Planned Parenthood should be stripped of funding. The U.S. Congress stripped ACORN of it's funding. When the Republicans regain the majority of both the Senate and the House next year, Planned Parenthood should be investigated and be stripped of funding by the U.S. Congress.

It's just so hypocritical of the left to complain about financial institutions receiving federal money for their inmoral actions but keep funding Planned Parenthood for their inmoral actions. The Hyde amendment only says that no FEDERAL funds can be used for abortions with some exceptions. They're talking about California state tax dollars, and the Hyde Amendment doesn't dictate if individual states should cover abortions or not, as per the 10th Amendment. Second point, Planned Parenthood receives federal tax dollars through Title X, which is a convenient loophole for Planned Parenthood to receive federal funds as a abortion provider.

Title X allows for the payment of taxpayer money into family-planing programs (including PP). However, the stipulation is that none of the money paid can go into funding abortions. However, when you give money to an organization that performs abortions, even if the money is not used to purchase abortion equipment or pay doctors, the end result is the same, since you've freed up other money of theirs. Hence, loophole.

It's very likely, I'd say certain, that PP uses these funds to provide abortions, and even if they aren't used specifically for that, it's all the same. That money just frees up "other" money to use for abortions. Separating the funds is just a gimmick and doesn't mean anything. I'm not being antagonistic, just pointing out the fact that JM is right.

@Sueezee1 Planned Parenthood may not provide more abortions than all other sources combined, but they are the largest single abortion provider in the U.S. They haven't released their 2009 report as far as I know. The most recent info I could find was for 2008 ( more than 300,000 abortions). I am actually well-educated on abortion and Planned Parenthood. I have done quite a bit of research on them. Calling me names won't prove your point, but send me your sources and I will look it up for myself.
