  • Well what would anyone expect from battlers real Mother! :D

  • Epic BGM ever...seriously

  • Fun fact: The words at the beginning are taken DIRECTLY from Star Trek. Here's the original audio:

    hark (dot) com/clips/krmwmknhhb-believing-oneself-to-be-perfect-is-often-the-sign-of-a-delusional-mind

  • @timeparadox888 Wow nice find! Thanks.

  • @timeparadox888 hell yeah we got japanese sn music and now we got star trek is gettin nerdy up in this bitch!

  • Close to dying of anticipation for Witch-Hunt to finish the translation for Episode 8.

Roughly about halfway through Episode 6, my Japanese stopped being good enough to understand what was being said, so even though I bought a copy of the game, I still can't play it, and that's killing me.

  • Battler: AHA! I'm finally about to beat you at chess!

    Kyrie:.....>:)

    Battler: wait wha-

    Kyrie: (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

  • @BlatentIgn0rance Lol nice ;D you made me lol for realz :O js.

  • @BlatentIgn0rance I'd totally do that.

  • Oddly, I'm reminded of Fascism. :P

  • The words in the beging are in English...

... just think of how freaked out Japanese players were. They didn't have the luxury of understanding what the creepy, distorted voice was saying.

  • @Gordygoo12 Are you not aware that English is actually taught from a young age in most countries outside of America these days? They may not always be the best at speaking it, but it is highly unlikely that a Japanese person would be unable to understand a few lines of English.

  • @EphidelDarkheart Yes, I'm aware that English is taught frequently in Japan. But seeing as those lines would be tricky for a non-fluent speaker on top of the fact that the voice is distorted, I doubt many people would have understood what was said.

  • @Gordygoo12 @EphidelDarkheart More importantly, would they know the source of those words? It's Data and the Borg Queen from First Contact.

  • words cannot describe the epicness of this song.

  • what the heck are they saying at the begining?

  • @padawanSarahTano "Believing oneself to be perfect is often the sign of a delusional mind.

Small words, from a small being, trying to attack what it doesn't understand!"

  • I love Star Trek Contact, and when I heard those lines from that movie, I FLIPPED OUT!!!!!! XD It was so awesome, and it fit that scene in Ep 1 SOOOOOO perfectly!!!

  • How can I found the anime's version? I really want it

  • I couldn't be the only one who thought "Turning the chessboard over" meant rage quitting and literally flipping over the chessboard.

  • @ThatWieselGuy It's basically that, if you are losing you turn the chessboard over.

  • @Walterion Not quite - what they were meaning (from the VN, anyways) is that you have to analyse the 'game board' from your opponents perspective - it's a reference to Kyrie's spin on Game Theory (Wiki it)

  • @RavenholmeCP42 I know what it means, I was joking. Although I did think about someting along the lines of ''if I hit a dead end, I better see how my foe sees things, maybe I will get a better hint on where I am standing right now''.

  • @Walterion Pretty much, yeah

  • Beatrice: come now arise, forgive thy sin, one of the seven sisters of purgatory! Lust!

    Asmodeus: Asmodeus of Lust, present

Beatrice: now carry out the second twilight

    Asmodeus: as you wish *bows*

  • All systems are functioning within normal parameters.

  • Just reminds me of vsing dracula in CastleVania (originals), but I love this melody.

  • Seriously, to be Umineko ended on episode 6. Reading episode 7 makes the entire thing go downhill to hell.

Man, it was such a good ending, why the hell did they have to give us 2 more episodes that blew everything out of the window.

Anyways, for those that are going to read episode 7, just welcome back your COMMON sense that you tossed away in the last 6 episodes. Then everything will be cool.

Also, Kyrie is one mean bitch. One mean, CRAZY ASS, bitch.

  • @Walterion i love Ep7 and 8 <.<

  • @latiaos11 it's okay for you to like something I don't like. It's pretty normal. I think it's called ''Taste'', or something like that.

To me, just playing the first few minutes of Episode 8 just makes me raise an eye brow and think ''Okay, this didn't happen before. What the hell is going on here?''.

I think if the series actually ended by that crazy ass fight of Dlanor and Battler... yeah then I would be satisfied.

Eitherway, we all may or may not have different opinions about it.

  • "Believing oneself to be perfect is often the sign of a delusional mind."

    This. This. Just... this.

  • Wait, what? Star Trek quotes? IN MY UMINEKO?!

"It is time to spin the roulette once again! Come, Seven Sisters of Purgatory! SET PHASERS TO KILL!"

  • @dopelfish Battler: Not again! The line must be drawn HERE!!! This far!!! NO FURTHER!!! And I... will make them PAY for what they've done!

