guitarists who ever lived. I watched a Lady Gaga performance and looked past the dance routines and costumes and experienced an excellent musician and songwriter. Great voice, great piano chops, and lots of respect for her predecessors. Ask her buddy Sean Lennon.

  • @ricotinez im just an old man havin a slice of fun pie

  • @ricotinez FUCK lady Caca, she couldn't hold a candle to Joplin. says a lot about the mediocrity worshiping society that gaga is considered great.

  • @iiwatcher Are you a musician? I hope not, because that closed-minded attitude is what kills musical growth.

  • @ricotinez Crap talk. Lack of STANDARDS is what kills musical growth. Or do you consider bubble-gum, generic, McPop bullshit "musical growth?"

  • @iiwatcher agreed

  • @paul1x1 Oh, I get it now. You're a troll. My bad for feeding the troll.

  • @ricotinez there-you-are-i-am-new-to-this-being-a-troll-is-a-bad-thing-correct-i-find-myself-unmoved-at-all-i-think-you-are-a-do-do-face-just-trying-to-stay-on-a-level-you-can-comprehend-breathlessly-awaiting-your-next-peice-of-incisive-banter

  • @walter4092 It depends what you mean. Please clarify because I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Are you saying if Joplin was living now, Gaga would be greater? What do you mean by "greater?" Do you mean a better singer/performer/songwriter, or that Gaga would be more commercially successful?

  • @ricotinez janis-joplin-lady-ga-ga-are-you-kidding-why-would-i-care-who-sean-lennon-likes

  • @paul1x1 chances are, Sean is just a wee bit closer to John Lennon than you will ever hope to be in your insignificant little life. Chances are, he's much closer to the musical spirit and just a tiny bit more musicially educated than you will ever dream to be. That's why.

  • @ricotinez What shit logic. Sean like gaga therefore gaga is great. Sean could just be schmoozing bc of Gaga's fame. In any case, what of the myriad of great musicians who don't like Gaga? Appeal to authority is a logical fallacy. Joplin is better bc she wrote better songs, sang better, and was a better performer. FACT: Gaga is a cookie cut-out, generic pop star who rides mostly on commercial schtick and gimmick.

Reality bites for you doesn't it? ; )

  • @iiwatcher sorry for the misunderstanding , I ment that Janis Joplin even now would be great ,, in my opinion Lady Gaga is nothing compared to Janis .I think i wrote it wrong sorry

  • @walter4092 No need to be sorry--I just wanted to make sure I understood you correctly before responding. I couldn't agree with you more, buddy. ; )

  • pepermint patty...

  • jimi hendrix died at age 27 so did janis, kurt cobain, and jim morrison

  • @thatsheavydude and amy winehouse, who is the closest I can compare of women singers to Janis, but then again, nobody tops Janis, I saw her in concert and I never experienced that much energy from a performer.

  • In her time she was the best woman singer in rock

  • Cavett and Joplin are a strange pair, but to his credit, he interviewed her several times when many would not have her on..........this version of the song really highligts her emotional power in that whitebread world.......it's so sad she left us.

  • im from brasil and i live in the favela

    place qhere everybody listen Funk

    Funk its suck

  • Janis joplin is very very goood i love it

  • Who know about music don t talk bad about lady gaga

lady gaga sing weell and dance well!

  • LADY GAGA SUCKS this is real music I bet kids now a days will not be listening to there shit 40 years later

  • one person didn't try.

  • Speechless; this chic was an and is an inspiration for me to continually work on my pipes. All emotion and talent, thats what she was.

  • Janis was the inspiration for many great rock n roll women singers! Lady Gaga is very smart but doesnt hold a candle to Janis!!

  • tht was great but i did not get dick's joke at the end lol

  • most of today's teenagers- are not musically educated---!!!!

  • jaja la persona que le puso no me gusta esta sorda xD

  • I think if she would be alive these days it wouldn't be the same, she wouldn't be such a myth. Rest in peace Janis, we love you, stay up there you're in a better place than here...

