Rods, insects. Watched a documentary on the a while back. They did a few controlled experiments with moths or something and this is what you get. A wavy looking rod, which is just blurred flight pattern. Surprised AP even put this story out. Slow news I suppose.
This was explained on history channel's show MonsterQuest. It is a rapidly moving bug. They tried to buld a model of it 6 different ways, and based on it structure it would not fly. I agree with the others in that this is a wack ass news story!
This stuff has been debunked for years already. Google or Yahoo the words Rods or Sky Fish. It is an opitcal illusion caused by insects and cameras of a certain shutter speed. You would think a reporter would have done even a little bit of research.
I filmed them myself also, and did research too. They are comon in winter which rules out insects. They also fly through solid objects, even next to a tornado uneffected so that rules out birds. Got any other debunking to speak of ?
The title of this video is misleading. I thought the couple was scared of night lights...you know, night lights that children use if they're scared of the dark?!? lol
THANK you. Guess most people haven't been told yet, and i was worried for a second that no-one actually knew what it was. Kinda amazing that the Associated Press, with it's many decades of worldwide syndication of video and photographic images, doesn't have anyone on staff saavy enough to at least guess that it's likely a blurred insect in the pictures.
*shakes tiny fist at the Ghost Of Mildred Pierce* thank goddess that UPI died before it got a chance to see it's sister syndicate become a bubblegum machine full of 1 minute pap and agitprop.

There called "Rods". As previous posters have said it is some kind of insect.
This is old news from the 90s, was on a ton of scifi mystery shows back in the day. New news would be they caught and disected one.

I give these people a lot of credit for not saying it was Jesus, because you know they thought it for at least a minute before alerting anyone else.

Stupid story; "not natural". Ok, then why is it setting off the camera? It's probably just a fast moving bug

I don't think any bug has an internal temperature of 86 degrees-not even a firefly
