Future Of The Left is pretty amazing as well - gotta love their last album - still as rockin' as Mclusky, but they add a lot of cool electronic textures which just makes it all the more raucous...
@iwannawatchrratedvid hey man! i didn't even realize there WAS another Mclusky spin-off! yeah, you're totally right FOTL is fun as hell - but NOTHING will ever touch Mclusky's stuff - especially the really cathartic stuff like "You Should Be Ashamed, Seamus" - the live version on Mcluskyism is ridiculous!
hehe thats a coincidence now. my mcluskyism just arrived in the mail today. i only had the albums so far but watching this video remembered me to order the mcluskyism which i wanted to have since i was 16
@iwannawatchrratedvid i wish i had known about Mclusky when i was 16! it would've saved my ears from the garbage i let mainstream "rock" compacted into my ears! i didn't start getting into truly great music till i was about 17 - i have a lot of local Winnipeg acts such as KEN mode, Malefaction and Electro Quarterstaff to thank for that! it's amazing how hearing a few bands can open your mind to a lot of great underground music!
i was like only listening to stuff like limp bizkit, sum41, blink 182 and all that stuff till a friend forwarded a sonic youth song to me. since then im pretty much only listening independent stuff.
mclusky is amazing..but future of the left...not so much. i saw them live the first time i heard them and i was not impressed. they opened for Against Me! and were followed by Ted Leo and the Pharmacists and i have to say that they definitely got played right off the stage. Mclusky is amazing...i just was not impressed by Future of the Left
"in the midst of all the killing and skin eating we forgot about the loving." This very line appears in the Simpsons. whats the story? Surely that's not coincidence... could some one explain?
sounds like something off surfer rosa!

@atrocityexhibition08
future of the left is nice but shooting at unarmed men is the better mclusky spinoff band imo.
also neither of them are even close to beeing as good as original mclusky used to be.
fucking best band on the planet.

Ok... a rather blatant steal of "Doolittle"-era Pixies. BUT... this is still completely awesome.

@grahamlaur This sounds absolutely nothing like ANYTHING off of Doolittle, save for the vocals on Tame.

Goddamn this song is good.

The problem with this band was that they were too lyrically abstruse for their own good. Too bad.
