  • Hello! I can play fast. :(

  • at 2:16 andreas looks over at jon as if to say "ya thats right". Awsome video!

  • Great sax solo!

  • grand!!

  • great musicians

  • cool

  • Si parece el mismísimo Django...

  • Andreas Oberg is Magical

  • It's Sig Hansen from Deadliest Catch!!!

  • fenomeni

  • who are these guys..

  • hate theseguys FUCK THEMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!

    Amazing:)

  • FANTASTIC!! I like a lot Django and I envy you playing guitar!!

  • Long soul boys.

  • J'adore les cordes grattes grattes.

  • Orgasmico!

  • i love django's music. its just good

  • One wonders if this clip could be honestly and clearly titled ...."Nordic Allstars, playing their interpretation of jazz music in the style of Django Reinhardt" . Pedantic perhaps, but then jazz is much about the beat, as well as the rhythm. It`s played nicely, good musicians, sure, but..... Ah well, life goes on.

Thanks for the music and the posting.

  • Gar nicht schlecht für einen Gadscho ;)

    Latsches ! ;)

  • porca puttana, mi siete piaciuti

  • Great Solo's Dude

  • Poor Bass, we can never hear you on camera or live recordings... -_-

  • @noxvet ...You will hear bass player very well if you search minor swing + Am ketenes.

  • Yeah sax is mad

  • it's too fast! It reminds me on that cartoon movies.

Why can't people just do it as it should sound?

  • If you want to listen it as it "should" sound, then you can listen the original version. They made their own version and nobody can't say that it is wrong. If cover is exactly the same as the original, then is cover pointless. Point is to make something new and interesting.

  • I think a cover can also be a way to get into the composers thought process when done exactly the same way, a learning tool. Cover is not pointless

  • Ok, it's not pointless, but still, nobody can't say that it's wrong to play this song faster than the original version.

  • Correct, it's like creative license or whatever

  • @toomperep

Thanks, you 're so smart. I didn't know that I can listen to original. I 've already heard original before you were born but I want to hear someone who does something else

to this piece without ruin it. I mean someone who will preserve tradition and add something new, not the only speeding up ...'cause obviously that's the only thing they did, no inovations whatsoever. I hope I made it more clear this time! :-)

  • because a song should sound like the interpret wants it to sound. and that's their version of this epic standard

  • If you can't handle artists playing music different than the composer wrote it then maybe Jazz music isn't for you.

  • No you don't understand my dear fella...I am musician since 70's with academic master degree. And not quite beginner in jazz music either...But music is not the matter of putting as much tones as possible in short time. Some songs are made to play faster some slower. You have to respect metrics and natural breathing of the rhythm. Listen to Manouche or Sinti when they play this style of music and you 'll learn to do it right.

  • Douche

  • In music, "right" has to do with taste. What you find "right" can be found "wrong" by someone else. And i say that with no academic master degree.

  • that's why you are "wrong" ;-)

  • You're the best!!!

  • oh man this is wild

  • Cool cats -- thanks for the upload.

For other excellent jazz, feel free to visit my blog (link in profile). Hope to see you there.

    Have fun & Cheers,

    Bruno "Brewlite" Leicht

  • i think the technique was great. alot of variations. try listening to it without trying to fit him in django's shoes. prehaps

  • Meh... these guys are too concerned with playing fast. They lack the feeling of many of the Manouche-Romani musicians who I've heard play this kind of music. And, WTF is up with that saxophone? It was completely out of place.

  • saxophone does NOT belong in minor swing - but other than that this is great.

  • I think the playing here is unbelievable.

  • same here, it is awesome!! like the autro more than the intro ;>

"minor swing, minor swing please! merci merci :D "

  • Completely disagree with that guy. oberg and the guy to his left rocked it.

  • jealous much.

  • its hard to say when your not the person playing...for all we know, he might have more feeling towards that song than all of them..that "feeling" issue is a slippery slope

  • C'est une vraie vidéo de django?

