I remember when this was in the making. I was still back in my hometown. This is one of my favorite songs then and now. The message this give to the world is amazing, the love we have for everyone can't be contain in a single note, nor music deliver its melody without the love we feel in our hearts. This gives more meaning now that I am married to one ARMY SOLDIER who fought for our freedom..freedom that isn't free. I dedicate this to the TROOOPS!!!

This aired at Misawa AFB in January of 91 when we were stationed there, i was a teenager then and we all would sit and watch and listen on the radio and wonder when our dads or moms would go, you can call it propaganda or cheese or anything else, but when you are in another country during the war and you are constantly worried about threats against you, it's nice to see that people care. I think we all sat around and cried, and we appreciated it.

I was in Camp Lejeune waiting for deployment when I first hear this song. I remember being so alone without my family and then I heard this song... I hope the writers and celebrity know how much this song meant to me and many others.. even after all these years this song touches me.

Even if the media or celebrities aren't taking it upon themselves to make another support or tribute event like this, the sentiment is the same now.

There ARE people over here that DO care, DO worry, and DO want each and every military (and civilian) member over there to return home quickly and safely, even if we can't write a snappy new tune or shoot a fancy celebrity-laden video about it.

I went into the Air Force in March of 91 (not long after this had come out) I was fortunate enough to attend Tech School at a base where i became part of a squadron that featured a chorus ensemble... and i had the priviledge of sharing the lead vocals on this song as we sang with the Air Force Band of the Midwest... this song really takes me back.... tears still come when i hear this song!!!

Remember watching this right around the super bowl through tears as we thought about our dad that was deployed. Brings back a lot of memories, thankful my dad came home safe and sound. God bless all of our troops and our veterans!

I was in the first Gulf war. It was different , I wasn't in any real danger but I was scared at times. I know now that I was in danger. I was just a stupid kid that didn't see what was going on. Kids are like that. I remember when I was in Saudi and we got the video ... I can't express to you what it was like seeing that. It made all the difference. Those of us that were there were blessed to feel so special. Also I remember seeing Celine and thinking she was unbelievable. It was really special.

Could these scenes ring just as true today? It seems like we're stuck in a loop -- our brave men and women fighting a senseless war and losing their lives. 1991 or 2009? Different years, clothing and hair styles, but still the same fight.

@CEDwyer1969 Except now no one is releasing videos or tributes to the troops. Especially now that Obama is Pres. Once they couldn't use the body count to bash Bush they couldn't care less. Obama isn't bringing them home anytime soon and all those "bring em home now" voices are strangely silent.

Now more people are more outraged at Kanye West dissing Taylor Swift than whats going on in the wars.

i took have been over seas its not the best place but i spent a lil over a year in iraq and we never got anything like this as much as i wished we did we didn't i remember when this came out i was in elementary school and my father was still in the military we were stationed in ft. hood texas, but its never too late to get people together and make a video like this to show the love from family and friends back in the states, and to my brothers in iraq we miss you and come home safe

i think this is a very important yet highly emotional video because i was in the Navy at the time the Gulf War broke out and my brother was over near Saudi Arabia in the Marines. I can remember talking to my mom on the phone and she was crying because we didn't know where he was exactly. Even though we are both Veterans now, it's still hard thinking about that but this video is still very important for all our troops who are on the battlelines today.

Thank you to everyone that wrote to the us in the Gulf War in 1990-1991. I was there in an Armor Division. We did not know about this song but I heard it when I got home. This is a beautiful song. Let me tell you it was an honor to serve on behalf of all those who believe in freedom and those who came before us. The support at home made a huge difference to me during the sand storms so please keep letting our troops know you care. Thanks again.
