  • the luminus sst90 is as old as the ssc p7. and you are a moron if you call th p7 the brightest led!

    failbird

  • @muffty1337 cheak my other led videos more up to date

  • Britest. Fail

  • Would you be willing to make one and ship it to me? If so, how much would you charge?

  • @rchdude1 This is a prot-tyip its not heat sinked , recomend links above 20-30$ p7 or xlm 1000 luman!

  • I just coldent see the diffrence

  • hahhhah fuck head

  • I have a Streamlight Stinger that I carry at my police department. Is this LED capable of being mounted? I have two of these flashlights and wouldn't mind experimenting with one of them. I have the Stinger LED and the PolyStinger DS LED....Both essentially the same except the body on one is a nylon polymer body

  • Great job man 50 min not bad at 900 Lumen thanks for post.

  • Lol people who dislike this shined the torch in their eyes!

  • What you appear to have achieved is impressive.

Lots of people watch this sort of vid hoping to attempt a duplication.

But you offer little, no details of BOM, no email for those genuinely interested in asking for some help, & little to reassure us that you really have this thoroughly tested.

You have shown off your skills now how about a useful "how to" backup?

  • Does this run for about 30 seconds before it overheats?

  • @rocketman221projects LED's don't overheat due to it's design. you just have to keep a curtain current so it doent blow up the LED.

  • Wicked Lazer Torch may be the brightest, but it's not LED....he doesn't claim to be the brightest ever, just the brightest LED.

  • 3 miles what a retard, his voice sucks homo tooo, i bet he has a husband

  • 3 Miles? thats around 15,800 ft I don't believe it

  • LONG<LONG<LONG way from the brightest led flashlight. My WICKED LAZER TORCH light has 4100 lumens, no miss type 4100 lumens and I don't think that even that is the most powerful flashlight in the world, but then again it might be.

  • led lenser x21 will whip its ass!

  • how do you dissipate the ehat incurred by the led ? i have 1 watt leds right now and at full power they get hot enough kill them selves

  • learn english man,the last sentence is tottaly wrong you piece of stupid shit, fuck your led flashlight my asshole is brighter

  • how the hell do you put it together? an instructional video would help a lot.

  • Can you make lightsaber with that LED? :D

  • Hey jayandersons,

    The flashlight looks great!

Thanks for the video but I can't find a following video on how you did the conversion. Did you have to buy a special heat sink for the LED?

I noticed on some specks that it may need one.

Also does it burn up if you have too many mil-amps or is it just too many volts?

  • lol imagine putting 100 or 200 of those leds in one flashlight.

  • THis would be great for a weapon light. I think i might find a way to shove one of these LED's into a body that will fit on my rifle.

  • HOLY FUCK.

  • landing lights on space shuttle is like a bicycle lamp compared to this lol

  • i made my white led light turn purple

  • 20 times briter huh

  • ''This is my new BATTERY OPERATED Solder iron...''

  • i have a strion can i put an ssc-p7 led.please if ican can you show me how tu due please

  • @jim7771977 I'm sorry i never herd of a strion. most drop ins are shure fire or uatra fire compatable the dx web site list the sizes and brands that fit. and you can try candle power forms for info. p7 lights can be bouth for 20$ now! at dx check links above.

  • How long does the charge hold ?

  • what is all of this junk hes talkin bout...i dont comprehend....im a sixth grader....haha

  • ESL?

  • You have a quad core. I have an i7.

  • NERD!!!

  • @treyboy102598 that means hes more sucsessfull than you are and get more girls and i better job witch = more money so i think hes doing perfectly fine being a so called "nerd".

  • @treyboy102598 that just means hes better than you because i bet he gets paid alot for doing what he does unlike your "job" and because hes so smart i bet he gets more money than you and alot more girls so i tihnk hes fine being a so called "nerd"

  • @TWSS831 im 13 stupid....srry if i insulted u

  • @treyboy102598 nerd? is that supposed to be an insult? who do you have to thank for your phone? nerds.. ur PS3/XboX/Pc ? Nerds, what about your ipod, or Car Stereo? nerds...

So in case you used it as an insult id say ur way off. because nerds gave you the lux you have today. you should thank them

  • the 40 lumen torch is betta cause it looks Blue/purple!!!!

  • Do you need to use a power controller? I can't seem to find a flashlight to be able to fit the power controller and LED. The power controller I am using is the one you suggested in your other video with 2 ssc-p7. Which flashlights do you use for your projects?

  • are you dreaming ? worlds brightest flashlight ?

3 miles ? the quad led is not throwing at all !!!

    900 lumens is NOTHING -

get a SST 90 and run it on 8 amps, thats bright ( 2200 Lumens )

and not even the SST90 can do a mile.....

    get real.

