  • Its very good but the reindeers sound a little retarded and slow no offence.

  • would you be interested in selling one of these reindeer puppets?

  • @gamramor Sorry, I don't sell any of my props. Thanks for watching!

  • AWSOME lol funny and enjoyable make more dude thier awsome all these other people could not do half as good as you ...cool

  • Great job !

    I really enjoyed it.

Love the details and ofcourse the reindeers.

    Nice. :)

  • cool awesome animation everyone hates Americans?...damn anyway really enjoyed it.

  • Yeah, I'm not sure what yesidjimenez's problem was, but apparently, the guy doesn't like "Americans". His reference to "Americans", or "American humor" had nothing to do with this short film.

  • yea

  • american stupidity is considered; jokes that only north americans understand that generally are bad to the world, and generally ruin movies, things that just look silly to the world, (example: farts in almost every comedy, that's silly!). then when I say that live action did not match, I meant content, in other words serious animation thecniques against drunk man's poor dialogue, personally it burned the story. all the rest is well made

  • Interesting analysis... Despite your denial, you are defining bigotry when you imply that only a certain group (Americans) of people exclusively think or behave in a certain way (bad humor). On a deeper level, this short film is a social commentary on the work force where those that do all the real work rarely receive any credit for their efforts (elves working year round vs. reindeer working once a year). There are no fart jokes here.

  • @yesidjimenez You are a fucking Izrael jew! Die mother fucker, die!!!

  • SHort ruined by american stupidity what a shame :(

  • What made it so bad? What, specifically, ruined it. Or, was it really just bigotry that ruined it?

  • not bigotry, I just feel that the live action footage did not match such a good puppet work. it looses the magic of animation when not applied carefully.

Santa character needed to be more believable

  • Then what does "american stupidity" have to do with the poor compositing between live action and stop motion?

  • and the elf is boozin it up lol

  • haha, i love the reindeer's voice

  • How to you make the LINDGREEN VIDEO PRODUCTIONS?

  • Magic!! No, it was developed on aftereffects I believe.

  • do u use stopmotion pro, oh and wat kind of c camra do u use like dv cam, digital still, web cam or special stopmotion cam

  • You can use whatever you want. Stopmotion Pro is expensive and complete overkill unless you're shooting professionally. I shoot on a Sony PD-150 (completely unnecessary for Youtube content) and I use istopmotion 2 for frame capture. Whatever you do, don't use a web cam.

  • web cams work really good if your not trying to make a biig professinoal video i use a web cam in my videos

  • I'm not a big fan of web cams as they are, quite literally, the bottom of the barrel in video quality/resolution. For Youtube, a suppose a web cam is fine, but try watching web cam content on an HD T.V.. Web cams also make it difficult to perform chroma key effects and other aspects of videography where high resolution and lighting are important.

  • Hey dude its me the guy who sent you that question. Oh my favorite parts in this was when you said "Who the hell is Andy the elf?" and when Comet said "Your drunk" makes me laugh always. Also when you where hit that was funny to and your new voice. Ha Ha

  • really? well it kinda makes sense to me now how they got their figures to be able to move like that.

  • hey dude nice video, it sort of reminded me of those old rankin bass specials they used to air on TV, great work with the reindeer knocking you over it slmost looked real. this project must have taken you a long time to put together, I have a few animations under my belt also but yours make mine look like total crap, with mine I take the robot chicken aproach by using old toys and action figures I've collected for my characters.

  • Thanks, glad you could enjoyed it. Robot Chicken models really aren't toys. They put professional grade armatures inside models designed to look like old toys. I believe they make moulds from real toys as the basis for their models. Anyway, it's a great show!

  • Excellent job and I appreciate you putting up a making of. Terrific models. I wonder if you had used faux fur on the models if it would've increased the realism or looked fake. I also wish the voices had been a bit better but considering you did it all yourself- very impressive.

  • Fur on stop mo models is tough since the fur moves every time to move the model. See "Dino Dreams". The Terror bird has real feathers and rabbit fur to represent its coat. The reindeer models here have sculpted fur. Yes, the voices have some problems. The Elf's voice has too much reverb in it, and I had difficulty creating different voices for the reindeer. I did everything myself, so I had to try and conceil that fact by coming up with synthesized versions of my voice.

  • Yeah, I seem to recall reading that about real fur. It's amazing you did all this yourself. I wish I could build armatures/models like that. Very impressive.

  • i saw it, liked it, and im quiet as promised!

  • I'd prefer more substantial commentary. Terrancio, I know you're not shy, so feel free to offer any type of review. Just don't insult me.

  • It was GREAT! I loved it !!! Must have been taking you alot of time to do it. Everything was good.. Visuals, Sounds... :)

  • wow great

  • The animation was great. Visuals were good. But the story felt to dragged on and the voices for the rain deers needed more emotion. But over all it was good.

