i was joking, but the distinguishable difference is that a "video" usually doesn't have a story, whilst a "film" does. BUT, it could also refer to the format on which you shoot, which in that case you would be correct.

yes you are right, but the word "film" does not indicate a storyline and also can refer to the format. A lot of short films do not have a real storyline. However I do agree there is a difference between a video and a film, but I'm not sure either can always be distinguished well. I think that more work is put into films, as apposed to videos, but there's a fine line and a few acceptions.
