Orbs? Clean your camera lens next time you take pictures. Most orbs are faked, or tiny spots on the lens that the camera shows as bigger white spots. Ask TAPS. Their experts on being fake!

Its a relatively normal thing to feel a place is haunted when you know the backwards sad, lonely history of the place but honestly, not buying it in the slighest. Sad story, but yeah, its just a normal house with an aweful history.
They are currently excavating the back yard area to see what items they may be able to find. It was exciting to see but also sad because we were not able to freely walk the backyard like people have been able to before. I wanted to go to the area where Violet shot herself and see if I could feel anything like I did in the house.

my friends stayed there for a night(rented it for a night stay) with like 5 other people in one room and he said they heard footsteps in the house so much. he said it was really scary

wow thats crazy my teacher was just tellin me about this house she said she went to visit & as she was going up the stairs she got a cluster phobic feeling & she had chills going down her spine. & even though there were no ac's in the house the house felt as it was ice. as she went upstairs in one of the rooms there were curtains all over the room no windows were open or anything & only one side of the curtains were moving and she askd the lady abt it and she told her it moves everyday! But my mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother have been living in San Diego, and working there for their whole lives. my great grandmother owns a couple stores just down the street. The place was never 'haunted' until Old Town began running out of attractions for tourists. They did a really great job of making people think that it is haunted thou.
Nice video I live about 15min from the whaley house, My cousin and I took a couple of pics in some of the rooms one night and didnt really get that much but after taking a shot at the mirrors relfecting the bed you can see a the whaleys dog, it creeps me out like crazy, I noticed looking at what i think was thomas bedroom the bed look like as it has somebody sleeping on it with imprints and everything... super scary

I went there last week, and in the room to the right (if you're coming up the stairs) of the theatre room that dark curtain (by I think it was a dresser or something) was being pulled inward and blown out. I asked it to move the curtain again and it stopped :/ But then again, someone had opened a window - the one in the place that used to be a bathroom upstairs? I took many pictures of everything, but nothing unusual showed up.
I have seen many things on this property. green glow like lights darting out of the room on the first floor, people, etc. I have a friend whose family lives next door who has seen and felt many scary things. First of all those arnt orps just dust and she did not die in the back yard she died in the sitting room on the coach. They will tell you the story of how she killed herself its no secret .
@Adam88722 I never said Violet died in the backyard. Violet shot herself in the backyard privy and her father and brother carried her into the parlor where she died on the couch approx 15 min later. The release of info about Violet from the Whaley House Museum was not yet commonly given out at the time this video was made. That had only recently been released, and is still not on any paperwork at the house though staff will now talk about her death if asked.

Why would spots show up in 1 pic out of 5 taken from the same spot one after another? Why would they show up even when I didn't use the flash? Show me a pic of what you think is a "real" orb.
@patrick95350 - Good point. Although I'm skeptical about orbs and ghosts in general, I try to keep an open mind. Two years ago I was in Valley Forge National Historical Park after midnight, and took about 10 photos. One of the photos had 3 spots in it, and the rest did not. Dust doesn't behave like clusters of flying bugs - it's everywhere. So how could it be that my lens picked up dust particles in one shot and not all of them, when subsequent shots were taken right after? Hmmmmm....

ok, i believe it is haunted but these orbs, well most of them are from the camera. If you take a picture in a certain angle from the direction of some light little orbs show up, the same is with a flash from the camera dust and other things reflect it and make little orbs show up. I am not saying that it was done on puprose and is fake, but they dont really prove anything. Good video though
I know exactly what you mean by the feeling in the house. I went to the Whaley House a few years ago, and after talking to the docent think I saw Yankee Jim. It was up in the Master bedroom at the top of the stairs. I was in the theater across the way, and heard a loud bang. I came over to the room and saw someone appear at the sight of the chair (which I would later learn was thrown up and hit against the wall), run across the room and then vanish before the closet. He ruffled the carpet.
the house was built by whaleys but haunted by jim since the day of its construction is what it was saying, not saying it was built by jim but haunted from start by jim. They should rephrase it a little diffrent because I could see where that bit could be a little confusing if you dont know much about the house.
I went to the Whaley House at like 3am one night with my boyfriend (we were 22 at the time, 24 now). It was the middle of winter, no roses or flowers were in bloom, but when we walked around the garden we smelled ROSE PERFUME. Craaaazy. It is said that a lady haunts the garden and you can smell her perfume. The place wasn't even open and there were no flowers ANYWHERE!!!

Did anyone notice a broken mirror in one of the rooms? I went there when I was little for a field trip, I stared at a mirror in one of the rooms upstairs and it spontaneously broke. I recently visited the Whaley House finding that what i saw was true.
what gets me about this house is that people say they see Thomas Whaley at the house but what I don't get is why Thomas Whaley would return in the afterlife to a place where he was haunted and tortured for all the time he lived there so is he stuck or is it really him maybe it's someone who wants everyone else to believe it's him maybe their trying to get back at him in the afterlife for what he did to this person in life what do you guys think?
ROFL it is QUITE expensive to get i ($10 at night), but it is a living history museum. Though they should spend a bit more money on the garden if you ask me! :-)
im a descendant of phillip crosthwaite, who owned the merchant store with the whaleys. his name is still on the front of the building. he was a 33 degree most worshipful mason. i think some of the masonic rituals he performed added to the occult nature of the whaley house. spooky vid. ive been in the house, smelld the perfume, heard the footsteps.......
Very interesting but I believe there are a few important facts missing. One being that the trial of "Yankee Jim Robinson" was held in 1852, five years before the house was built and there was little information to support the truth that he was hung there. Second the house in the garden was moved to the current location from another part of Old Town. It is said that the disturbances were brought on by the house being moved onto the property. Still in all fun I do believe this is haunted.
Im gonna go there soon, I know this place is haunted. Im not going to be surprised if I do not see or feel anything that's not why I'm going. Just to be in the presence of such a strong... .void? Great producing and editing on the video. They also left out the story of the ghost dog that supposedly haunts the house too. And a little girl that ran in to the close line and broke her neck.Then died on the kitchen table But The orbs are nothing more than dust particles. Especially outside in the back yard. I felt the pressure the other day when I was in there. I was walking out of the theatre into the hall and felt dizzy and a pressure pushing me. I almost fell down the stairs. and then as I was standing in the children's bedroom doorway I felt another pressure tugging on my legs and pushing me. It felt like electricity running through my body.

