Madonna was shocking and a pioneer in the 80's, but thats the norm these days. And what exactly is ageist about what I said? Maybe you should listen to Madonna and look it up.

@WacoJohnnieDean You dont stay at the top of your game for 30 years without talent. Sorry. Doesnt happen. You can fool some people some of the time, but you cant fool them all of the time. No on in the music business has ever stayed on top for such a consistant level like Madonna has. Sure there have been people around longer, but none that have had the constant level of success and attention like she has.

@Bain1998 She hasnt been at the top of her game in 15-20 years. Any success she has now is because of what she has done in the past. Take the Madonna name off the album, and people wouldnt even bother downloading it for free. I guess no one who has had fame goes away gracefully...you always have to throw them out on their butts.

However, in retrospect, she probably didnt say anything that warranted my original comment. I read into it more than was actually said which rubbed me the wrong way

@WacoJohnnieDean Not being argumentative but to suggest Madonna hasn't had success in the last 20 years is ridiculous. She has sold around 90m albums worldwide since 1992 and her tours have been constant sell outs. The Sticky & Sweet tour is the highest grossing by a solo artist in history. If that's not success I don't know what is.

@TheMadonnaEffect In my mind she is not relevant, but thats probably due to the fact that she has been around since the 80s. I remember when she first started out, but I have long since moved on. Its more than likely the reason why I am so ready to be disgusted by anything she does. The only time I hear of her is when she is in some sort of controversy. Gets old, but I guess people still like that about her.

I'm glad madonna said that cos I thought a couple of her songs sounded just like madonna's. I'm not a fan of either but growing up as a child my sister used to buy and play all of madonna's records as they came out. I also know all of New Kids on the Block's songs which is nothing to boast about either but it cannot be erased.