  • @dlausactor6373 I shall leave you as you left me... as you left her: marooned for a thousand years in the center of Rokkenjima.. Broken hearted... broken hearted...

    KINZOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @MecuryStar

    Do you know who's useless?

-Raises hands up in the air, thunder in the background-

    BEATORICHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

  • Battler : "Believing oneself to be perfect is often the sign of a delusional mind."

Kyrie : "Small words, from a small being, trying to attack what it doesn't understand!"

    XD

  • "Believing oneself to be perfect is often a sign of delusions in mind."

  • Background picture is very cool.

  • This is epic! IN RED!

  • Nevermind all your silly story figuring out, why does this song quote Star Trek?

  • I think a lot of people are missing the point now.

We know the culprit. (The 'who')

We know the murders (The 'what') for most of the worlds

We know how things got set into motion (the 'why')

We know the answer to the epitaph, and we know who Beatrice is.

But the truth is still in the cat-box.

In fact, this story isn't about finding the truth anymore I think. Maybe the truth simply isn't important anymore. We've proven what we wanted, we've proven the humans vs witch argument.

  • @SonjaArashi You have it EXACTLY right.

  • Ive got from what I can imaging is all the OSTs/drama CDs etc and cannot find this song, what a bummer.

  • At 1:50.... perfection! What type of music is this, opera? It sounds fantastic! Eerie, like impending danger/death, a hopeless situation.

  • @Hero00 it plays when someone breaks down from paranoia towards the other survivors and gets hostile towards them

  • this seems epicly amazing

  • I love this song soooooooooo much! If only Kyrie is the true culprit... this would become the perfect theme song for her.

  • Because Kyrie is presented as such in ep 7, I'd like to disqualify her as the culprit. In fact, I'm thinking Natsuhi, Eva, and Kyrie are disqualified as possible culprits at this point. As accomplices, however, that possiblility is still open.

  • @Kibafan007

    Spoiler

You can consider Yasu (Shannon/Kanon) as the mastermind and Kyrie + Rudolf as the murderers.

  • @Nutttttter Why would Kyrie + Rudolf follow orders from Yasu anyway?

  • @Kibafan007

    Spoilers!

They don't. Yasu started everything and things went to Hell in a handbasket. Kyrie and Rudolf just took the opportunity. Their motives are still unexplained yet.

  • @Nutttttter Which is why I don't consider Kyrie & Rudolf being involved in the murders. And another thing. Battler is pretty much dead by the end of this, yet there is no indication that Rudolf anything but adores Battler. Obviously, Kyrie wouldn't kill Battler for that reason if nothing else.

  • @Kibafan007

    Obvious spoilers below.

Battler's fate is unkown. I guess he survived, otherwise Bernkastel would have shown his death to Ange. Bern wouldn't miss such an opportunity to inflict pain.

  • @Nutttttter PART 1

I'm thinking that the entire scene was Bern's way of showing what she thought, and had wanted to have, happened. And frankly, not showing what happened to Battler is probably one last shot at Ange. Remember Ange asking Eva what happened on Rokkenjima and to her Onii-chan? (check part 2)

  • @Nutttttter PART 2

I can picture Bern going: "You wanted to know the truth, right? This is why that woman you hated so much didn't tell you anything. Oh, you want to know about what happened to Battler? You can ask hi-OH, right he doesn't know or won't tell you. Well, if he won't or can't, then I certainly won't. Why should I? You died on Rokkenjima, right? Go back in time as a ghost and see what happened to him yourself." Pretty much something like that denying Ange that last bit of 'truth'.

  • @Kibafan007 False. Kyrie has already stated about 1000 times (in more than just episode 7) that she actually hates Battler as he is a reminder of Asumu. She also outright states that she would kill Battler herself if she suspects that Battler doesn't believe whatever lie Rudolph comes up with. Also, one of her reasons for not killing Battler (I don't want Ange to lose her brother) is highly suspect given what she says like 10 minutes later about Ange.

  • Time to turn the... *shoots* ... chessboard over!

  • Kyrie makes mothers look BADASS

  • Umineko is so awesome. One of the few series in which the ladies are more consistently clever and badass than the guys.

  • @grandpianogeorge There should be more women that are like this in a lot of animes... o_o

  • Still think Shannon is the culprit.... maybe Kyrie had a plan, but I think Shannon is it. (Haven't watched episode 7 because can't speak Japanese and English isn't out yet?!)

  • @LastSoul1234

It's still very ambiguous even after EP7. Yasu planned to kill everyone but didn't and Kyrie and Rudolf motives are still unknown.