I couldnt see a lot of the orbs, but it seems kinda creepy. Did you take the day tour or the after hours one? My sister and I want to go there but we dont know if it is worth it.

First of all those arnt orps just dust and she did not die in the back yard she died in the sitting room on the coach. They will tell you the story of how she killed herself its no secret .

@Adam88722 I never said Violet died in the backyard. Violet shot herself in the backyard privy and her father and brother carried her into the parlor where she died on the couch approx 15 min later. The release of info about Violet from the Whaley House Museum was not yet commonly given out at the time this video was made. That had only recently been released, and is still not on any paperwork at the house though staff will now talk about her death if asked.

Why would spots show up in 1 pic out of 5 taken from the same spot one after another? Why would they show up even when I didn't use the flash? Show me a pic of what you think is a "real" orb.

@patrick95350 - Good point. Although I'm skeptical about orbs and ghosts in general, I try to keep an open mind. Two years ago I was in Valley Forge National Historical Park after midnight, and took about 10 photos. One of the photos had 3 spots in it, and the rest did not. Dust doesn't behave like clusters of flying bugs - it's everywhere. So how could it be that my lens picked up dust particles in one shot and not all of them, when subsequent shots were taken right after? Hmmmmm....

ok, i believe it is haunted but these orbs, well most of them are from the camera. If you take a picture in a certain angle from the direction of some light little orbs show up, the same is with a flash from the camera dust and other things reflect it and make little orbs show up. I am not saying that it was done on puprose and is fake, but they dont really prove anything. Good video though

I know exactly what you mean by the feeling in the house. I went to the Whaley House a few years ago, and after talking to the docent think I saw Yankee Jim. It was up in the Master bedroom at the top of the stairs. I was in the theater across the way, and heard a loud bang. I came over to the room and saw someone appear at the sight of the chair (which I would later learn was thrown up and hit against the wall), run across the room and then vanish before the closet. He ruffled the carpet.

the house was built by whaleys but haunted by jim since the day of its construction is what it was saying, not saying it was built by jim but haunted from start by jim. They should rephrase it a little diffrent because I could see where that bit could be a little confusing if you dont know much about the house.

I went to the Whaley House at like 3am one night with my boyfriend (we were 22 at the time, 24 now). It was the middle of winter, no roses or flowers were in bloom, but when we walked around the garden we smelled ROSE PERFUME. Craaaazy. It is said that a lady haunts the garden and you can smell her perfume. The place wasn't even open and there were no flowers ANYWHERE!!!

Did anyone notice a broken mirror in one of the rooms? I went there when I was little for a field trip, I stared at a mirror in one of the rooms upstairs and it spontaneously broke. I recently visited the Whaley House finding that what i saw was true.

what gets me about this house is that people say they see Thomas Whaley at the house but what I don't get is why Thomas Whaley would return in the afterlife to a place where he was haunted and tortured for all the time he lived there so is he stuck or is it really him maybe it's someone who wants everyone else to believe it's him maybe their trying to get back at him in the afterlife for what he did to this person in life what do you guys think?

ROFL it is QUITE expensive to get i ($10 at night), but it is a living history museum. Though they should spend a bit more money on the garden if you ask me! :-)

im a descendant of phillip crosthwaite, who owned the merchant store with the whaleys. his name is still on the front of the building. he was a 33 degree most worshipful mason. i think some of the masonic rituals he performed added to the occult nature of the whaley house. spooky vid. ive been in the house, smelld the perfume, heard the footsteps.......

Very interesting but I believe there are a few important facts missing. One being that the trial of "Yankee Jim Robinson" was held in 1852, five years before the house was built and there was little information to support the truth that he was hung there. Second the house in the garden was moved to the current location from another part of Old Town. It is said that the disturbances were brought on by the house being moved onto the property. Still in all fun I do believe this is haunted.

the orb photos r horrible...ive taken pics of things before and had same effect because of lighting or dust or reflections but u dont see me going around showing em to people and claiming they r ghostly orbs..u people will do anything to draw attention to a booger on the wall!

Great producing and editing on the video. They also left out the story of the ghost dog that supposedly haunts the house too. And a little girl that ran in to the close line and broke her neck.Then died on the kitchen table But The orbs are nothing more than dust particles. Especially outside in the back yard. Even so, no one has ever proved that orbs are ghosts or have any link to ghosts. They are either dust or small amounts or energy. How about some forms or shadows. Then I'll believe..

I felt the pressure the other day when I was in there. I was walking out of the theatre into the hall and felt dizzy and a pressure pushing me. I almost fell down the stairs. and then as I was standing in the children's bedroom doorway I felt another pressure tugging on my legs and pushing me. It felt like electricity running through my body.

What proof does anyone have that orbs are ghosts? Im not being sarcastic, I want to know.. I hear alot of talk about orbs. I even got a very large one in a picture at the oldest bar in London. But what makes everyone so shure they are definate proof of ghosts? could they just be the way the light reflects in the camara?
