  • if find most people will telll you to throw a flick with your two fingers angainst the edge and the other againts the edges aswell except outside of the frisebee

  • making me hungry 'chicken wing'....

  • i especially like how you got that frisbee from moes

  • 1. that is a whamo...aka p.o.s.

    2. you dont throw a hammer when a guy has a hard mark

    3. that is a good example of a travel

  • Frisbee = yawn

    Disc Golf = Yay

So much more to disc golf than there ever will be to throwing a Frisbee.

  • @jib1000 you never heard of ultimate?

  • you stepped with the wrong foot when you threw your flick. you should really step out with your right foot to allow yourself a passing lane when your being defended.

  • the sledgehammer throw!

  • umm not sure if I'm correct... But I think the flick is actually called a forearm throw, or maybe it's both I could be wrong. Also, the chicken wing you did is a thumber? Again I could be wrong though.

  • @brian2tu yea the chicken wing is more often the thumber, but the flick is the term the pros use

  • Can you throw it behind your back long distance(that is without looking at the person you're throwing it to ) with accuracy? Try it! I impress people when I do it :)

  • if you want your frisbee to be straight, do you angle down your throw? or angle up?

  • @VidN00b dont angle down, bad idea

  • im better than u

  • you would hardly ever throw a back hand starting at your shoulder...or so i've been taught

  • The only time a backhand should go anywhere near your left shoulder is when you throw a high release.

  • niceeeeeeeeee

  • i mastered the 'chicken wing' and can really get some distance with it. i have also heard it called 'the beach huck'. but hardcore ultimate players say it's not to be used. in which situations would you recommend it during gameplay?

  • my friends call it the diskus.

and it should not be used. just learn forehand.

  • the chicken wing is great for long distance throws if you have someone you can bomb it to. i think its one of if not the best throw you can learn

  • I personally disagree..there really isn't any situation where the 'chick wing' would be more beneficial than using the forehand. If you can't get the distance you need with the forehand, then just practice it more

  • It is actually called a "thumber" from the 1970's. It was used by John Bird to win distance competitions. It is Rarely if ever used in Ultimate. The so called flicker is called a two finger sidearm. If you pick up any book on Frisbee you can become very informed.

  • @tntstuff yeah I got killed because I throw a thumber and never learned to flick. The flick is much better in a game because you don't have to change your hand from the backhand position. Plus people don't like when you throw that much heat and the Thumber comes off faster and flies harder. One other thing is the lack of choices in arm position, where with a flick you can throw from many more places. Love this game. :)

  • Different "names" in many locations shows off this great sports popularity. Enjoy!

    Canada cheers to all.

  • Daredevil discs ftw...

Grips should be shown though and an explanation of how the angle a hammer is released at is very important for throwing hammers. That is like the 4th different throw I have seen called a chicken wing. Where I am from your chicken wings are 'thumbers'

  • OMG this guy knows nothing...there is very few instances where you want to start a backhand from your shoulder, that's called high release and only works going downwind, otherwise you release from your knee-ish, certainly no higher than waist, but remember to aim slighty upwards so aim at recievers' waist or just above, that way you won't throw it into the ground. Way less affected by wind down there and won't get blown away. Upside down throw was a scoober.

  • Hey HugeJohn51

Comment:"guy knows nothing" then you say "is very few instances", so which is it?

  • Dude, like I said- very few instances, do you think one backhand works in all situations? Do you think he knows what he is talking about? I'm just trying to be helpful to anyone who might watch this and think that is how to throw.

  • @HugeJohn51 your suppose to throw it by your sholder....not your knee area

  • @HugeJohn51 he's teaching basics. your comment is for more advance players who know a bit more.

  • This guy knows what hes talking aboot, eh?

  • nice!

  • its a frisbee you dick head, and he is good, if he had more time

  • good job now how about the advanced version

  • yeah it could very well be a frisbee. also to judge his teaching ability based on a 1:29 video teaches me that your a dumbass. personally i found the video pretty helpful.

  • 0.35.... you can clearly see that it is in fact a Daredevil Disc (bares the daredevil emblem and is in the daredevil 'lime' foil colour)... not that it's that important or anything... :p
