That's like giving money to bank robbers. US auto workers gets paid 70 plus dollars an hour plus benefit mounting to 100k a year salary. You can only guess how much the management gets paid. How much ar they putting into their cars? And they make cars they few likes if anyone likes it at all. Designs are poor, quality is poor. Big strong engine and that's about it. That 7 Billion will be gone soon.
True that Hyundai Labor Union sucks, but Hyundai's still kicking butt. So why should anyone care? I'd worry more about how Big 3 US auto managements waste ton of money producing cars with quality that public don't want. ISn't that more serious problem?
Hey Americans U must thanks to be an Americans! We Koreans never got that kinda assurance program forever! No freakin' way of 10year 100000miles of warranty. That goody only for Americans! Appriciate to being an American.
@machostudio thank you i agree with you us americans take it for granted well i dont i have a hyundai and all these other people talk shit about hyundai but no other american car company or bmw lexus they dont even have people backs like hyundai does im happy hyundai came to america. they can finally show what a real car company is
And those who argue about the huge loss of jobs by losing our auto industry, if there are no longer US automakers, the European and Asian automakers will begin building factories here to fill the gap. And when that happens, American can finally be proud of building quality cars (even though it will have a foreign badge on it)Yes profits will go overseas, but it also makes money for us, and will keep our economy working.
Dont want to break your illusions but there is no reason for having car industry workers in the US save because there is a US Car industry. If the US car industry collapses, there will be absolutely no longer a reason to have a car plant in the US. Japan and Europe only places plants in the US to bypass some protection measures and get their own productions labelled as made in US (and then not counted as import)
There is no economical reason for having car workers in the US, Europe or Japan.
I agree with you 100% My dad bought a Ford Fusion last year, the transmission went out. He took it in for repair under warranty, they argued with him that the transmission failure was his fault. It took alot of bullshit to finally get the transmission repaired under warranty. 4 months later transmission failed again. The big 3 care about creating profit while the other auto makers care about building a product people want to buy. This is why the big 3 will eventually die and good riddance.
GM and Chrysler submit their restructuring plans today. GM is expected to get $4 Billion and Chrysler $3 Billion today alone. Let's see what happens.
