I know she still loves me, but poor boys who cannot conjugate German irregular verbs and use the quadratic equation while singing Strangers in the Night backwards and jumping up and down on one foot don't fit in their plans.
Good old bring back many memories. Does anybody have by chance WAYFARING STRANGER or VENEZUELA by Burl Ives? I will love also to hear again I LOVE THE PIANO
I have been trying buy this song of Burl Ives and did not think of YouTube. It is not included in any of his many recordings.
I am so pleased that you have posted it.It is a beautiful song sung by a great man with a great interpretative voice. He was so often heard in our home in the late 40's and onwards. This is a true gem and thanks again.
Thank you soooooo much for posting this it was one of the 1st 45's I ever had when I was a kid and I loved played it over and over on my RCA 45 player
Well, yes, I'm reaching somewhat, which is why I said "hinted". But it seems to be clearly implied that she "just wasted away" because her parents were keeping her from seeing Burl. Add to that that she's apparently a rich or at least middle-class girl (they get anorexia more often) and anorexia makes sense. What else does?

The thought of anorexia never occurred to me in this song. Would you please explain how you came to that conclusion? Is it the line "tis said she just wasted away?"

I refer your question to vinylsingleman (below) who made that comment.