  • Another thing you need that you left out of this video, is spell check. I guess your not the "britest" bulb in the bunch.

  • Wow that's amazing!

I'd love to take 3 of those and place them in a big mag light or something :p

Do you think you could do something like that?

  • Wow u realy did it ... :D

Alright lets build a 10 Watts LED's in a small Dorcy Light, oh , wow it gets hot... it gets realy hoooot ... woooow its massively hot, wow now its not that bright anymore, wow know it dont work anymore ... :D Guy ! Come on ! Give this led some kind of heatdissipation ! this Light sucks ! :)

  • enjoy your 5 minute run time

  • @zillsburyy im darwing 2-2.8 amps it's 2amp hr battery so run time is 40-50 min.

    leds are 96% efishent.

  • @jayandersons your light has the same LED as my MTE P7D

  • @jayandersons~ REALLY?!.... THATS HOW U SPELL "EFISHENT"?!?

    LOL!

  • @marek0086

Marek, he is an American and he was taught in school bad spelling... to piss off ALL the other nations!!!

They are doing it on purpose! NOBODY is THAT STUPID! They just think they are "cool" by doing it!

It's like: "Look how stoopid I am, I can't even write in my own language.... and I STILL have better life than YOU, hahahaha!"

    seriously.

  • @PawelKolasa I'm an American too. We're not all taught bad spelling. I, for instance, was educated at home by my parents, since they actually cared about the quality of my education.

but i kan stil spel thingz in waki waez just tu maek piipl kumplayn, lol!

  • @jayandersons

    96% LOL

If you had a Led like this, would buy it for everything i own.....

  • @jayandersons "efishent" WTF!!!!???

  • @jayandersons LOL efficient*

  • Here's the before picture, and here's th- ah @&#* its bright!

  • Man...I was laughing so hard my face hurt. I had no clue that you could hot-rod a light like that.....Lol.....My face hurts......How cool.

  • ColdHeat... OOOOOH so epic. You should bridge it across your P7 and see what it does, trash it and get a real iron.

  • the sound in this video blows

  • 1000LM 1,000 Lumen LED SQ2WA Light Review and How to power it

    watch?v=DPIihKPNIFM

  • its all about the optics.

  • 3 MILES - NO

  • dammn you can land a 747 jet with that rrr more power as tim allen would say lol

  • dammn you can land a 747 jet with that

  • Ok please reply. What's brightest 5mm led. I have Nichia 44000MCD. But I want something like in your video. But I heard LED technology isn't perfect and 3Watt or higher LEDs need cooling solution. I don't want no cooling thing. I want tiny LED which will produce 900+ lumens, able to run for hours NON STOP with no cooling? do I ask too much? How come we are NOT that advanced yet. i am sure military has those

  • a VOM meter? VOM = Volt - Ohm Meter. Pros wouldn't call it a 'vom meter'. Just 'volt meter' or 'meter' will do....Or where's my Fluke?? Anyone take my Beckman ? {my personal choice}.

  • @guitgeo 'old schoolers' call it a multi-meter.

  • Ever try making a clear cap, (water tight) over the LED and fill it with clear mineral oil? That would solve your heat problems.

  • I got 6 watt (6 die) led from Osram... more bright then this... even whole big2 room.

  • the brightest flashlight is about 4100 lumens. yours doesnt come close :) but still cool. better than what i can do .

  • that would work as a self-defense weapon, even better than those sprays that girls have!!!

  • Btw- why is the title "world's brightest led flashlight'? I highly doubt 600-700 lumens was the brightest LED flashlight in the world,, even in 2008!!! Perhaps an array of 3 or 4 SSC P7's on a mount with serious heat sinking and cooling maybe,,,you could potentially get 2000+ lumens. Again the P7 very outdated and inefficient bulbs by current standards.

  • Dude,, c'mon. The SSC P7 takes a ridiculously

high current thatis why it's considered a very inefficient LED.

Also, it's only putting out around 600-700 lumens not the advertised

900 from what i've read.. There are way more efficient LEDs. I suggest you check out Cree LED's.

Much more efficient. If you need single center

quad emmiter look at the MC-E. It's do 430 Lumens at

    a nice cool 350mA.

  • britist...fuckin tard

  • battery soldering irons suck

  • lol the old bulb looked like moonlight compared to the new bulb.

  • i bet the runtime is 5 minutes

  • get a freaking surefire

  • very sensible LED devices... just a peak of overcurrent and it's dead.

I killed my 1W Luxeon for 200mA over

  • @yahnsolo that s why im useing a power controer

  • @yahnsolo keep in mind that 200mA spike is almost double the driving current of a 1W Luxeon which is about 350mA. While 200mA may seem small, always remember it's only relative to what you're device consumes.

