Not only is this amazingly composed, but it's plausible to think that the instrumentation is just about as good as it could have been, especially when you consider that not only is it comprised of saw, triangle, noise and variable pulse waves, but also that it was created in raw machine code, without the use of a DAW, tracker, or any other application. @david02129: Machinae Supremacy includes a lot of C64 throwbacks in their tunes. Sort of a metal-meets-C64 group (they use a Sidstation which has the same sound chip as a C64). They're pretty good.

The Monty Mole stuff shows up in the track "Sidology Episode 3" around the 3 minute mark. Last I checked their site had a lot of their stuff for free download.

Mate, by mid-80s standards, this was a bloody good game. You could type "I WANT TO CHEAT" into the high score table and get unlimited lives, but still be screwed half an hour later cos you were missing one of the 5 pieces of the escape kit you had to choose at the start.

Clever.

As Jet Set Willy style platform games go, this was the best ever (because the best ones were all pretty much much of a muchness, but no other game had this tune, probably)

It's a platformer with strange enemies and traps. Just get to a boat, that's all I know. I haven't played the game, but I've seen longplays of it on youtube, only about sixteen minutes long. Very simple, but great stage design, imo.
