Isaac had two sons, and it was only through Jacob that the land was given to the Jewish people. Which brings us back to reality. A land belongs to the conquering force. Israel won, the Arabs lost. End of story. And that is international law!

There are arab israelis, law abiding citizens of arab descent, who stayed in Israel, became citizens, and oppose the idea of a palestinian state due to the fact that Palestine and Hamas are in practice, terrorist entities. What Israel did in the past was wrong, in driving out arab people from Israel, but the answer isn't indoctrinating children to be suicide bombers.

Obama wasn't right to instruct/request Israel to withdraw the current borders, as it's quite obvious that Israel needs to keep that border in order to stand any chance at fending off hostile ground forces. However, I'll be voting for Ron Paul in 2012, and his foreign policy involves withdrawing financial aid to all countries including Israel. We're in the midst of our own economic crisis and can't afford to be propping up all these warring nations, not to mention trying to police the world.

Also, when Israel fled Jerusalem in 70AD, the land became terra nullius (go look it up).
