  • Glen sang this with Brian Wilson's blessings. Love it.

  • Thx for putting it up for us

  • Anybody know what Glen's range was? It seemed quite broad. And both high and low notes were clear and pure, obviously.

  • Great version Glen does a grerat job as only he could ......

  • Beautiful..

  • Its very different from Beach Boys but different is not always bad. Its interesting, at the least. Its a different song with Glen doing it.

  • Excellent song by Brian Wilson. And as much as I respect Glen Campbell, and the fact that he even toured in 1964-65 replacing Brian in Beach Boy concerts, and the fact he played guitar on the landmark Pet Sounds album,... He should have left this one alone. The vocal belongs to Carl Wilson as he recorded it for his brother. That's why Brian didn't sing it. He knew who had the voice for it. Just as Paul Simon knew his song "Bridge Over Troubled Waters", could only be sung by Art Garfunkle.

  • Perfection

  • You ruined it in my opinion

  • Try again, Glen. You sorta stumbled on this one.

  • That's just before the civil war!

  • It should be. He was a Beach Boy taking Brian Wilson's place as their lead singer in the mid-1860s. He'd already played lead guitar on most of their classics.

  • @bjllr LOL, I'm sure you meant 1960's. Wonderful talent. God speed Glen, his new song "Ghost's on the Canvas" is Awesome.

  • Glen & Family....Prayers are with you all. Godspeed Glen Campbell.

  • This is really awesome. I love Glenn Campbell anyway.

  • PU... The vocals aren't bad, but the arrangement and production are awful!

  • That is one of the most beautiful songs ever written

  • @drdanr1 I agree. I think Paul McCartney said this song brought tears to his eyes. It brought tears to mine. I saw Glen Campbell in concert a year ago and he was really terrific. God bless him.

  • This is the best song Brian Wilson ever wrote.

  • Very nice!

  • Did you record this with a microphone? Glen did another Brian Wilson song back in '65 - "Guess I'm Dumb", which the Beach Boys never recorded.

  • Thank you for sharing this beautiful cover with us. My thoughts and prayers are with Glen and his family as he faces an uncertain road ahead with Alzheimer's Disease.

  • @WildAngelJoy Almost everything Glen sings or plays on guitar is just pure heaven. "Gentle On My Mind". I watched Glen at Winstar Casino on June 18, 2010. It was great. My dad had alzheimer's & recently passed away. I wish Glen All the best and will definitely miss him. His kids (Ashley, Cal and Debbie) were great in his concerts.

  • thank you I love him..

  • Glen's arrangement of this song is gorgeous. That simple change in tempo makes such a difference. I love it :)

  • LOVE <3

  • I wonder what the song would have sounded like with just Glenn on his guitar? A sort of unplugged.

  • I have this album! It was my parents'. This is a very touching rendition of a great song.

  • Glen cambell replaced Brian wilson, David Marks was repalced By Al Jardine

  • glen cambell replaced david marks when he left the beach boys in the 60's.

  • @hetjaar

marks replaced al...the al came home the brian was ill and super glen replaced him for a bit then came bruce

  • been looking for that track for years thanks for posting it ..fantastic tune ..made better by glen

  • I agree 100%! His live version 1977 at The Royal Festival Hall surpasses even this!

  • @mmole123 Glen is good but to say he made this song better, you may need to see a Dr.
