fact is the i7 920 is only like what 2.66GHz? and it still beats the Phenom 2 955 in some benchmarks. also you can overclock the i7 920. i would say a i7 920 at an equal clock speed of the phenom 2 955 it beats it and then some. yes you can overclock the 955 but at that point the i7 is still faster than it.
That is a fallacy. Although Intel gets better benchmarks and does better day to day things such as video encode and video decode, when it comes to games, AMD/ATI combo is best. The biggest problem with reviews you've seen is that they don't crank their shit. Most reviews hit only 2x or 4x in AA and AF, but everyone knows you can force 24AA and 16AF via your GFX control panel, so why don't they? The answer: AMD ATI combo runs better than any other, but review sites don't want you to know this.
well, go spend some money and fine out, review sites will never tell the truth, if you don't believe me look at all reviews, only reason nvidia is stronger in those tests is because they dont use full 24AA and 16AF, if they did, their benches would be much lower. My Buddie has a 295 and he gets the same fps as me in all games @ 1680x1050 and I only have a 4870 1Gig. Now explain why we get the same fps when setting our gfx consoles to 24x AA and 16xAF? dont be afraid to do your own research...
ATI does exist, AMD just owns ATI. There cards aren't branded AMD, there branded ATI. The purchase of ATI was a good thing because it let them get ahead in the integrated graphics game, and they will eventually be moving graphics into the processors. ATI is becoming more popular because nVidia is making some mistakes on there graphics cards causing defects, and Crossfire boards are a lot more common than nVidia boards.
graphics for games, and rendering, ati is going a great job no matter how you look at it.

Fact is Phenom II 955 actually does better with higher resolutions than the i7 920, theres been 3 benchmarks showing that.
