  • Lobukhin, is next to Godliness here...hahaha!!! Strong, powerful, masculine, abundant presence and STYLE. (love the combre after the cabrioles). Funny posts!

  • Amazingly clean.

  • The turn at 2:24 was sick!

  • 5:09 basil!!

  • Near disaster at 5.54!

  • YES VERY NEAR,BUT MAY HAPPEN

  • Delightful to watch. They had chemistry that came arcoss the utube. Imagine that. Loved this post.

  • She's a beautiful strong balerina.

But I cannot forget maybe 15 year old Stepanova stepping onto stage as Kitri.

    You sppoil me too much!

And it's sad to loose Lobukhin, I like his unique interpretation always with a bit of humour in it.

  • This was great, but the nagging question remains: why did Lobukhin leave? Did he see handwriting on the wall that was invisible to others? He is a big, strong man with fine stage presence, is a fine partner and fine dancer.

  • He wasn't a principal with the Mariinsky.

  • I like her a lot, but I'm not in love. I'm with you on Stepanova, though :-)

  • Lobukhin's a good partner - shows off his ballerina well - and has a great physique and presence, as well as being technically very strong. Perren is adorable, as always!

  • Lobukhin is great! How could Mariinsky allow Bolshoi to take him away?

  • Mikhail Lobukhin(1st I see) brings the excitement I felt when I first saw another Mikhail named Baryshnikov. Nough said.

    LOVE! This post Keti.

  • danny this guy is ok but this comparation is a little generous in my opinion

  • Enrico, The word "Excitement" is not an artistic comparison. It is what the word means. I am no fool to compare anyone to the incomparable God of ballet Mikhail Baryshnikov.

  • You must be kidding.

Or maybe it's better to be a little of a fool? Well, at least sometimes...

When ballet is concerned, I'm an atheist.

There's no god in ballet imo.

    Lobukhin's good, btw.

  • MagnumSuper- I am nobody's fool. As for Baryshnikov, IMO he danced like a God onstage.Offstage, he was just another trashy mortal.

  • Ok, speakin' on your terms there were rather many Gods))) in ballet of 70-s: Nureev, Lavrovsky, Maris Liepa, Misha, I'd add Bujones, Gordeev, to name few. But The God was only one - Vasiliev.

I'm not his raving fan still, but judging by some criteria, such as virtuosity, artistical impact, number of various modern and classical roles, longevity (more than 30 active years in classical ballet)! - he's The God of male dancing of XX century.

God, I hate this comparison, sorry.

  • @magnumSuper, this is how a think, the god of male dancer in ballet is nijinsky, the best dancer of the xx century is nureyev, but the best dancer in the world is baryshnikov, i nowadays i think simkin is one of the greatest

  • My friend, this is stupid, sorry, no offence. I mean telling who's the best is stupid.

I told somewhere on YT and I'll repeat once again: it's like telling who's the best - Rachmaninov or Mozart.

There is no the best dancer. Never was and never will be.

It'd be more appropriate to tell who's your favorite.

As to Nijinsky, I bet you've never seen him dance. I'm afraid you'd have been dissapointed.

  • @magnumSuper nata the reason of the legend of nijinsky is because was never filmed ,if he had been would be the same kind of level of pavlova or karsavina, that with all respect being filmed appairs today not so good ,no reasons nijinsky was different style dancer, despite the fact he was surely the best of his time.

  • @magnumSuper finally you admittad volodia is volodia.

  • @pediatrapaola I never denied Volodya's Volodya, but still - he's not my favorite, you know that.