  • @Nutttttter

For the sake of non-Japanese fans of the novel, please don't give out spoilers like that without warning.

  • @Random1208

    Sorry dude.

  • @Nutttttter money! it is always money!

  • @Light14Lilium

    a SHITLOAD of money.

  • Kyrie's signature move.

I'm going to start to use it.

  • this does seem like a good theme for the murderer. where "rahu goldenslaughterer" is more the theme of murder itself. sorry if that makes no sense.

  • GAWD I NEED TO FUCKIN' READ THE NOVELS

(I began reading the demo of the first novel... it's much better than the anime...)

  • is this kyrie's leitmotif? or is her pic here just incidental?

    ...or is she the culprit!?

  • Gotta flip the chess board over and take a closer look...

  • @phase866

I would flip Kyrie's chessboard if you know what I mean.

  • @Nutttttter Oh my ;D

  • This song is really scary.. REALLY SCARY! >.>''

  • When I first heard this, I was playing EP1 and had been for several hours. It was all dark, because I forgot about turning on the lights (too engrossed). I had no spoilers or anything, so I had no idea what was going to happen.

Suddenly, words for the first time in several hours. I screamed and fell over. It was FANTASTIC. XD

    I love this BGM.

  • @DragonNinja8 I had EXACTLY the same reaction. X3

  • @DragonNinja8 Played nonstop for SIX hours, then this came up: OMFG MOMMY HELP! D: And the lights were out too XD

  • All the music up to this point has been rain/clocks ticking/random loud noises.

Hear this the first time: HOLY SHIT BRACE FOR EPIC

  • @edwardnr17 You're forgetting Suspicion of the Crime of Reading, but that is mostly true.

  • *Flips the chessboard over*

  • Kyrie barely ever makes it ever passed the 1st Twilight. I have to thin it is Nanjo, He makes it the longest it average out of all next to Battler.

  • @RyokoAsakuraLastFan

Again, I shoul ask why. Why would Nanjo kill everyone in the island, including himself? And what does he have to do with Battler and his sin six years ago?

  • Yup, I think those people at 7th Expansion are closet startrek fans. the 'lyrics' of this song are from First Contact. hehehe...

  • @jakinbandw I didn't think it was possible, but I love Umineko even more now! :D

  • [color:gold]ALL OF YOUR ARGUING IS FUCKING STUPID[/color]

  • @true0illusions Gold truth EFFECTIVE

  • AWESOMESAUCE :O

  • Is it just me, or does Kyrie seem the most badass character?

  • @Requiem1160

She got even more badass at the EP7 Teaparty. But I won't spoil anything incase you haven't read it yet. *giggle*

  • @xLadyBernkastel Eeee! No! I've not read it yet D:

    Still waiting on Witch Hunt's translation ;=;

  • @Requiem1160 Have you seen episode 7?

  • @KitsuneHime99 Yup, finished reading it, the Tea Party and the ??? about a week back. She really *is* the most badass character <3

  • @Requiem1160 ikr :) when they are about to get killed by beatrice's furniture it's only kyrie and rudolf who remain level headed and put up a fight~

  • @Requiem1160 Exactly what I thought since EP1... And my guess was right, as I could see in EP7.

  • @Requiem1160 she is nuts -_-

  • Comment removed

  • Oh!By the way,Natsuhi CAN'T be the constant culprit, she was equitted in episode 5!Ty Batora!

  • @nyuurocks May I ask why would Kyrie kill anyone? I mean, ok, let's asume you are right and Kyrie is the culprit. Then, what are her reasons to kill her son, her husband, herself, and her whole family in law, leaving her daughter alone, with her sister Kasumi?

  • @papuel well, i forgot my reasons so I can't back it up.

  • @papuel Assuming that Kyrie doesn't know about Battler's true lineage and doesn't care about him or Ange, the big thing that to me kinda screws with the Kyrie culprit theory is Rudolf's death. Even in EP 7's Tea Party *SPOILERS* (shedidn'tkillRudolf, infactshesuggestedonthrowingawayAngebecauseRudolfwasdead).

  • Also,I'd like to make it known that I do not hate Kyire and that I wish her the same ending Takno got, forgiveness.Plus I am a big fan of her anyway, nothing is more sexy that an attractive woman that plays chess and knows how to handle a gun.

  • Kyrie! =DDD

  • now that it has been revealed that Kyrie is Bat's mom and that his sin is six years old,it supports even more that Kyrie is the constant culprit.

  • Kyrie can't always be the culprit, what about the times when she was dead?

