  • Did not look like this in 1970 but some of the sites are the same, the gun boat in the bay would have been ours, the hotels were French and old...nice video

  • Thanks for uploading this video. I really enjoyed it. My family and I visited Nha Trang in December 2009 and we also stayed at the Phu Quy 2 Hotel. We visited Vina Pearl and our son enjoyed himself in the kids swimming pool. Nha Trang is a great place to spend a few days. Correct me if I'm wrong. Wasn't there a US Special Forces training base located at Nha Trang in the 1960's? Some of the instructors there were members of the New Zealand Special Air Service(NZSAS) Squadron.

  • @ngamo52Nick Yes. Nha Trang was the headquarters for the US 5th Special Forces.

  • @ngamo52Nick

5th Special Forces had a restaurant with the best pizza in the entire Nha Trang area. I was there 1966-67 on the Air Force side.

  • is that Trần Phú street?

  • cool.. nice camera taken good view and wide far..

  • I was there twice, 9 yrs apart, last time in 2003. The feeling when you are there in person is even much greater! There are much much more too see & many beautiful landscapes, seascapes... but I guess it's difficult to gather everything in 1 short video. Love the the original peaceful daily living scene in such a beautiful place (not too comercialized yet at the time I went). in te south I love Nha Trang & Vung Tau

  • Nha Trang is very beautiful!

  • I first traveled to Nha Trang by motorbike from HCMC in 1993 in an attempt to make it all of the way to Da Nang. Had to settle for a bus ride from Nha Trang to Da Nang.

Nice video. Thank you for sharing and reminding me that I need to go back again. *****

  • I LOVE NHA TRANG SO MUCH!!!!

I'll be there during Christmas Break! <33

  • love this video. like the way you went back to 1965. i was there in 70 and 71

  • what happened to the beach?in 1971 the beach did not go a little ways and drop off the way it does now. and the beaches were wider .must be the result of storms through the years?

  • my home town...the place where i was born and raised up until 5 years old..tui nho nha cua tui lam;'[..thanks for uploading;].

  • This is my hometown too!

:) I was raised til 8..then moved to USA.

    (I like Vietnam Better)

  • I've been there 2x, cool place to hang out. Nha Trang Airport had been closed for a while. The land at the airport will develope into housing and shopping complexes. They are using an airport at Cam Ranh Bay, a former U.S. and Russia Naval Base.

  • had some great food in han trang, i didnt rate the beach tho

  • this city is like hawaii

  • if there were more shades and sun not so hot!

  • nice view of nha trang, gives basic feel of the place

  • i just went there this summer. :)

  • nbarry45,

I traveled there also and I had that feeling. It too bad that the VCs are there.

  • I was stationed at 5th SFGA headquarters from April 1970 to March 1971. I knew even then that someday Nha Trang would become a major international resort, and if we were at peace then, I would never have wanted to leave.

  • i am going there weekend to nha trang, saigon

  • I was stationed at Nha Trang Air Base form June 1967 to june 1968 I worked in the big Hanger shown at 3:15 in this video. It's great to see that the city is so vibrant and prosperous. What a great place. I was very lucky to have been stationed there.

  • nice view.... i was there...nice beach but no activities..

  • Thank for uploading ..this place was my hometown ..btw ..how was your trip in Nhatrang?
