No love for Plasma here? Especially with their excellent black levels, deep colors, and excellent pixel response rate. Great for games and sports. And Panasonic Plasma's are just as reliable as any LCD. G25's are a great value.
I'm looking to buy a HDTV myself. Mainly I will use it for my PS3, so I wanna get a 32" (could be smaller as long as it's 1080p, I wanna get the best quality out of my PS3) LCD 1080p HDTV, and I was wondering, how much should I spend on it? I'm on a pretty tight budget. I can only spend about €500 (that's about $700)? Is it possible to get a TV with specs that I'm looking for for that price?
@mazhas08 ya you can get a TV with that money. and on a side note ps3's(or 360's) don't shoot in native 1080p. so with a HDTV you would just be in 1080i. so getting a 720p would make more sense for gaming.
you solved so many questions i had in 1/10th the effort it took me looking online and even just getting back from the stores that i spent gas, brain cells, aaaaaaaaaaand time on, thank you sir. To give an idea of a highlighted question i had that you answered, was the difference between plasma and lcd for videogames and the movement and clarity + smaller end points i only need 26 inch or less, but thank you man, thanks.
Another aspect to look for if your into video gaming, especially high speed action HD games, is the refresh rates. Standard refresh is around 60hz but if you don't want tearing effects to show up in action games, you should try to find hdtv's with a higher refresh rate than 60hz. Above 80hz is ideal.
60hz don't effect games and tv only movies. 60hz refers to 60 interlaced field shots. 120hz are made because it is divisible by 24hz (movies) and 60hz. anything over 120hz don't make sense. pixel response time is more important for normal use.
