Wir haben als wir noch kinder waren in wietzenbruch über den zaun von der immelmann kaserene geschaut und konnten unsere Münder nicht mehr zubekommen ...bekomme immer noch gänsehaut ...staune heute immer noch
Great to see this I still have the same on VHS tape taken at Cranfield watching the Freestyle think I also have the Enstrom doing the emergency landing will have to convert to the PC and post my footage
Ah,good old Charly Zimmermann, the hero of my teenage days;-) Those were the days when the german armed forces had enough money to do cool things like this. Today you will never see something like that again...........too sad!
He is the top pilot for that helicopter! Seen him live several times in the late 80´s, no Eurocopter or Apache can do this without this pilot...Karl (Charly) Zimmermann...wow
DobermansRock - why Rest In Peace? Are you confusing Karl with Siggy, who crashed when filming in America? Karl was certainly alive last year when my brother met him at the Cross-Channel Tunnel Entry near Folkestone.
@DiogoS90 : and the flight-model of the Bo105 in FlightGear is based on exact flight measurements datas by NASA and already tested by two real heli-pilots. At least one is a Bo105-pilot. So the one in FlightGear is behaving 99% like the real one!
@Saniboy10832 Nein, der Clip wurde 1986 mit photoshop gemacht unter DOS. Spass beiseite.
Among the rest, the BO 105 has been also developed as an aerobatics helicopter and also has a licensing as such.

@neavissa2004 Almost every naval helicopter can apply negative pitch - in order to push the helicopter onto the deck of the vessel ...

i like the sounds of the blades very cool :)

The BO 105 can apply a little bit negative pitch but not enough to hover inverted.
I wonder when the first non-RC heli is capable of this :)
RC helis are set up to have same positive as negative pitch.
M0rdH0rst 7 months ago
Does anybody know, can the BO-105 apply negative pitch to the same extent as positive (or at all)?
chrissn07 8 months ago
@chrissn07 Negative pitch is as far as i know not possible at all in any helicopters

@HHS81 Zimmerman balled one up and killed himself. I may have something crossed up though.

Believe me- he is still alive. You mistaken him with Siggy Hoffman, former testpilot at MBB, who indeed crashed when flilming.
