How I Was Introduced to the Australian V8 Supercars Series

G'day mate! How wonderful it is to see someone outside of Australia declaring their love for this wonderful series! I live in Newcastle, NSW but originally come from the Bathurst region so you can imagine what feelings I have for V8 supercars. You must truly be excited you will be able to see a round up close in Texas 2013! The roar of the V8 engines is even better in person, trust me! @damoharrison i am from the usa,  i love super v8 it is awesome. so much action. it is like watching nascar when it was good back in 70's and 80's the way the guys drive bumper to bumper and not wreck each other.

Great video! I'm pleased to see that the V8s have made an impact abroad as well as in Australia and New Zealand!

I'm heading up to Townsville in July for the races, and I'm sure they'll put on a great show!

I've also always thought that Laguna Seca, would be an awesome circuit to showcase the V8 Supercars. I can picture them trying to go 2 or 3 wide through the tight corkscrew!

Looks like it'll be another bumper season of great racing in the V8s, and I hope you enjoy it John!

A little bit of thread necromancy but...I'm an American that also really likes the Aussie V8 Supercars, unfortunately it's not easy to catch a race on TV here. But I would love to have a race here, there are a couple tracks I think would be good. Laguna Seca like you said, the Indianapolis Grand Prix circuit, and Road Atlanta among others. I was thinking that there should be a US V8 Supercar series and that Ford should bring the Falcon GT over here. I would love to one day see a race down under.

Hi John, thats really amazing that someone from the US has become such an avid V8 Supercar fan. You will have to make the trip out here one day and got to a race, maybe the new Townsville race!!

I agree with your comments on the old Canberra street race, one of the worst circuits ever raced on, almost impossible to overtake on, and they used to run reversed grid races there!
