GHD is way better if you have curly or really long hair. Chi works well for just semi wavy hair or really thin hair, but if you have thick or curly hair, definitely get the GHD because it stays heated to where you only have to go over a strand once or twice. The Chi cools off and loses heat as you go down the hair, which is why you find yourself going over your hair ten times to get it completely straight.
Chi sucks I got one and the piece of shit broke or something because now it doesn't even get hot enough to straighten my hair and all it does is make it puffy..I am pissed.
Honestly, I had a CHI and it broke a few weeks ago so I was looking online for the best straightener. I kept seeing the ad for the Karmin G3 Salon Pro so I decided to check it out. It was a good price and works better then my old CHI. It's been 4 weeks, and so far it's worked GREAT.
If you want a professional straightener and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair. You can buy from My Hair Styling Tools or Hair Products Pro. Good luck and I hope this helps.
i really didnt like the chi i used my stepmoms for a week when i saw her and the first day i used it it fried a part of my hair....cuz it didnt have a thing to lower the heAT...IS THERE A goood one u can lower the heat..cuz othere wise i do no its a good straightener????

The best straightener I've tried is the Karmin Professional Titanium, it works pretty good and leaves my hair super straight and soft :)

@mvs739 Are you sure hers war real? A CHI shouldn't damage your hair.
And I would suggest a GVP from Sally if you don't want a CHI, since CHI is expensive, but I'm really not sure about changing the heat setting.
Whatever you get, make sure it's ceramic.
