  • VG-10 is better than S30V imo. It's harder and easier to sharpen. Too bad Benchmades uses the inferior 154CM.

  • @ Anansi666 Now the vg10 may be good but nothing like ,say s30v and the price for this is kinda overkill. Btw the tip bent in like lead after a stab to a board :/ The clip was nice for deep pocket carry but not exactly fast for SD situation deployment,so sold it. Just to manny drawbacks for me. Spyderco knives are the best for me now.

    Regards,Paul.

  • @gonfley I'd much rather have VG-10 than the absurdly hard S30V. What good is a steel when it chips if you drop it?? I think VG-10 is the best steel for knives along with 154CM a close second.

  • @chewouch Yes,you are very right there ,VG10 keeps that shaving ability longer and is less brittle BUT S30V keeps the working sharpness for a longer time and has a better rust resistance.

  • @gonfley Yeah, but there's just something I like better about VG-10. Well, actually it's like I said, it's not going to chip if you drop it, at least in my experience. Why on earth would ZT make their 0350 and 0300 models out of S30V? Aren't these dupposed to be "hard use" knives??

    1. The VG-10 steel is a serious improvement from the AUS 8 steel used in most SOG blades. It holds an edge VERY well.

    2. It has one of the best clips of any knife I have seen. It allows the knife to sit deep in the pocket, has ridges for easy non-tactical removal and a raised end (the "O" part) for swift tactical removal.

  • how much do you think one of these used would sell for

  • @aceman1351 well it depends how much it was used if its brand new not used i think it should be close to the original price, but if its used kinda propeply i think -30% of the price is fair game, btw i sold this one for five bucks more than i bought it for im really good at sharpening the buyer thought it was brand new,and wouldnt recommended buying this i think sog does a shoty job on the heat treat, dosent hold an edge all that well,go for spyderco.....

  • Very nice SOG, they make great blades.

  • your write but the deep pocket clip is kind of annoying it just snacks the pocket you have to put in all off force to yank it out not fast when in tactical situation.

  • Use the lanyard holes, make a small lanyard with paracord. Makes a great handle to assist in pulling out the blade. Most of my pocket knives have them.

  • no dice if i put both the clip and the lanyard it gets snaged on the the clip some weird way bcuz the hole its half covered by the clip.

  • That wont work then.

  • wait what were you saying about the crkts clip screws they go in the liner write? as in drilled in the steel ? in that case if they are still falling out for ya you should get some knife loctite. sorry there is this problem i cant see my mail inbox message lol ,some kind of glitch :P

  • Nevermind. I found you DO have a review.

  • thanks Mike

  • Good job on the review! you covered all the specs. Nice Motto: Failure is not an option. Looks like you got a good deal on the knife and i think it's very unique that you take the pocket clip off since most people wish that other knife companies would copy SOG's deep concealment pocket clips.
