  • @MarvinMoshaka thanks dude. you play good btw

  • What is your main style of music?

  • @skate4free7 progressive death metal, but this video is a pretty sketchy example of anything I do haha

    thanks for watching

  • @MarvinMoshaka Oh Nice nice man good vid too, How much did you pay for your head? Have you had any problems with it yet?

  • @skate4free7 Thanks man. I'm actually selling it right now for $700 + shipping. I've had no problems with it at all, I absolutely love it BUT I'm going for a totally different setup right now.

  • @MarvinMoshaka Np! Oh no way? damn, are you aiming for rack units or what? Sorry if I ask so many questions man i just recently bought this same head and i've had problems with it already =/

  • @skate4free7 Dude, you totally guessed it! Yeah, I'm going all rack so I can quietly record with just my preamp and have everything controlled by MIDI with a TC Electronics G-System. All super pricey but it'll be worth it!

I don't mind the questions bro, I'm always down to talk about gear! What kinda problems man?

  • @MarvinMoshaka hahaha i figured man, Racks are super pricey but they are worth it. it had just popping noise and volume increase/decrease, and im not sure if its normal or not but it would sorta take a little longer than usual for the tubes to warm up. How would I know if it would be tube problems?

  • @skate4free7 Oh man, I always hear about those problems but I never know if they're a tube problem, effects loop problem, or whatever. Totally not normal dude! Try and get a tech to check it out or ask around the internet!

  • what mods do you have to make your clean sound like that? you just running two channels? thinking about getting a 5105II bet i need a good clean and you have attained one, so very interested

  • @flamey088 no mods at all :)

just rolled back the volume a little on the neck pickup and picked a little lighter. the 5150 was made to Eddie's specs and he always rolled his volume back on cleans so anyone complaining about the cleans need to ease up to tame this beast hah

the clean sounds even better in person, alot fuller with good room acoustics and such.

and yes, you are just hearing the rhythm channel then I switch over to the lead channel with my OD as a boost engaged

  • @MarvinMoshaka thats awesome, so you can get a nice clean out of them afterall. Just looking at these heads, looking at ugrading from a 75watt to something with a bit more headroom (i think 120 is more than enough). Just missed one for sale over here, so iam just gonna have to wait a little till another pops up. You still play this head, or have you got another one now?

  • @flamey088 Definitely! For lower volume bedroom jamming, I suggest cranking the rhythm channel with a boost up front for a good sound since the lead channel needs to hit about 3 to sound good and I never go past 4 with a full band in a garage hah.

good stuff! and yes, I still play this head. I'll never let it go :)

it's my first halfstack and first tube head and I've wanted it for the past 3 or 4 years and finally got it after working my butt off and hunting down a deal! hah more vids soon!

  • I had a 5150 II with an oversized cab... then switched it out for an original 5150.. then switched the oversized cab for a traditional cab... I really wanna try the 5150 II with my current traditional cab now :) lol frigg...

  • @snapascrew and I really wanna try an original out! hah

sorry for the sloptastic playing man, I always love watching your vids and I should definitely do a better vid later where I'm actually warmed up and feel like playing.

next vid, I'll do the crunch channel! it's also pretty beast if you crank the gain :)

  • @MarvinMoshaka ya man agreed.. only thing is im confused why you're getting that good tone with the bass and res so low!

  • @snapascrew I find that too much bass or too much resonance gets kinda "mushy" at higher volumes :) I also gotta give huge props to my sCream Cheese 1.0 overdrive as a clean boost for more attack and cut with the tone control up Try out my lead settings and tell me how you like 'em on the original! Don't think they're the same as in this video but right now they're: Pre: 3.5 Low: 6 Mid: 7 High: 6 Res: 2 Pres: 0 I usually jam out with ear plugs to get the post at about 3 at least :)
  • @MarvinMoshaka i don;t think id like those settings at all :P lol maybe if i was micing it or something maybe but i can guarantee i wont like that sound lol

  • It sounds like, studio clean. :o

  • hahaha, i was the one that posted comments under killing the son, and i just got my super kick 2 today haha. but man, that amp is so under rated

  • @SirDougelton congrats dude! keep it loose and kick hard and consistent and you've got a beast of a bass drum :)

  • @MarvinMoshaka hahah if i ever get a chance il post a video lol, i put a hole through one of my tom heads too so i had to buy a new one lol

  • that amp is like, godly. such awesome sound =]

  • @SirDougelton Just got her last Monday, I'm still totally in the honeymoon stage hah

    Thanks for the comment!
