I sure hope he used a cast iron flywheel, instead of the usual aluminum one... trust me i know why that´s important, normally the blade is the flywheel on these babies.

I'm making a go kart out of a lawnmower engine too, but i am just twisting the belt 90° to meet the rear axel pulley! The cool thing I found out about lawnmower engine is that they have that switch that has to be pressed down to be on, the part on the handle you normally hold down when lawn mowing and I use that as the kill switch! Its pretty good so far!

the rear axle or the engine shaft?? well the rear axle is turned but the pulley that u see spinnin, that pulley spins a worm gear and turns the shaft, the shaft is geared down a second time inside the wheels with some gears

the engine shaft still needs a pulley put on, so it never did drive, its just sitting in my garage rite now!! :P

to get the engine shaft to turn the wheels you have to have 2 pullyes one one the engine and the seckond on the trans- mission

it doesnt move yet cause i cant get that shaft collar off for the blade that used to be on there, when i do get that off, ill replace it with a pulley then build some kind od steerin system

you should use a torch to losen it and try prying on it.wd-40 is ur friend and also a torch.

u cant yet cause its not finished. for the vertical shaft, i used a gearbox from a self propelled push mower and connected it to the wheels