  • @x2x3x2 yup, ya, i'm aware about that... I just were disapointed because this spike current were extremely short, and the diode just reached it's junction point instantanly...

Thought that Luxeon would be less sensible... More reliable, but it was some years ago...

  • u didnt show us how to make it :(

  • why dont u show it outside?

  • Where is the best place to get a good heatsink for a maglite?

  • not the brightest, the light in the school parkinglot uses one led and it bathes the whole area with amazing bright light...

  • Who wants to fool with it?

  • THAT WOULD BE A GRAT LIGHT FOR THE FIRE SERVIC YOU SHE MARKED THE OFF

  • I work with luxeon and seoul LEDs that are surface mounted like yours and I can tell you there just is not the enough amount of heat sync in that flash light. Those LEDs get very hot without the right cooling and while you may have a flash light that is bright for a while but this project will result in either burning out the blue LED base crystal or burn up some of the white phosphors in the LED. As it sets this light at least has a poor duty cycle.

  • @Zenodilodon you are so rite, its my frist bluild. my other lights are better and brighter.

  • @jayandersons I went to flat bed lights with the really high powered LEDs, I mount them on a flat heat sync and then the battery, usually 3.7 li-ion. I built 2 lights for my father for a present as well using a light much like yours. used a lathe turned stack of metal disks with 2 holes drilled through for power. some arctic silver for the thermal paste and it runes very nice off the original 4.5 volts " with a resistor in place ". front current to the diode is around 3.7 -3.9 volts.

  • @Zenodilodon ~ correct me if i'm wrong, but I thought one of the advantages of the LED over the traditional halogen bulb was the fact that it doesn't heat up, hence why they are more power efficient..?

  • @TheHeavensReject LED produce less heat for the amount of light produced. in a typical plastic lamp led the crystal for the diode gate is small, 30~50 times smaller then the high powered LEDs even ones with crystals that small can get warm if your using them at higher voltages, multiply that and you get something that produces some serious heat, Also heat is generated by resistance in the LED and the more amperage is drawn per voltage the more resistance is likely to be present.

  • @Zenodilodon

Exactly! The P7 is a very high current LED which makes it very inefficient by todays standards ie. CREE XP-G for example.

  • Comment removed

  • Someone may have commented this already, haven't read through them all. I don't know who taught you math, but 20x40 = 800, not 900 as you stated.

  • i have seen 100W LEDs that give out up to 8000 LM so that isn't even close to the worlds brightest

  • @itjustnotme show me ill put it a light ha

  • @jayandersons combining shit other people made doesn't get you any "worlds best" awards... any fuckhead could buy 10,000 LEDs, stick them together and call it a flash light

  • @itjustnotme What the hell are you talking about? The brightest LED in existence is the SST-90 at 36 Watts.

  • amazing!!!!~~~~~ wow i cant belive it!

  • why won't you tell us how to make them like through steps. why keep secrets to your self?

  • the beginning sounds like some thing that the wii would use for wii sports

  • "whant"

  • How many volt can the SSC P7 C-Bin LED handle, I want to put this led in a flash light that takes 3 aaa battery that = 4.5V will that work b/c I saw that the SSC P7 C-Bin max input was 3.6V~3.7V. or do I have to use one of those Li-Ion 18650 3.7V battery

  • @superbmx yes it will work but you need a power contoler, heat sink

  • Comment removed

  • yay, now it can fuck up your night vision in under 1 second

  • fairly bright, i will grant you that...

  • I love led's :)

  • as you overstate everything, you must be a democrat.

  • i bet the battery life sucks balls

  • ...and the battery lasts 10 minutes :)

  • LOL "soddering" iron

  • this is far from the world's brightest led flashlight....

  • well, i guess the batteries wouldn't last more than half an hour , and the current limiter circuit from the 40 lumen LED flashlight is inadequate.Of course using a heatsink is also recomended.

  • Cool video.... but I have to ask... the sound effects.... where did you get them? They are the same sounds like the training videos you watch at Home Depot.

  • @stephenknerler pinnacle 9 sound fx

  • IT BURNS!!!

  • Get a Rebel Star LED. Must be heatsinked and will draw 10W or 20W depending on unit and produce between 1200LM and 2400LM.

  • actually it would be 22.5 lumens, 900/40 is 22.5 :)

  • so how much does thae flashlight's battery last with the overhual

  • @fkolby75 got that in a flashlight?

  • @jayandersons hej ,jayandersons

can you recomend a lumen dorcy flashlights for this projekt from the site

    for about 10 USD

    thank you

  • whats the difference with P7 bin D?

