This was played at the Wembley Stadium gigs in September 2010, immediately followed by Undisclosed Desires (as you can just about make out right at the very end). Cool jam, but I prefer Helsinki and Osaka :)
If, by any reason, Matt gets called back to heaven, leaving these to behind, I'm all on favor that Chris and Dom press on with this style of music! They'd successful as hell!
@451harri Fuck you. 1984 is possibly the best book I've ever read, and I'm sorry Matt's usage of classic literature as an inspiration offends you. I'm not saying Chris and Dom shouldn't write, but if you can't appreciate all that Matt has to offer to (heaven forbid..) make the band unique and stand out, well then... fuck you
@BassManGilbert Matt's refusal to do anything other with classic literature other than derive lyrics from it with very little original or unique input of his own in order to pad out the dullest album he's ever written is what irks me, but it doesn't offend me.
I never said anything offensive, nor did I make any personal remarks. I'd like to know how you can possible justify what you just said to me.
@451harri He hasn't refused at all.... It seems that all you listened to on the album was Resistance because the rest of the album really has nothing to do with classic literature.
@BassManGilbert They all deal with the common theme of love and rebellion in the face of oppression in an incredibly ham-handed and uninspiring manner, with the exception of Undisclosed Desires and Exogenesis (two of the high points in the album imo), themes which seem to have been lifted straight from Orwell's book with little regard for context, meaning, analysis or interpretation: instead we get mere references .
Now, can you answer my question? How can you justify what you just said to me?
@BassManGilbert If you listen to the lyrics there are quite clear links to 1984 in most of the songs. But i agree with you, we, as muse fans should support muse' decisions. Personally I liked the resistance (album) it was different and it came out just after i read 1984 for the first time, but i must admit, there is a showbiz shaped hole in my heart these days...
@Blindshooting Why in god's name have two seperate people both decided to insult me just for having an opinion about the writing of The Resistance? can you possibly justify calling me a dickhead for that? what the hell is going on here? If people will treat me like a scumbag just because I thought their latest album was lackluster, then I assume that means any of you people would physically assault someone who hated the band completely, right? RIGHT?
@451harri Welcome to the Internet. Enjoy Your stay. Don't feed the Trolls and you will be safe. Beware of malintentioned links, spam and malware. Don't put your credit card number anywhere. Ah, and expect this kind of crap.
@Stover36 You're right, I should have just left it.... thanks for being one of the few replying commenters who didn't take it upon themselves to rip me apart for my opinion.
@451harri I thought The Resistance was fantastic but please don't let idiots like these get to you. You're bound to get insecure losers on the internet who insult people with different opinions to them. Just ignore him. Someone with so little manners should not be paid attention to.
@GOR225 Cheers, but everyone is like that on the internet. "that guy disagrees with me? oh, well I'll just see if I can't counter his criticisms by... starting a reasonable debate? no, I'd much rather shout him down with obscenities in the hopes that my viewpoint will be considered objective truth!"
I wouldn't have been bothered in the slightest, but people have actually started giving that comment a load of good ratings. The youtube comments section is like the stone age.
@451harri Yes, youtube comments are the absolute bottom of the internet, the bottom of the world. This is where the stupidest people hang out. You're right, the internet in general just seems to be made up of the absolute worst people
@GOR225 You just know that if you met them inreality they'd be perfectly acceptable to you about your opinion. If I'd actually said that to BassManGilbert in real life, he wouldn't have dared said what he did. Not because I'm hard or scary or anything, but because most people are just decent and don't like to attack other people. But when you put people on the internet, suddenly the consequences of attacking others are non-existent unless they take the time to judge themselves for what they say.

@451harri Do you think? To be honest I would say they're probably not nice people in real life, they're just the same. They're probably just some dork with no friends because they don't know how to act around other people properly (such as getting angry when someone has a different opinion), which is why they spend time insulting people over the internet. Although the internet definitely brings out the worst in people anyway
@benhs1898 Excuse me? why are you being so aggressive towards me? I didn't make any remark about you. Furthermore, your statement has no logical basis.
@451harri It was my opinion on your opinion. I am entitled to it right? haha. The point is this: Your initial comment had no legitimacy as the whole album was clearly not based on one book. One song was. If you take issue with lyrics based off literature there are a number of brilliant musicians you should not listen to. To span the genres and give two examples, Bob Dylan's early work and The Cure. You did not have the analysis to back up your statement, therefore, you shouldnt have made it.
@benhs1898 There's a large difference between an "opinion on someone's opinion" and "an attack on someone else for their opinion". There's also a large difference, to me, between songs on "The Resistance" which are drawing heavily from themes found in 1984 (there isn't just one) and songs of a similar nature like, say "Killing an Arab" by The Cure. Namely, that I enjoy the latter but not the former. Why does it bother you?
@451harri It doesn't bother me really. I am sort of reacting to the emotionality of your responses. You asserted a strong opinion and when the beautiful world of internet flaming licked back, you seemed hurt as if they violated you somehow. I you want to assert something, you must have the stones to stand your ground and the thought behind it to take on their arguments. Otherwise, it just sounds bitchy. K?
@benhs1898 I'm standing my ground and I'm defending my argument, as you just saw. And just because personal insults are common on the internet, that doesn't mean I should start accepting it. I'm not hurt, I just don't think it reasonable for people to call me a dickhead just because I said what I thought, your own opening comment included, even if you think my first comment contained a lot of emotion. I assume that's what you meant when you made up the word "emotionality". So no. Not "K".
@benhs1898 Holy shit. your profile says you're a grown man. Could you please act like it?
Seriously. "If you understood, you would realize that I am right". That's some insane, illogical shit, right there. insulting someone for having an opposing opinion is one thing, claiming that the only reason they believe it is because they don't understand the opposing view is a whole new level of batshit crazy.
@451harri Honestly, your initial comments are not even relevant on this video. That is why you are getting flamed. And I am only a half grown man, thank you very much. I can't help being a bit short, jeeze.
@benhs1898 My initial comment? "Chris and Dom should write the next album. And tell Matt to shut up the next time he mentions 1984."
An allusion to how Chris and Dom are really good at making music, as evidenced to this music, and it expresses my distaste for Matt's writing on The Resistance.
@sskrockband I got this from torrents.musebootlegs(dot)com and after a little searching (about 5 minutes) I couldn't find it again. It's possible they removed it from the site for whatever reason. Still plenty of goodies on there for a Muse fan!
If your dying for these exact videos, then I suggest getting a Youtube Downloader (5 minutes on Google should get you a free one) and get them from here. Sorry I couldn't help more!
