  • oh hell's yes. wish itd kick into the next song (Just Got Back)

  • I had this on videotape in 1984. PBS showed this as an episode of Soundstage. CT fan since 1979

  • chicago in the 80s was a great city. what the fuck happened to us

  • WAS THERE!

  • Asian Beauties ****lushfmlk.info****

  • yep these bozos nowadays can take their VIP packages and shove it up their asses.

Gonna destroy what`s left of Rock.

  • Zander has got his shit TOGETHER on this one. The rest of the guys ALWAYS do!!!

  • this was originally produced by george martin, (the album was great)

  • wow, back when you could get front row for a concert by getting to the venue early and waiting... not paying $500+ for "VIP" packages. this show needs to be on DVD!!!

  • @alphakub I got front row seats in front of Rick in 05 with my family (my kids first concert) at our fair for 15.00. But yeah, I paid 75 to see RUSH (money well spent.)

  • 2:05 shows how tight these guys are

  • Totally tubular to the max!

    xoxo

    The Clarences

  • next friday backstage cant wait----i havent seen them since 1984 and i meet them then as well springfield fuck yes---love them always

  • A really good song, a great album, an amazing band, but a bad quality for this video, it looks like to be shot by a drunk cameraman !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fuck great saw them on this album

  • Man what an awesome show!! I was at Chicagofest for this performance! When it was broadcast on Soundstage, I was able to record it to a videotape and I watched it constantly until the tape finally degraded and broke, after about 4 years. Does anyone know if this available on dvd anywhere? I'd love to have this concert in it's complete form again!

  • Does anybody know if this was broadcast on Public TV in '81?

  • @jreadem01 Yes. It was an episode of "Soundstage" on PBS and they were still repeating it in 1984 when I got it on videotape!

  • They were definitely on top of their "Game" on this one. One of many killer songs from one of the best Illinois bands ever. Great clip, I wasn`t at this show but was at some like it and by the grace of God I never got trampled to death but can remember a lot of the mad scrambles for the best seats. And then you didn`t dare leave to get a drink as you wouldn`t have that spot when you returned.

  • OMG, goosebumps seeing the first part of this video. I was there that day 29 years ago. Awesome, totally awesome!

  • One of... if not the BEST Cheap Trick song... awesome!

  • This song seriously rocks, and still sounds so fresh that it is unbelievable & frankly scary that it's being performed (OMG!) about 30 years ago.

  • Zander's voice was amazing

  • Better quality video and audio than earlier post... this is awsome!

  • i saw this show at cobo arena in 81 with ufo rick played his 5 neck hamer guitar at the show.

  • Excellent track from 'All Shook Up'.

"All Shook Up" was produced by none other than George Martin

  • I think I saw them w/ UFO this same year in Cleveland.

  • NO WAY!!! Cheap Trick and UFO on the SAME BILL? Oh you lucky F**K!!!!!!!!

  • @chuckcarrender Cheap Trick and UFO... those were the days!!

  • I wonder why Pete C left the band or was he booted? He fits this band like a glove though.....what a shame

  • The band claims Jon Brant came to rehearsal and while Pete was making some food in Rick's kitchen, Jon jammed with them and he was in (insinuating Pete was fired). Pete says he brought Jon to the band so he could quit to focus on guitar (his main instrument). I think the truth is maybe a mix of both. I know they wanted him out, and he thought he could do well on his own. Bad move for Pete, good for CT, I guess, I liked Pete in the band, he was really, really good. I wish he'd have stayed.

  • thank u for this

  • Saw them perform this in Orlando at the Tangerine bowl this same year, they opened for Heart. One of the best bands of the 80's and beyond!

  • JESUS THAT WAS HEAVY!

  • Robin sound's so strong in this video...what a great tune!...Cheap Trick...what a great band!

  • @ViolentWedgy Cant agree more!

  • Pure Rock and Roll....>Cheap Trick. Such a great band with amazing songs !

  • Saw this on TV when it happened and recorded it on a BETA tape. One of the most awesome shows! Pete is great on this too, by the way. Wonder why he didn't stay in the band?

  • Wow. What a great band.

And they still are to this day.

  • This is the perfect opening song for them.

  • Saw this concert when it aired on PBS in spring '82 (I think). Immediately became a Cheap Trick fan. Great show.

  • wow !!

  • simply amazing

  • Blistering performance. Love the intro footage, showing fans and the band coming on stage! Heard this song was originally called, 'Can't Stop The Music' but they changed it because another song by that title was out, at the time.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!
