Just before he retired he was outta control. I remember that cat throwing our studio equipment around the room and breaking the arms off the decks and the police were powerless to do anything about it. That was in the Luton area back in the late 80's and early 90's.
By the way 300 Watts into any kind of antenna still gives you 300 Watts.

isn't 104.0 a bit of a busy frequency to broadcast on with BBC Sheffield on 104.1 and BBC Lancashire on 103.9, both very strong in Manchester

We was 25w into 4db gain j-pole antenna totalling 100w with a good HAAT (HIGHT ABOVE AVERAGE TERRAIN) we was dorset wide, thats a hell of a coverage

No it was 300 watts standard but the high gain made it over 1000 erp & i was over 1000 feet above sea level.
