The new Sonata has a very aggessive look and some groundbreaking new features, but I promise it will never outsell the camry or accord. Sure Hyundai has released performance cars like the Genesis, and it is suppositly "The most fuel efficient car company" today, also said by Chevy.
The car is not the safest at all. And I prefer to have three or five years of warranty if the car maker accept the problems while I use that warranty. This doesn't happen with Hyundai or Kia and you know that. See my videos. Toyota even has direct injection (gasoline) in Toyota Auris, etc. etc.
I'm not who is writing about other car makers but I don't like msgs. like 'Toyota is over' and those ridiculous comments without arguments. I love writing right things :) Awaiting for msgs.

Korea applied in its economy the same economy system as China when they started selling in the US, which, after years based its economy in the same system as Japan, which means, at least, Japan has been example for Korea. Since the beginning in the US any Japanese company has focused even budget in improvements (unlike others). which mean, since the beginning Toyota has created the most reliable cars as they are and they will. i have owned and do own 2 hyundai vehicals. A sante fe and elantra, i have had both for two years and zero problems as opposed to the Chev;y z71 LT and toyota FJ i bought and got rid of. Problem is...... I just am not buying anymore new cars till i am done with the two i have now. Hyundai is a solid car and that is real world experience i am laying down here.
This Sonata isnt bad... But NO V6 !!!!... I havent driven a 4 banger since high school and college and I dont miss it one bit. 4 cyl are noisy, coarse and no instant torque. Yes the turbo will kick in later but not till you hit 3-4K RPM. The only thing good about 4 cyl is the gas mileage, and thats it. Turbo can not subtitite the smoothness and the intant power or a V6.

Regarding the absence of a V6, here's how I see it:
1) New 4 cyls are using a totally different technology and are neither noisy nor coarse
2) Where are you going with a midsize sedan that you need the "instant power of a V6"?? these 4 cylinder engines give you more power & acceleration than your average V6 from the 90s AND better gas mileage. Meanwhile speed limits are still the same and you have more traffic in most cities so...
It's interesting that while Toyota has been cheapening their cars, Ford and Hyundai have been investing money into their vehicles. What are the results? Hyundai and Ford are gaining market share, Toyota is losing, big time.

i sure hope Hyundai's better than it use to be because we owned two of them & they seriously sucked ass (2000 elantra, & an excel forgot which year). toyota & honda have been consistently good from the begining!!!!!

Sharp uses Patterned Vertical Alignment, but since patent problem (gosh this happened 2 years ago..), Samsung developed Super Vertical Alignment, and furthure more Samsung switched to LED technology and they developed their own OLED called AMOLED.

According to the latest "Consumer Research", Hyundai Sonata got higher predicted reliability score than Toyota Camry. And latest "Car and Drive" and "Motor Trends" give higher score for Hyundai Sonata than Toyota Camry in the quality check.

Many car makers use CVVT technology, Toyota as well. Hyundai Tau engine was awarded Ward's 10 Best Engines consecutively 2 years. Tau engine is regarded one of the best engines by Americans.

The new Sonata has a very aggessive look and some groundbreaking new features, but I promise it will never outsell the camry or accord. Sure Hyundai has released performance cars like the Genesis, and it is suppositly "The most fuel efficient car company" today, also said by Chevy.

The car is not the safest at all. And I prefer to have three or five years of warranty if the car maker accept the problems while I use that warranty. This doesn't happen with Hyundai or Kia and you know that. See my videos. Toyota even has direct injection (gasoline) in Toyota Auris, etc. etc.
I'm not who is writing about other car makers but I don't like msgs. like 'Toyota is over' and those ridiculous comments without arguments. I love writing right things :) Awaiting for msgs.

And YES, the same segment. Toyota Avensis same class as Hyundai Sonata and they already have a 2.0 with around 180hp with a real consumption informed even under that false info. On the other hand, the engine is still an old CVVT, so, they still have to work to get a better engine. And you perfectly know.

Since the beginning in the US any Japanese company has focused even budget in improvements (unlike others). which mean, since the beginning Toyota has created the most reliable cars as they are and they will. i have owned and do own 2 hyundai vehicals. A sante fe and elantra, i have had both for two years and zero problems as opposed to the Chev;y z71 LT and toyota FJ i bought and got rid of. Problem is...... I just am not buying anymore new cars till i am done with the two i have now. Hyundai is a solid car and that is real world experience i am laying down here.

This Sonata isnt bad... But NO V6 !!!!... I havent driven a 4 banger since high school and college and I dont miss it one bit. 4 cyl are noisy, coarse and no instant torque. Yes the turbo will kick in later but not till you hit 3-4K RPM. The only thing good about 4 cyl is the gas mileage, and thats it. Turbo can not subtitite the smoothness and the intant power or a V6.

Regarding the absence of a V6, here's how I see it:
1) New 4 cyls are using a totally different technology and are neither noisy nor coarse
2) Where are you going with a midsize sedan that you need the "instant power of a V6"?? these 4 cylinder engines give you more power & acceleration than your average V6 from the 90s AND better gas mileage. Meanwhile speed limits are still the same and you have more traffic in most cities so...

Its amazing how Hyundai just keeps growing stronger as a business of automotive quality: The cheapest cars on the market, some of the safest, most fuel efficient models, and the best warranties around: 10 years/100,000 miles. The sonata always ran with a hefty 22/32 fuel economy a a roomy, comfortable ride, but now this car is every bit as sexy as the Mazda 6, Saturn Aura, Mercedes Ben, etc with newly improved, class leading fuel economy. elegance + quality = Hyundai. Watch out Toyota and Chevy.

And it happens as well with technology from Fuji and happened with Pioneer.

Sharp uses Patterned Vertical Alignment, but since patent problem (gosh this happened 2 years ago..), Samsung developed Super Vertical Alignment, and furthure more Samsung switched to LED technology and they developed their own OLED called AMOLED.

The engine is nor for speeding but for low CO2 emission and better mileage which suites its purpose.

Samsung copies patents from Japanese makes (Sharp, Fuji and Pioneer (check it)) to sell TV illegally; and Hyundai sells cars (even the TAU ENGINE) with OLD CVVT technology and they try to sell the cars with those prices. You know what. I was raised in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, where my grandmother was born. I'm a quarter Japanese. And I'm a little worried over recent falls of Japanese quality in many ways. Don't assume that I hate Japanese companies. I'm not interested in them, but I hope they'll get better as before.

Take a look at Toyota recalls. And falling reliabilty scores of Toyota cars in recent years.

(1) Patents enfringement: this happens almost every year among technology companies. I found the article over Samsung vs Sharp patent thing. It's reported as follows:
Samsung infringes four Sharp patents. And Sharp also violated two Samsung. So the US judge recommended that Sharp/Samsung products be banned from the U.S.
It's mutual copies.

Japanese car makers used to make quite reliable cars which are no longer available.
According to the latest "Consumer Research", Hyundai Sonata got higher predicted reliability score than Toyota Camry. And latest "Car and Drive" and "Motor Trends" give higher score for Hyundai Sonata than Toyota Camry in the quality check.

Have you ever been in the States?
Smasung sells more than any other Japanese brand, even though the price isn't cheaper.
Hyundai/Kia hardly sells in Japan, but they'll sells better than Nissan in recent years.

Many car makers use CVVT technology, Toyota as well. Hyundai Tau engine was awarded Ward's 10 Best Engines consecutively 2 years. Tau engine is regarded one of the best engines by Americans.
