The reason for the decreased top speed is that they lowered the production quality of drive shafts. I drive a 2005 crown vic police interceptor that looks just like this stolen one in the vid, so I know. shush, it's a secret. don't tell other people. if the public knows about this, there'd be a lot more chases than the cops can handle.

I have a 2003 Mercury Marauder which was electronically limited to 125, but after I put a Hypertech tuner on it, I can bury the needle, potentially pushing it past 150 even though it only reads up to 140.
