even at the time, I thought, "if the walls are strong enough to crush, then they're just going to knock their stone selves right over." they should have lied down on the floor first.
People talk about Aerith's death in FFVII, but to me, the transformation and forced battle with Edge's parents, only for them to regain their sanity and kill themselves in battle, remains the most heartrending moment in videogame history.
@greenskiis this moment was heartbreaking, and maybe i was just the right age for aerith's death to hit home -- i just think it was so shocking and unexpected. edge's parents you didn't have much of an emotional investment in -- aerith you were with long enough to come to love, and to root for her and cloud. still, this is definitely a powerful moment.
never thought id see this game on youtube lol im stilling playing this game beat it some many times however im in thr process of doing certain stuff in the game to see if the tactics increase the chances of getting certain items such as when you lose these 2 in this vid go to the elder he will say something differant and also when you lose Tellah as well and rosa's grandmother will when you get rosa back and the girl that dances at baron after killing the fake king she does a differ dance u 2
FFIV was my first RPG, this is waaaay back. I loved the story so much, it had a lot of sorrow and sacrifice for all the characters, almost every character was thought to be dead or dieing at one point or another, so this song had a lot of uses in it. FF4-7 are my favorites, the new ones just dont seem to be as good to me, I guess Im too old now.
I think the DS sprites of the characters, the 3D spritres made some of the game a bit more comical... but other times, it was like "Whoa... that's intense."
I know everyone thinks 3 & 7 are the best in the serious, but Final Fantasy 2 will always be my favorite. The story was beyond amazing. I will treasure this game for as long as I live. Sacrifice for those you love is a powerful virtue most have forgotten.
for anyone that doesnt own this game, buy it as fast as u can, its a very fun game, full of twists and turns in the story plot, not to mention the magnet level where u cant wield weapons or armor, or the tower of zot. not to mention goblez, thats a story of its own right there...
yeah this was the first story I'd ever heard with any sort of serious emotional situations in it so I was like... "oh my gosh" I think I just grew up !
Not my favorite FFIV piece but still a great song. My actual favorites are Theme of Love and Red Wings, too bad neither made your top 30 list. Both IMO are some of best music to come from the SNES and some of the best from the entire Final Fantasy series.
- as all of the music in this game, as well as in most other games, was designed to loop. that said, it repeats *very well*, and all of his pieces implore you to be moved by the moment in the game.. they still impress me.
I'm probably gonna get flamed for this, but to me it seems like most of Nobuo Uematsu's pieces finish prematurely. Don't get me wrong, he has many pieces that i adore, but some like this one will have a great feel and then they will either change direction, or finish abruptly.
Well for this game they loop pretty quickly, but this was one of the first new games for the SNES, he'd only done NES scores before, so he can be forgiven for a lack of exploring the hardware.
@DemonsCrest1 you have to remeber he only has so much space to work with on a limited format so he can't spend as much time as many of us wish he could.
At least I only like this tune cause I love seeing those spoony characters die and I wish this played when I was killing all my annoying allies.

If you have a Wii you should try to get FFIV: The After Years, very interesting and odd events occur.
Best of all it's got the original game play. :)

Interesting though, much of this song sounds very similar to "Find Your Way" from Final Fantasy 8.

DemonsCrest is right about that I think. I have the official soundtrack for this game and it does end too soon. In game though it isn't noticeable.

Fair enough, but I think when the song is used in the actual game the abrupt ending is almost unnoticeable.

the length of Dancing Mad more than makes up for that flaw

@DemonsCrest1 IMO it's not so much that it ends abruptly, its that it kind of gets to that "loop point" a little too hastily.
