wow, only took one season to find a host with personality and warmth, couldn't figure out why it was taking so long to realize that the old format was too formulaic for even a 4-year-old to find interesting ... much better, "catwalk," thank you.
ps- thanks also for finally finding quality designers that can finish innovating garments on time and with polish. MUCH. BETTER.
i think tom should have gone home for those shorts which were the absolute worst thing up there. i liked the dress made by the woman in the center of the bottom three. i thought it was cute. why was she there?
also, project runway seems to be more about supporting, encouraging and assisting the designers n0ot just pulling them down for the sake of it.
I kind of think that even though i totally think kelly o seems like a cool person, she's way too young to be taken seriously as a fashion expert. A love for clothes is not enough, we need a host with years of experience.
I Here in Britain we've made another let's-have-a-really-rude-judge-extravaganza and being rude to people is more important to the content than the garments.
Also, as i've said before ben de whatever should not be judge and mentor, he's a terrible mentor, has favourites and brings his disputes (if they don't agree with him) into his judging.
And that grazia woman seems to think her magazine knows more than elle or vogue.
I really don't understand why they don't show the back of the garments when the models are walking on the catwalk. It really takes away from getting a complete understanding of the garment. They showed SOME but not all.
so many good and new changes from the last two shows. new place, new judges (got ride of juilian thank goodness) better elimination process, new home, work space. it so much bettter now and miss ozzy has lost soo much wait since the first episode. shes looking great
I'm not sure how fair it is for the designers to have to make a garment that expresses their style out of someone else's clothes. Fabric choice is a huge part of expressing one's personal style. Ben De Lisi as a judge? Not objective enough.
Definitely, much improved PC3.... more like a competition of creativity rather than drama. PC3 seems to have some real talents in there. I like Kelly lots. Though she's not as glamorous as Eliz, but she felt real & warm, as opposed the nasty Ben and Julian. Ben sucks as mentor. Mentor should know how to control emotions and speak like a sage. Tim Gunn is the best.
Baby, Project Catwalk is BRUTAL! It should be called Project Catfight. The show's concept is harsher than the American original. That Ben is no Tim Gunn. And am I alone in finding the British design taste absolutely horrific?
I could not even watch last season, becouse it was like Big Brother and the judges were so cruel. I glad that that weird oompa-loompa is not a judge anymore.
This season is much better, althought I wish that the designers would take bigger risk.
Kelly is sweet hostess, but the mentor is useless and mean and why is he judge.
I actually wish Ben was kept as a judge and a new mentor was brought in. I think he's very good and valid (ahem, at least so far) with his judging critique, but seems mean and ill-spirited in the sewing room.
This is a HUGE improvement over the last 2 seasons-Now I feel it's a designer competition whereas before, I felt the designers were treated more like contestants in a fashion Game Show.
The designers are a MUCH higher quality-and I so love the recaps with the model:they call out the designer and then show the model walking down the runway in their creation-I LOVE that-because at the beginning it's hard to remember who made what because there are so many designers.
i like that they go straight to the bottom 3 and do the elimination. i agree w/ their elimination choice, but honestly i didn't think fionnela's outfit was that terrible. but it was a nice start overall.
I am glad that they seem to have fixed some of the major problems from previous series. The ridiculous voice overs are much less obnoxious here and there is not so much drama. I also like that they got rid of that judge, Julian. I hope it continues to improve.
They really did fix a lot eh! On the previous seasons, whenever they were asked to "defend their work" it was worthless because they had already made their decision... not it seems to count. The fact that the welsh orange gremlin is gone helps as well. PC2, almost killed it for me, but after this episode, I'm definately going to watch the rest,
I am so glad that that bitchy little gnome, Julian MacDonald isn't on this season. Who needs his spite and bile? I'm also glad that the judges don't demand from the designers who they think should be eliminated. That was awful from last season.
That editor for Gratzia magazine, tho, looks like Gloria Vanderbuilt.
I miss His Divine Welshnes :( de lisi was a big weak link in season1/2 and that was by comparison to the GunnSTER. Now even in comparison with HIMSELF he comes across as tyrannical and shrill. Bad judge, bring back SLEDGEHAMMER MCDONALD rather than needling de lisi :P
I am so glad that they got rid of Julien MacDonald. Occasionally he did have really good things to say, but I always hated the way that he attacked the designers themselves (ie. attacking where Kirsty was from in S1, and Monica's weight in S2). Maybe the producers finally realized that behaviour like that was just petty and unforgivable.
And thank goodness the designers are actually defending their work in front of the judges instead of attacking each other.
We also get to see who the judges are talking about! That was such a stupid game in series one and two, to keep us guessing for no reason. I would like to know what they think about this one and that one, and why. It's not just a game show.
ITA about Julian. That man was all wrong. None of the judges on other versions feel the need to rip the contestants up the way he did. And what did he look like?
The new judge (whoever his name is) is not vocal enough, this season feels different with the absence of Julien Macdonald. Aww, the cute one got the first boot. :/
It's nice to see Kelly becoming more comfortable with her role. I found her very likeable on PC 1, when she was the client, but she is not famous for her involvement in fashion, like Heidi Klum, Iman, or Elizabeth Hurley. I also love her new haircut (probably from when she appeared in "Chicago.")
He was such a diva on the previous seasons - I'm sure he demanded to be on the panel. Plus, I remember in a previous season that someone said that his opinion doesn't matter because the other judges never agreed with him.
Renato said that Julien never agreed with Ben's opinions (during PC1). As much as Renato was an ass, that was true quite a few times. I dropped the same comment last segment, but I am interested to see how it works having a judge who is also the mentor.
I havent really watched Project Catwalk before except maybe one ep from season 1 but I like Kelly's way of hosting, a bit nicer when she talks to the designers than Iman (PRcanada) and Heidi(from US version), maybe its bec she's younger or less of a fashion icon but still I like her style.

Clinton's outfit was really fashion-forward. The panel should have given it praise as well.

James was at least better than Tom, like i tou it was all about a qourment, and at least James showed some of that, this it's unbeliave -______-

I like that they cut right to the chase and said the worse rather than those ridiculous dramatic pauses and stuff that was in last season.

Check out all of them - canada, (which has Iman, so its worth watching just for her) and Australia. They are fun :)

If they award immunity to winner, Im sure the contestants will take more risks, and push the show to another level.
