  • GODZIRRA

  • BEAST!

  • looks like balad- those things sounded like it was going off in my bathroom-hell of a way to get woke up. and always wondered if those things were so good how come they was all t-walled and sandbagged like fort knox

  • those bullets have to come down...

  • @daf867 they're exploding bullets, no large deadly rounds would come down

  • so do the bullets shoot the mortar in mid air?

  • @Malunat13 yep. CIWS are designed to take out missiles zoning in on ships, so a flying mortar round, provided it can be effectively tracked, shouldn't be too difficult to take out.

  • what happens if a seagull flies over the base :(

  • @fwbfwb that is one fucked up bird................ lol would be juice before it even knew what happened

  • this is exactly what happens when you mess with American soldiers....you get three thousand rounds per second....nice job

  • what happens when those large bullets land?

  • They dont land they self destruct in the air

  • i really don't belive that

  • @popmihai2000

Then educate yourself before making yourself look like a jackass. They DO infact explode in the air whether they hit a target or not. Believe it.

  • Looked like one of the rounds ricocheted off the mortar round.

  • did the mortar explode in the ground? or got hit by the bullets?

  • Yeah I've seen soldiers die from Mortars, so yeah its worth it to shoot some rounds at it... dipshit

  • Those rounds don't cost thousands. In fact it probably cost less to produce those rounds than it did to produce the mortar round and the tube that fired it.

  • LOL you kidding me right???? WOW...each 20mm bullet cost 5 dollars. you take into account that the phalanx can shoot more than 3000 rounds per minute, and well, u get the idea...

  • you wanna tell the mum of the soldier, killed by a mortar round, that 10.000$ are to much to save the live of her son ?

In addition .. what do you think, will it cost when the mortar round will blow up in the base, to rebuild everything gettin destroyed.

  • did i fuckin say that? did u really derive that from my comment?? no matter what, cost is not an issue when it comes to saving lives, even one soldier. its costly, but every soldier that comes back alive due to this is worth it.

  • And when one of those mortar rounds totals a fully outfitted humvee, at a cost of $1,000,000, those rounds are worth it.

  • More like 150k.

  • one mortar round can do a lot of damage, both in terms of loss of life, equipment, and strategic position.

  • is beter 2 waste bullets than a soldier

  • except in ww1

  • Awsome vid of Phalax :) And dont mind the rounds comming down they exploede after a while in the air.

  • Happy Christmas... insurgents! ha ha ha

  • rounds are high explosive and destroy themselves, thats what the crackling is after they are fired. nothing falls to earth

  • phalanxs are fuckin mad

  • how do you know.... were you there?

  • Thank you navy. You dont need it, but FOBs do.

    Thank you navy.

    AF

  • I think people should invest in Raytheon Technologies.I am sure glad I have these at my base! I have seen them work well so far.

  • sweet well thaks very much. i think i will ask people and find out why we dont have them, im sure it got something to do with money. thanks again for anwsering my questions

  • ok so if you are throwing all them round up in to the sky what about where they fall. what about people that might get hit by the falling round?

i think that is a very smart bit of kit would love to see a couple of them around the apod in the mod south east

  • is that for rockets so that the heat signature gos to them things of is it to actualy try and shoot the mortar while its in the air?

  • why done the brits have that. god our armys pants

  • CRAM kicks *ss!!!

  • That's a CRAM and you CAN hear the klaxon if you listen at around 12s and again at around 20s.

  • Very Well done. Those guys taking care of those systems over there are making me damn proud. I have a cold beer waiting for you Beas. Nice shot.

  • yer my mistake, i mis interpreted the CWIS fire. =(

  • WOW. That is one fuckin bad ass gun. A fantastic machine of death!!!

  • haha that thing used to scare the fuck outa me specialy if u were near the px when it when off

  • Alright, alright, whose turn is it to reload the ammo drum?