  • c'est une reprise par le groupe nordic allstars

  • I'm impressed!

    Wow!!

  • andreas at his best here!

  • I have always to move when I here this song.. love it:]

  • Wow! What an awesome tribute!

  • Me 2!!!

  • motherf*****. i'm giving up guitar.

  • Yeah-I'm joining this club too!

  • They wouldn't be that good if they had given up. =/ But they do make it sound impossible. =P

  • ...one more member for your club :(

  • Inspirering! The rhythm Guitars do pace it to fast though. I'm not comparing to Django. It's just my opinion. Very enjoyable! Thankyou for posting this. I grew up listening to Django because my father was a fan and played rhythm guitar himself. Evertime I hear this wonderful gypsy jazz tears come to my eyes and I can hear my dad playing that rhythm with full abandonment. Sometimes he would play so long and hard his fingers would bleed but he would keep on playing for the love of the music.

  • very good

  • trop fort,jadére......

  • are they on cocaine?

  • ahahahahahahaha :D most probably..

    nice sound tho..

  • parle nomine tarle postrarew? comonestere tratetaloclo, manose prufredeu tra losji.

  • ne varsa eskilerde var!!!

  • I was as bored listening to this as the fiddle player looked during the performance.

  • Way too fast than Django's version. Precision is there, but the soul is not. Technically perfect but has no color.

  • Excellent! I need more bass though.

  • heavy on the technicality but not as hot in the soul dept.!

  • They are very cleaver, but it doesn't the original minor swing. :(

  • the man with long hairs is Andréas Oberg....

  • it's a way to fast - so it lost a littel of the swing - but it's really awesome!

  • lol yeah - everyone hate me XD - i LOVE IT - but I think it is to fast!

  • double agree

  • I agree

  • hahaha the guy with the long hir plas a bebop solo thats great

  • Django would have enjoyed this!!!

  • a little fast..

  • incredible...this would bring down the club!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOW..........amazing, truly amazing!

    Chapeau!!!!

  • amazing stuff.. straight to favs

  • makes one envious

  • Great sound. Ok, amusing. 5 stars! ;)

  • spettacolari!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very nice playing, lots of cool swing!

    Way to go!

  • wow impressive

    :-)

..you wonna see/hear something realy innovative - how to improvise classical music ?!

look for video : "bach sarabande jazz guitar"

or go to renatorozic dot com /audio/bach or audio/mozat..

..you ll be nicely surprised ..

    :-)

  • This is terrific. Does anyone know anything about these guys? I've been unsuccessul in my searches. Who are the players?

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the few negative posts. Those kind of comments say much more about the poster than they do the video.

    PhilipTalk

  • The guitarplayers from left to right is: Gustav Lundgren, Andreas Öberg, Jens Fuglsang and Jon Larsen

  • Thanks, gadjoswing, for the reply. Now I can sleep.

    PhilipTalk

  • You guys, especially you Andreas, are exceptional musicians.

  • Django, si que ha hecho historia, d esa que solo con el paso de los años apreciamos. Gracias, por tanta felicidad!!!

  • Amazing !!

  • Increible!!! realmente se disfruta cada segundo.

  • Wonderful! I enjoyed it very much. I disagree with the rude posters. I think it would make Django smile if he could see how many talented musicians have taken a work of his, and reshaped it into their own vision of "Minor Swing". To me, this is the ultimate "playtime" song. Pure fun. How boring the song would become if everybody played it just like Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Thanks!

  • not even close!!!!!

  • Andreas is an incredible player.

  • great musicians, great music A+

  • Perfect!

  • while they are all very talented (I love Öberg's gypsy stuff) this is just way too fast.

  • Every version of Minor Swing is beautiful on its own way... But i must admit that i've never seen such virtuosity after Django himself....

  • Gypsy Jazz

  • HOOOOAAHHH!!!!! GREAT!!!!!

  • the guitar is a Selmer Maccaferri

  • Brilliant!

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeaa! petacularrr

  • Amazing performance. Bravo!

  • WOW! That's fast.
