You only knew of one, but there were many. There had to be a lot more going on to merit a police officer in the school. Maybe you just weren't tuned in to what was happening.
The story was in my senior yearbook. He and only he was the reason. The school board didn't want the problem to get as bad as it had in many other places around the country.

There was only one pot smoker at my high school. He was the reason why a police officer was assigned to hang out at our school.

Does a police officer bother you? If you're clean then you shouldn't mind.
And if it concerns you that much, legalize it.