Knox's 10th- Doubles can't be used unless prepared for.

  • Hmmmm.....more than one culprit.Remember in Higurashi, depending on who Takano or Ooishi talked to,that person would go insane?Perhaps it depends on who is kiled in the first twilight. When Kyrie is killed in the first twilights,it may mean someone had defeated her and then procceeded the killings out of madness.Or it is a unique world, like when Shion kills Rika, and Takano doesn't have the chance.

  • @nyuurocks

KYRIE IS SO NOT THE CULPRIT!!!

TT-TT Stop being mean to her...

    I think it's Natsuhi ^o^

  • I wasn't.But the fact that is a six-year sin, that the epitaph's rewards is the resurrection of lost love, that Kyrie is Bat's mom,and that she did not have the intention of leaving the mansion in the third game are plenty of evidence so that she can be proven to be a constant cuprit

  • NO there isn't Nyuurocks. She died too many times, and if she is dead then she didn't commit the crime and therefore she cannot be the constant culprit, but she can be in one or two of the games.

It is completely diffirent culprits in different games, I think. I personally believe Battler is the culprit from the 5th game onwards. Though I AM on the Witch side...

  • @Solo123254 If you read my comment below,it should explain the culprits.Plus now that I hear that Beatrice is not the trolling, murder happy bitch we were lead on to being,I don't think that magic is responsible for the killings.but perhaps trying to fix it.Also there has to be a constant culprit,if not all the kakeras are different and then how is Battler supposed to stop the destruction of the Ushiromiya family.

  • @Solo123254

    SPOILERS

The 5th and 6th games reek of faked murders (at least in the beginning) with Battler most likely being involved. Then something goes wrong and people really die.

  • @Kibafan007 Reek of faked murders? It's outright stated in episode 6 that everyone was just pretending to be dead at first.

  • Weeeelllll....i still think it's Natsuhi =P

But she was killed in the first/second/third/fourth games in the beginning >.>

  • @Firefox935 As I said, not everyone was helpless.someone could have defeated Kyrie. But knowing that they had no proof and would be held accountable, they went through madness caused by paranoia.Or as in the third game,Eva was one of the culprits, but this could be explained by a "glitch" in the kakeras. All the kakeras should be the same, unless a factor is changed.

  • @Firefox935

I don't think it could be Natsuhi simply because she's been given too much screentime, and that seems really third rate for Ryukishi... D:

  • @PhwaKJ

"Ushiromiya Natsuhi is not the culprit!!!" said in red during EP5. Now Kyrie on the other hand...

  • When I heard this first time in arc 1 I freaked out. I think it's pretty freaky, yet very good! :o

  • [GOLD]One of the best BGMs to ANYTHING EVER.[/GOLD]

  • Holy shit. when first this i was like WOW - good suspense

  • [red]Stop abusing gold text, guys[/red]

  • This song is scary, yet AWESOME!

  • isn´t kyrie eleison actually in greece?

  • Yes.

  • so who here came to actually listen to the music rather than jerk off to kyrie's name

  • if shes so great how come she always fukin dies

  • Kyrie IS the island!!!!

  • Kyrie is latin for god >.>

  • FORESHADOWING @_@

  • [RED] Kyrie in latin means absolutely nothing. [/RED]

  • @germazara89 You just lied in the red truth![Gold] I can guarantee you that the name Kyrie DOES mean God![Gold]

  • Indeed [GOLD] It's true that Kyrie means God, but in latin is just a bunch of random letters. [/GOLD]

  • Also[Gold]Let it be known that both of these are in latin[gold]

  • You're wrong. Kyrie is GREEK for God. God is "Deus" in Latin. Also, nobody really has any idea what gold truth really is yet, only speculation.

  • @jackal912 Wow,then all those songs are wrong.Hurray,i've been defeated!*turns to pile of ash*

  • @jackal912 But what does it matter?Kyrie still means god.And so,she pwns.

  • @jackal912 Theos is greek for God. is Kyrie new greek or are there 2 different ways to say God in greek?

  • [Red] It is stated that the Gold Truth can be inferior to the red truth. Also, none of you are the Gamemaster, so you cannot use the Gold Truth. I[/red]

    Who else loves this music.

  • *ignores*

  • We shall see.

  • note, her death is pronounced in red 4th arc.

  • The way Kyrie looks there, makes me think she may be an awesome True Culprit <3 *O*

  • No.....Dame da.Zenzen dame da!

Kyrie may be a little cold. But that makes her cool, because her intentions are good.

It just wouldn´t be her,to do something like that.

