does anyone remember (i think the tv guide on screen) maybe about 10 or so years ago, when the channels were listed full screen? during the day it would have a cloudy sky background and at night it would have a starry nighttime background. Im trying to find the melody that would play because for some reason I've never forgotten it till this day.
How many do you get? This is from 17 years ago, there are many many more channels provided by cable providers now. I have several hundred channels now.
Good lord almighty, those were the days! Now, as if everything else falling into shit wasn't bad enough, I can't even just look at the scroll to see what shitty, credit-cramming show is on. Now I can't watch the two and a half bars without retardo reality crap and celeb garbage only no-life losers care about. And that's if there's not a stupid award show going on!
Man. It's sad that THIS is better than most TV nowadays.
I miss the Prevue Channel. The new TV Guide Channel sucks. They only show two full rows and about 20% of the next (third) row. Then, they have their stupid shows like "Surreal Life, Trapped in TV Guide, Celebrity Look-a-Like" and other crap. I HATE it when they shrink the listings down to a ticker at the bottom and show the "Red Carpet" crap. No one cares what the celebrities are wearing. Every awards show is a bunch of actors and actresses getting together and congratulating themselves.
Its called "Opening Act", off of the James & Aster production music library (now defunct). Check my videos, I uploaded a full, CD-quality version of it!
this was however a weird experience, i couldnt take my eyes off the prevuechannel , i felt i was a part of somthing ,thanks for posting the memories of the prevue channel love to get a copy of this

attn aliens prevue channel + chronic =destruction ps im livin proof , i lived through this ''weedtime '' adventure , i had a panic attack after i smoked a joint and watched prevue channel ,has anyone had a similar experience ?
I have a Warner Cable lineup from 1986!!!! I will be posting it pretty soon!!! BTW, I did not know Paragon Cable existed outside San Antonio, Texas. LOL I remember Rogers Cable.
My mother's boyfriend (at that time) had Paragon Cable in Treasure Island, Fl. - I remember looking for shows like Get Smart and The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Oh, the memories this brings back... I'm in heaven.
I love this it really rocks, took me on a nice flash-back,This is really great. But I got a question... who what when and why would this be recorded? i'm not complaining in any way, i just really want to know what would posses someone in 1993 to record the prevue channel. Once again not complaining. i just gotta know why?
I miss these days. All you had to do is turn to the Prevue Channel (Channel 3 in my town), and see what's on). Instead of switching to a program, you'd just stay there for hours. I miss this. I love how they had Christmas segments on. It's a great time to watch!
Hi, I loved Prevue myself when I was little. Classic synths set to 90s drum beats with local ads and nice graphics. Does anyone remember the Electric Pages?
The first ad music in this clip is called "Opening Act", off of the James & Aster production music library (now defunct). Check my videos, I uploaded a full, CD-quality version of it!
Seeing the logo at that point that was animated with 8-bit graphics was great to see again! My cable company would also try to do promos using that clunky system as well, and often the logos had to be re-created, probably from a computer mouse or whatever they had. Kinda miss the old fade in/out bits they had in the late 1980's.
Yeah, I agree. Most cable TV stations suck these these days (incuding the programs and yes, even today's era of the TV Guide Channel, as well as their magazine). I think it's been like this since Hurricane "Katrina".
Heh, whenever I was bored, this channel was the place to be! I only wish it was like this again. My cable company took it off in the late '90s in favor of some local version they put together themselves that hardly showed any promos at all, and all ad-laden.
the preview for universal soldier on showtime

Three straight episodes of Beavis and Butthead on MTV - oh man!
I'm 25 and have lived in the Portland, OR area all of my life. We had cable for most of my childhood, so seeing this really takes me back.

This Prevue Channel is from December 17, 1993. "Animaniacs" began on September 13, 1993. "Animaniacs" was three months old when this was recorded.

I find the system in place at TimeWarner Cable in
Florence, South Carolina (where I live) The 'TV Guide
Channel' next to impossible to read, too slow-moving
and overloaded with annoying audio/video bites. RANT!

The Prevue Channel was awesome! I absolutely loved the music they played with the Prevue Channel logos, which are shamefully impossible to find.

Finally, I found the Prevue Channel logo in better quality at the end, compared to the one I uploaded.
Watching this clip makes me feel like a kid again, thanks for uploading these rare Prevue Channel clips!
