I don't support a border wall, but I do support following through on current immigration laws and deporting as many illegal immigrants as we can. BTW, using the Ronald Reagan quote was disingenuous as his quote is in reference to the Berlin Wall which separated two sections of the same country (prior to WWII). America and Mexico have been independent of each other for over 150 years ... so that comparison doesn't fly.

I agree, but the fence issue isn't just about illegal immigration. It is about border land owners being denied their rights to property they worked hard for; it is about environmental issues; it is about local issues in border cities that are counted as the top poverty zones in America. The money for the wall could go to help those communities instead of what it is proposed to do. It will not stop border crossings. Federal fugitives? You make them sound like criminals, and they aren't until an immigration judge decides so. This is America, and we are innocent until proven guilty. It will only make the problem worse.

If they are crossing the borders illegally, taking jobs on a cash basis( tax fraud),posting false social security numbers (a federal crime),selling drugs, transporting drugs, murder, rape,identity theft. These are all crimes that have been perpetrated by illegals. We have enough problems with our own criminals we don't need more. Look for work in your own country. If they have truly been in the US working and trying to make a better life, I don't see why that should be punished. Instead, fine them and offer them a pathway to citizenship. They are simply being deported without a trial as is stated they have a right to under said laws. You see, not all undocumented immigrants are criminals, yet they are being treated as such. If they were to be processed under "said law", then many of them would have a right to be here even if they were illegally in the country. It just depends on the law they violated.
