Death must really have one hell of a soft spot for Dean, considering he gives him so much help and Dean i sso rude to him, anybody else probab;y would be six feet under if they treated Death that way

That's why Sam gets his soul though, Death likes Dean or he figured the incident with the nurse and little girl taught Dean his lesson. Thats why I think Death wanted Dean to do his job, to teach himone hell of a lesson about the natural order.

@15Crusoe91 Death wanted Dean to investigate souls and in a round about way, stop Castiel from stealing souls.  Unfortunately Dean fell asleep on that job once he got Sam back, which is all he cared about.

@fbdarkangel Personally, I think it had more to do with the promise the angels had made. He had kept his end of the bargain, so they had to keep their end. Like when making a deal with the demons, they have to follow through and the angels have the same rule. Since he was promised the chance to be with his mother, it would be logical, following st line, that he would be upstairs and not downstairs. With his mother as promised. I could be wrong however, but it's logical if one thinks about it.

so glad that souless sammy is over. i miss no need those heartfelt brotherly moments for the winchesters. and i know how others feel "souless he was awesome" but a lot of this show has been about family. take that a way and you pretty much lose the heart of the show. and sam dealing with emotions is what makes him so interesting. so those who are whining about sam being a push over : back off!! please :)

@Iwiccaozzie As it turns out, Sam scratched once, learned his lesson and was fine until Castiel destroyed the wall as leverage against Dean, and then refused to "fix" Sam out of spite towards Dean. No wonder the Egyptian God of self-flagellating guilt went after Dean.

I am so happy that Sam got his soul back. I was really hoping that they wouldn't let it drag out the rest of the season. I am also happy that Dean wouldn't have to kill Sam, cuz he was debating it before Death said he would get Sam's soul.

Wow, not the way I pictured Sam getting his soul back at all. Who knew Death would actually help ? But if you watch the preview to the next episode; Like A Virgin. Sam still looks a bit off. I think secretly, maybe Sam's spell worked. Only one way to find out I guess, January 28th here I come !

@DeeTheory I don't think he managed the spell at all, because Dead stopped Sam before he could get the blood of a father figure and he doesn't know anyone else. He probably looks off because he probably remembers everything he experienced in Hell and knows how Dean felt when he went to Hell.