  • I know she's cool! She's my favorite char... (Yeah, even above Beato xDD), but think about it, she's the one that made Battler use the whole "Chessboard" thinking, maybe that was part of her plan? Also the fact she told him to believe on the witch... Well, I don't know, I just think that around the 18, she is the coolest for a True Culprit <3 I just can't imagine chars like Gohda or Kumasawa saying they are the culprits xDDD

  • in alliance she did happen to tell battler to believe in a witch if he saw one. moreover she was one of the only people who were confirmed to be alive after kinzo appeared by telephone call, also including Krauss. implying that they were in on the murder.

    sooooo

those responsible for the 4th game should include ghoda Kumasawa (they said that kinzo was still alive, failing to mention which kinzo ) Krauss and Kyrie the two who ended up shooting out everyone else.

  • Then I'm sure you know what else she is which, unlike her being the real culprit, is confirmed.

  • A certain someone's birth mother right?

  • Maybe~

  • @CyberBoyX Is this a spoiler? T_T

  • @MidgarZolom Don't worry, as far as the chapter 6 goes, this is not a spoiler.

  • @papuel

Chapter 6? How far is that? I've only watched the first season of the anime. Haven't played any of the VN, so any current VN stuff would be spoiler for me I assume...

  • @MidgarZolom Ok, maybe my words were a bit confusing. EP6 is the last chapter of the novel at this time (EP7 will be out this summer). That means that is far beyond the anime. But what I mean was that nobody knows who is the real culprit yet, so what RyokoAsakuraLastFan said was not a spoiler, but his/her thoughts

  • @papuel

Thank you, that is so relieving. I'm paranoid about watching all these great confusedkitsune Umineko OST uploads now for fear of seeing spoilers in the comments, haha

  • @papuel EPISODE 7 IWLL BE OUT THIS SUMMER!? OMFG >,< I CANNOT WAIT!!! darn.... I tried reading it but with all those Kanji :( I cannot read fully!!! Waiting for witch hunt translations~

  • @AAreborn I didn't read EP'5 and 6 yet, but I plan to start tomorrow xD. I heard that some people read them with Atlas and agth (I can't read more than 80 kanjis >_<), but I found recently a progrma called "Translator agregator", and it's perfect: it uses atlas and some online translators and displays all the translations, so it's easy to understand. I'm very happy with it's results, so I think you should give it a try ( ^w^)

  • @papuel Just want to ask, how do you know (where you get your info) about Episode 7 release? I try to find it but the anime episodes ruined my search~

  • @AAreborn Well, I don't get the information anywhere. Everything Ryukishi07 released was out on a komiket. Since the first higurashi chapter there hasn't been a single komiket without him releasing something (fist higurashi, and now umineko). So I guess ep7 will be out on the next komiket (from august 15th to 17th).

  • @papuel Why don't you just use the English patch by The Witch Hunt? I've used it for EPs 1-5 and it's been great so far. :3

  • @HeartlessMayu But of course. I read Witch Hunt's patch from ep1 to ep4... but then, I wanted to read ep5 and WH hasn't released their patch yet... so I started reading the japanese version xD. I just posted the information about the Translator Agregator for the people who wants to read ep6 now, or, maybe, who wants to read ep7 when it's out... ^.^

  • @papuel Oh, I understand. C: I hope they hurry up on EP6, because I'm already quite far in EP5, and may use your method if I finish it before they are done translating!

  • @HeartlessMayu ep6 is done translating go look on the witch hunt website

  • @Spartanz1170 Thanks for letting me know, but I'm way ahead of ya! ;P

  • @CyberBoyX Kyrie as the Culprit seems more and more plausible after going through Dawn of the golden Witch...

  • @CyberBoyX

    Congratulations.

  • @Nutttttter I knew it!! :D!! XDD!!!! But I don't think she's the mastermind tho o_O

  • @Nutttttter I knew it! XDD!! But we don't know who's the mastermind yet D:

  • @CyberBoyX

Yeah not sure yet who is the mastermind.

  • @CyberBoyX Oh, you'll love EP7 then.

  • @CyberBoyX She is apparently. Her and Rudolf.

  • @maat1996

    *SPOILERS*

It's hard to nail them as the "Masterminds" yet. They were not given a solid motive (EP7. Labeled it as money, which everyone could have done it for), and there is still something going on behind the scenes that we haven't been shown. Not to mention they were not the only ones killing people, they just were much more... direct. Spoiler tag kinnda useless since no one else used one, but I still like to be kind... oh well that's what you get for reading Umineko comments heh.

  • @CyberBoyX Wow I didn't know that was Kyrie O.O

  • @CyberBoyX You should see EP7 now :P