  • Damn she is wonderful!!!!

  • jonell must be a cousin 3 times removed

  • HEROIN WLL KILL ANY1 WHO LUVS IT.JANIS WILL ROK 4EVR THO

  • Well, more than 40 years later are we going to be watching Gaga? Lose no sleep friend...

  • This trumpeter looks like Pablo Escobar...

    xD

  • Janis was definately a pioneer for especially, all of the up and coming female rock singers.

  • gaga is the moment - janis for ever ........

  • Janis rocks, GaGa is a sideshow.

  • This is what I remember about how good the music was back then. The shitty sound systems that were around, especially on T.V. and if you were great like Janis, it didn't matter. Pure, raw, unadulterated talent.

  • Well, I'm all yours.

    RIP MY ONLY LOVE!

  • Janis!!!!!

  • The drummer looks creepy. D:

  • You can't auto-tune that kind of performance...

  • @chiachuck in the world of auto-tune Janis Joplin doesnt exist. That is evidence alone that Auto-tune is a piece of shit

  • Sympathy to anyone who's never had Janis in their lives. So many generations growing up, unaware that this ever happened. No one, male or female, let it all hang out like Janis! Even just a TV spot - didn't matter to her, she gave it everything, and a little more. She's a role model for how rock should be performed - from the gut and from the soul. But kids, stay off the heroin!

  • I feel way too much regret coming from the 1960's generation so, please get out of the new one if ya cant understand cause the times they are a changin'. at least someone got it right.

  • only one person doesn't like this vid. :)

  • A great, authentic talent. Nothing can touch this.

  • only 27 we lost her way too early

  • Just great!

  • I love what she says about Tina Turner and the look on her face when she mentions Ike being the bandleader says alot. I lover her she's truly an original.

  • 800 views for janis and 1.000.000.000 for lady gagegigoguga! what a fucked up generation.

  • @nico19611

    You said it, baby.

  • @ChopstickBrando thanx, man! the generation of old cats will not founder without a big roar.

  • @nico19611 yeah, but WE fkn made it here! cheers to us.

  • @nico19611 And in 11 months, 18,000 more people watched this. Haha.

Funny that 5 months after this was uploaded, only 800 people watched this, and then 11 months after that, the rate of views per day (or any given period of time, really) increased significantly.

  • @YourFaceWillDie468

You have a problem with that? I do not.

    Get a life.

    The Stiglaa xx

  • @stiglaa No, I do not have a problem with that. I'm sorry if my comment was misunderstood; I was simply pointing out an interesting fact that I guess few other people besides myself would have even bothered to figure out. Don't tell me to get a life.

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 If I wish too I will. Thats the way I am. I am not willing to change myself for you or anyone.. So just spit out what you meant by your comment about the people that have watched this. Otherwise you come over as bitchy.

    The Stiglaa .

  • @stiglaa When did I ask you to change yourself? I only asked you not to be impolite. Just pointing out something interesting and useless. That's all. My comment was entirely harmless.

  • @stiglaa And I agree that more people should pay attention to Janis Joplin and that Lady Gaga is given too much exposure.

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 that's because people these days don't realize the difference between entertainment & brainwashing versus music

  • @nico19611

I think...this was said by every aging generation about the younger generations...thats the run of time...every generation has its own "heros" in music...

  • @nico19611

Exactly. Lady Gaga, is just that. Great PR Company, Great Songwriters for her songs. A total PR Stunt.

With you all the way Nico xx

    The Stiglaa xx

  • @nico19611 thats what the older generations said about the 60's and 70's crowd. but this time, you're right. my generation is fucked!

  • @nico19611 we lost her to early. Drugs are bad! :( But the GaGa generation is it's own generations. Every generation has their music hero's...nothing wrong with that.

  • @nico19611 I agree wholeheartedly, i think there has always been crappy music around, just now there is so much mroe of it. Alas, we are losing our way

  • amazing