  • Thanks for the comment. I created this by myself, so I play all the character voices. You can manipulate your voice only so many times! I checked out your channel. You appear to have an interest in CGI. Check out The Gnat and the Lion for CGI.

  • Great Job man, I have been meaning to make a stop motion movie somtime. But I haven't gotten around to getting a good Camera for it. I really like this one though, nice.. haha... I liked you as the Elf.. It was amusing.. honestly.

  • Glad you liked it! Good luck on your stop motion project. They're a lot of fun.

  • hey you make them models ?

anyways very good home made anime movie.

    5 stars..no make it 5 ♥'s for you.

    ♥♥ Cupid ♥♥

  • Yes, I do make models. Not the ones seen here, though.

  • oh where you get these reindeer models ?

  • They were used and originally made for a mid 90's Saturday morning children's show called "Bump in the Night". Specifically, they were used in the X-mas episode, T'was the Night before Bumpy.

  • great work

  • Very kewl !!!

  • lol comet would do that too. lol

  • awesome !!

  • thats must have look at long time to make, great work. I'm adding your movie into my favs and into my videolog, so my deer friends can see it.

  • Star Wars Fan? I am. I am in preproduction of a Star Wars movie. I'll tell you when it's done.

  • when you buy the armatures do you buy the pre-made ones or do you buy the parts and make them yourself? Also, is there a version of iStopmotion for pc or only mac

  • I believe iStopmotion is for Mac only, but there are plenty of frame capture programs. The Armaverse armatures are sold in pieces. You have to build them.

  • those armatures from armaverse are expensive those musthave been $200 each. Anyway is that stop motion program you mentioned(i think it was like iStopMotion)easy to use and work with. Thanks

  • Yes, iStopmotion is easy to work with. Armaverse armatures really aren't that expensive. More like $130. They work well for certain types of characters like robots where you have access to the screws.

  • Lovely!

Was the scream of the raindeer from one of the Cratures from Star Wars episoe IV??

  • Yes, I sneaked in some Star Wars sound effects. At one point the Reindeer bellows out a Tauntaun scream before he attacks. There is also a Wilhelm scream that the elf makes when he gets hit by the reindeer.

  • Ok ; )

  • much better than the rudolph the reindeer movie. in that movie the animation was AWFUL. good job with yours

  • haha, love how you used the wilhelm scream when one of the reindeer knocks you down :).

Your movies inspired me to start making a serious stop motion movie myself.

Only problem is: I don't quite know what's the best material to use for green screen/blue screen.

    What did you use?

  • I use neon green poster board for miniatures and neon green fabric for full scale. My films are made using the cheapest materials and software programs. The most expensive aspect of my films are my models and miniatures.

  • Hmm...just hmmm. I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the others, but still a good job of putting it together.

  • Wilhelm Scream. Love it.

  • There are a lot of other "hidden" sound effects. Like when the Reindeer screams out a Taun-Taun bellow.

  • Star Wars Fan? I am. I am in preproduction of a Star Wars movie. I'll tell you when it's done.

  • You're working on a Star Wars fan film? That makes two of us. You can never have enough Star Wars fan films. Mines called Purge. It's loosely based on the Dark Horse comics.

  • If you consider a stop motion to be a fan film, then yes.

  • No, not really. A would consider a fan film a copy of the methods and story of the originals.

  • I don't really have enough money to make what you consider a fan film. I have action figures and I am a video game geek, so I have Star Wars video games. But I'm desperate for Views and comments so please watch it when it's done. Please. I'm also a Jurassic Park fan.

  • By the way, my Star Wars film is almost done. It's a very funny film. I do my stop motion at 10 frames per second so it gets done very fast.

  • Mines a little on hold right now. I'm switching gears right now on an X-men film.

  • Mines on hold 2. It may never happen. Now I'm working on the story of Carl Akley, the greatest hunter ever.

  • MAKE IT HIGHER.

  • Huh?

  • Too low of a framerate...

it should be more than 12 fps.

My movie "Post Office Blues" was done in 12, and 12 is about where it actually looks like a stop mo.

  • It was animated at 30 fps, not 12 fps. However, after Youtube's rediculously lame compression capabilities, what you're looking at is 15 fps. So, you're missing have the movie! Looks much better on DVD.

  • Makes sense.

    Why don't you try Revver?

  • Don't know what "Rewer" is.

  • It's another video hosting site... it hosts in high quality as well as paying you (if the advertisement at the end is clicked or not)

    (I didn't notice I changed accounts, I'm Public Access)

  • lovin it!

  • Love the new voice! 5 stars, 'Andy'! By the way, you should have made the toy have the credit say 'Tomy' or 'Marvel'.

  • I'm a big comic book nerd. Of course this means I collect figures too. I think the higher pitched voice makes the whole thing funnier. Thanks!