  • @BluestoneLighting1 someone likes to spam

  • getting one of those led.

  • This is quite a breakthrough.

  • Lheuwmehnz..

  • can u show us how to make it

  • look for this one

    500 LED Extreme flashlight

    it fucking bright!

  • well, what you guys all dont understand about led lights, there differences between a combine and single diods/led for sample on a diy video projector you dont want combine 10 1watt diod/led to make 10 watt cause the output lum density is still the same still doesnt go beyond the 1watt per led perimitter just brighter but no gain in range ,but if you use a 10 watt single led all that lum is come'n out of 1 led you get longer focus length /longer light range yes the beam it self it gets hot

  • It must get awfully warn in that small tube.

  • bluestone flashlight max 500 lumens

    p7 900 max

  • A 900 lm LED the Brightest? My friend has a 3500lm LED so i think you're wrong

  • Wene this video was made it was the brighest. , you couldnt even get in a flashlight at time. new leds will be even brighter. and as far as i know ther are no 35lm fatory lights yet. mabe a custom made.

  • this is 2 years ago man

  • You can find 3500Lm LED at only one pack as 50W.

  • 1. That's not going to shine 3 miles. It's a freaking floodlight.

    2. It's probably not even 300 lumens, let alone 900. That would create a large amount of heat, even if it IS an LED.

    3. It's hard to believe that you know what you're talking about when you can't even spell the words "want" and "enough"

    4. You didn't show us how to replace it. If we don't know how to remove the original LED, how are we going to put the new one in?

  • Why the fuck is this negative two?

You're absolutely right, and you're not even being an asshole about it even if the guy deserves it.

  • 3 miles.....really.....dude its a flooder, even the best trowing led dose at most about 400 or 500 yards...and that is not going to be close to that.

  • Looking forward to you doing a build with the SST-90 LED putting out over 2k lumens! :)

  • How many watts?

  • about 13 watts

  • Surefire's Flashlights Suck. They cost way to much money + CR123 battery or whatever it is sucks

  • @Randomthingz1 I like their flashlights. But their batteries, as you say, suck.

  • @Randomthingz1 I'm happy with my surefire flashlights. they seem to work no matter what. I do think they cost a bit much. but one of them was a gift hahaha

  • Quad-Core LEDs. ffs.

  • Surefires's Beast II puts out 2300 Lumens but this is more than enough and doesnt cost 4500 dollars.

  • The Surefires's Beast II is way to expensive 4000-7000 $

  • No doubt. Thats too expensive for a flashlight. If it was a couple hundred, Id like to have it. Anybody who says 900 is not enough is crazy though haha.

  • i bet that has a run time of about 20 minutes before you have to change the battery haha

  • run time is 50 min at max 90 min at mid and 180 min at low usesing a 18650 lithium .

  • need to get me one of these, I'm living like a caveman by using a P4 cree

  • how bout a tutorial on how to build this?

  • what batteries would you need to power this light and still have a half decent battery life?

  • 18650 lithum same as in a lab top

  • get Sanyo eneloop !!!

  • Where can I get the materials to build one?

  • any electronic store, you can buy the 10w led and then buy any flashlight and u're done.

  • this is over 13 watts and much brighter

i bought a light would be a poor vid

  • ssc-p7 is 12watt. with 10watt is more then enough for a flashlight

  • Mass power outtage at the football stadium? Now you can save the day!

  • where can i buy the p7 led buld im working on a project ,and this led might work out for me, any help? please

  • Without cooling the P7 will overheat i think... And use other resistors for the other LED ;) nice vid 4*

  • Ok... do you think this LED works with a self made beamer (i mean video projector) ??

  • @krmusick 1. It's the led lenser x21 ( i think that's the one you mean)

    2. The x21 has 7 Led, so in this video is the brightest Led Flshlight with 1 Led

  • I'm sure it burns off more battery than it actually uses. Many high output flashlights do this because they either don't have thermistors or the thermistor can't regulate the tempreture because it's far beyond the threshold. You only get the benefit of the candlepower if there's close surfases to bounce the light off of, which means you would be indoors. So a 50 Lumen light with a wide reflector would give you the same coverage.

  • What realistically are you doing to low the temperature?

What efficenciy is your driver board? I assume this is the SSC P7 that is rated at 900lumens, but after all the work, the heat, and the loss in the reflector/lens, it's going to be much lower... unless you have seriously tried hard to get around all this, I am pretty sure people on Candle Power Forums have built more efficient units...

Though I am open to be proved wrong (maybe you are a user there?)

  • Where is the step how to make the dorcy flashlight with new led. Using the dorcy flashlight housing?

  • where do you get the led
