  • Arrgh, I want one of those machines...my Buick is just too big for most of what I drive for!

  • @pheenix42 You'll miss refueling up the Buick at your local filling station :(

  • nice bike man i got a red 81 and 82 passport

  • Cool. You got two of them. Nice bikes for sure. The 81 and 82 were 6 volts with points. My 84 is 12 volt and CDI ign. Fun to ride. Ride safe!

  • the 82 actually also is 12 volt, but i dont believe it has the cdi ignition system

  • That's strange. A few years ago I bought a 1972 C70 Ki, a 1981 and 82 Passport and all were 6 volt systems and with points. Here in Canada all the C70 Passports with the 12 volt systems started in 1983-84. 1984 was the last year the C70 passport was sold in Canada. All our 12 volt systems also had a CDI ign.

  • Your right and I'm wrong. Now that I think of it the two Passports I had was one 1980 and 81 and they were 6 volt. 12 volt systems with CDI started in 1982 and went to 1984. I like the 12 volt CDI units. Reliable bikes.

  • @7863348 Nah you're both wrong. I have an 82' passport and it has 12v electrics and capacitor discharge ignition. Mine is the US model but I think the Canadian ones were the same. They had point/6v until 1982 when they switched over to CDI 12v

  • yes my 82 is the Canadian version and Im positive it has a 12 volt system, I have the manual that came with the bike too. Ive never heard of an 6 volt 82.

  • nice job! hopefully mine will be that nice one day. where did you get those carrier hooks? please tell me, thanks!

  • I'm having a problem with my tail light. The headlight works fine (Hi/Lo) but the tail light does not light up. Could this be the starter relay? Where could the fault lie?

  • Not the starter relay for sure.Check tail light socket, ground wiring to the rear light or trace the two wires from the light to the harness.

  • The funny thing was, it took a minute to come on after the engine was running, and then continued to stay on after I shut the engine off! I have no idea why it would do that unless it is hooked up into a capacitor. I know the relay has a coil in it. I would want to make sure before I spend the $70 to get a new one :(

  • im looking at getting one of these in about 3 days, its doing the exact same thing. must be a common problem. i love these bikes tho

  • Okay, will do. Thanks again for the help. This is the only thing holding me back from getting it inspected and licensed!

I still can't figure out how the tail light can remain on after the engine is shut off...

  • Great looking bike!

  • love the beepers , beautiful bike indeed.

  • Very nice where can i buy the beeping signal ?

  • The little beeper I purchased at an automotive parts store. You can wire it right into the two post flasher with one wire going to each flasher post. Then you won't leave your signal lights on all the time! Glad you liked it.

  • Mine ('67 CM90)has hooks there too.

They were old coathooks from a local Sunday school being renovated!

    Nice C70 by the way.

  • That's cool to use old coat hooks. Love those old bikes. I restored a 1966 C100 last summer. She's one of my favorite bikes. There hard to find here in Newfoundland, Canada.

  • Wow, excellent work! That truly looks showroom new. I'm in the process of restoring my 1981 C70. Still a few parts to work on, then finally the new paint!

  • wow that bike is cool. looks like it came straight from the factory. my chassis is all beat up and welded in a couple of places. great job!
